Second possible trade
Pile A
2x Cryptic Command
2x Vendilion Clique
2x Vedalken Shackles
for
Pile B
SP Volcanic Island
In both trades I would give up Pile A to obtain Pile B. I'm somewhat reluctant about the second trade because I don't particularly need Volcanic Island (I do have 3), and I'm also thinking about using the Modern Cards for a deck (not sure if I need Cliques for UWR delver), though I don't anticipate playing Modern anytime in the immediate future.
A for both options in the first one and B in the second one. To me, it's not remotely close. Although Clique and Cryptic are approaching Force of Will levels of price, they aren't staples of the modern format as many decks do not want these cards at all, unlike Volcanic Island in Legacy. They are also easily reprintable. You should be able to retrade the Volcanic Island for even more value later if you so desire, although I wouldn't recommend it.
I give pile A and take pile B.
I have 5 Tarmogoyf so trade 2 will make me have 2 left, so I need to find 1 more for my playset.
However Volcanic Island is hard to find in my country.

Comes down to condition on the dual - if it's in NM condition, then I'd say you're OK taking it. It is a reserve list card that will never go down, whereas 'Goyf will be reprinted. See above. Strictly dollar-wise, you're down a bit, but as soon as that reprint happens you'll be happy you made the trade.

The Leyline is $20 and the foil Reef is $25. $45 seems like a pretty good deal for an FTV, even a bad one like Annihilation. It'll go up long term, and Leyline will crash as soon as it's reprinted. I take the FTV here.

How interesting is 4x REV Plateau for 1x REV Volcanic Island? All NM.
I have the Plateau but I don't know, it doesn't feel quite right to trade 4 dual lands for a single one, even if blue. I feel like a new deck could emerge and give me more value with the Plateau over time.
But then again, I don't play with the Plateau and don't have the fetch for it, while the Volcanic could be fetched and see plays in some of my decks. What do?
I think I like the Volcanic better, because Plateau doesn't really see play except in some Goblins lists (splashing Thalia) and some Imperial Painter lists (splashing the same, and E. Tutor).

The trade looks fine by me especially if you needed cards in Pile B and maybe Pile B is better right now, but I think Pile A is the way to go for the long term. Thoughtseize may go up after rotation of RTR block. but it will always be a sought after staple. I really don't have high hopes for the temples when they rotate.
It has a really orange finish to it and is much darker than any other white foils I have. Being that I hadn't at the time I purchased it had any Zendikar block white foils in my collection I thought it was block/set specific thing and then a few people pointed it out at an event and I researched it and compared it to other foils. Though it is harder to see in the scans due to the scanner light, in person it is much more noticeable.
Edit: Actually, I showed it to a non-magic playing family member side by side with some random new boarder white foils and they described it as "gold" which is actually a better description.
Well, like I said it can be hard to tell from scans. I actually have a foil Maze Sentinel from Dragon's Maze and it has a similar darkness but when put side to side it is not near as dark as this. That is how I showed to one of my family members along with a few other foil white cards and they noticed the difference pretty quickly for a non magic player. They said the color looks different and I asked what they thought was different about the few cards and they said "what do you mean different? The boarder? The gold?" I found that kinda funny.
Like i said, foiling processes have changed since then a few times. I can name a few variations that i have noticed personally, there is the "white" artifacts from mirrodin and the "metallic" foiling of avacyn restored cards, i'm sure people who have played longer then i have can name more. The differences between them can be subtle, but they are there. Also, comparing the card to a recent foil is very unreliable, i would at least look at other foil stoneforge mystics in person.
You really would have to see it in person, man do I hate expensive cameras/scanners that just simply "take pictures", if you know what i mean. I could do better with a disposable than my brother's 600$ camera.
as I've only recently returned to the MTG market (I'd left for a few month for personnal reasons), I've got a simple and plain question for you all :
First, my vision is only financial on this point. The idea is to make sure to make the best investment.
I've got a Gaea's Craddle (Exc), and have the possibility to trade it versus a NM Foil Arid Mesa and a few extra bucks (something like 15$)
I'm just wondering if that's such a good investment, considering the fact that getting your hands on a craddle doesn't seem that easy today (I've got daily demands on it).
And I'd like to be sure that a fetch reprint wouldn't affect the foil arid mesa...
Both sides seem to count advantages and drawbacks... that's why I need your help
Any advice on this point is welcome!
Thank you all in advance!
Regards
Welcome to MTGS.
I'd keep the Gaea's Cradle. It's a very popular card that sees play in Legacy, EDH, and kitchen table, and most importantly, it's on the reserve list. Arid Mesa is guaranteed to see a reprint, and while that won't totally crash the foil price (because original foils are always going to be the "best" version), it will depress it a bit. Plus, RW is typically the redheaded stepchild; their duals often don't command the prices that the rest (especially blue ones) do. Just look at poor Plateau. Standard can shake this up a bit (Sacred Foundry was the top shock this past year because of a Standard deck), but that doesn't help you.
From a purely investment POV, Gaea's Cradle is a fabulous card to have and to keep. It's already spiked, so it's not likely to make huge gains in the near future, but as a multi-format staple that's on the reserve list, it will never drop.

Keep cradle easily. Reserved list. Foil arid mesa for $20-$25 would surprise me after a reprint for a new foil and the original zendikar foil would likely drop a bit. Cradle is reserved and isn't dropping but gaining.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
What do you guys think of Tundras (MP Revised) for Gaea's Cradle? I have some tundras that i don't use. I need Gaea's Cradle for an elves deck. Do Tundras have a higher ceiling than Cradles?
Pile A - My:
1x Marsh Flats [Zendikar, Not-quite-NM]
Pile B - His:
3x Courser of Kruphix
+$5 evener in cards.
Is this a wise investment?
-Coursers are played in modern. Prices may go up, and I could possibly use them in standard.
-Marsh Flats, and the other fetches, have been speculated to be reprinted soon. However, The flats are at their lowest since the $55 peak in May. I'm trying to get a modern deck running but it's been slow-going, and this would dent my progress.

This is a trade I made last week:
Giving: 2 Thoughtseize (Theros)
Getting: Aether Vial (DS)
Went to a new shop from a friend's recommendation, DQ'ed for willful violation of CR 100.6b.
Have played duals? I have PucaPoints for them!

Is a $140 to much to ask? I figure I am trading down so that is why I am asking so much. Let me know, thanks!
Dark print error? Pictures would help greatly since a regular foil stoneforge is $140 by itself.

I really like the 4 Eidolons here. I can easily see this being a $10 card in the future. Shocklands can be found pretty cheap with rotation pending.
