Foil FoW: $750 each. Set of rv duals: $1400. So, by the numbers, you take the Forces. That said, I can't help but feel that rv duals are going to go up faster than the ridonkulously rare judge promo. I'd probably keep the duals, both on speculation of eventually higher prices (they're pretty much the poster children of the reserve list) and because they're much more useful to me in everyday play.

Along with many mods, I've moved shop over to MTGNexus. Come check us out!
I personally like pile A for long term. The shocks were reprinted, but will see some growth in the next couple years. M15 didn't have LOTV this year, but mainly I think it is because of Mono Black being a thing, so I think she will be back in the next couple years. Spellskite is probably on the radar for a reprint as well in the next couple years if there is a MM2 or special product they can put it in. Jace is Jace and he hasn't moved in price a ton lately and in my area has actually dropped about $30 in the past 6 months.
The dual lands have been steadily marching up lately and will continue that climb due to the reserved list. I am just kind of careful about trading away reserved list cards for anything that could see reprint soon.
I don't know about the values on those cards, but it seems like mostly odds and ends for a solid dual. I'm assuming you're acquiring the Taiga?
Without looking up values, I would go for the dual.

So I pulled a foil Garruk Apex Predator at the M15 pre-release and I set up a trade with a guy and we meet on Thursday. He's offering me 3 Thoughtseize, 3 Overgrown Tomb, 3 Lifebane Zombie, 1 Hero's Downfall, 1 Erebos, God of the Dead, 1 Devour Flesh (I need Devour Flesh and Lifebane Zombie for a Mono-Black Devotion build, even though their value isn't much). Should I do the trade? I'm worried of Garruk skyrocketing in Standard and me loosing out on potential profit, like what happened with Courser of Kruphix that went from $5 to $20.
If you are concerned with losing profit, get rid of him now. He is 7CMC and doesn't look like he will really slow or stop your opponent. The best Planeswalkers tend to go for opponents unconditionally, this will get a creature, that it can target, or a planeswalker.
For 7 Mana. So you ramp to 7 and take out a 'Goyf is pretty much best case for this in Modern. In Legacy you never see him hit the table, can't even Show and Tell him in, so, doubt he makes an I.pact there. Vintage, maybe will play him, if they are making a joke deck and want to scare somebody before slapping him on the table. Cube, well, maybe in somebodies, 7 for what he does is pretty bad. That leaves EDH, where he might see play. Doubt he will see a lot of play, but he might get back to $50 solely through EDH in a few years.
So, that's my opinion. If I had the offer you got, he would be gone. In a months time, you'll be lucky to get 2 Thoughtseizes and a handful of bulk.
I agree. I don't see a world where he goes up from his foil presale value of $70. Trading him now before the set is released and there's a billion copies of him is the best thing you can do.

Thanks for your answer, I'd be taking pile B, but still not sure...
I do realize that everyone likes to pimp out their EDH deck and what not, but I think that the cards you traded away had more functional value. While he lost a couple of Foil lands, he now has a giant pile of amazing cards that could create endless possibilities in the other formats. Each to their own in terms of value though. As long as you like what you got on your end of the trade, that's what counts.
Absolutely. I understand that the cards I traded away had way more functionality, but I wasn't using them at all (they were sitting in my binder or used in EDH)for competitive formats. I don't plan on getting into legacy and I'm happy with my modern deck.
I like the Unhinged lands. They increased about a year or so ago and have been sitting there. If they are really NM, I would happily trade away MP/HP cards that can all be reprinted for those lands.
It is true, functionally right now he is ahead, but in a couple years time I wouldn't be surprised if the value of what you traded away is half of its current value and that the lands are an extra 10% or more higher, possibly even doubling.
Unhinged lands that are foil are extremely special. I do have to admit that full art lands will never loose their value. If they released full art lands in Khans of Tarkir, Unhinged will not even suffer a scratch in value. Everything else that Keep traded can rise in value too and probably will as well (especially the shocks), but at least Keep gets to be that guy with the pimped out foil full art lands.
Alright, good. It definitely seemed favorable to me so I just wanted to confirm that I wasn't missing something. You don't often come across good deals for dual lands.
Yeah, I would say Fulminator Mage for sure. You can still open Nissa in packs, and I'm sure she'll drop before too long.
What did you guys think of these trades?
Both trades I was giving Pile A to get Pile B. Both have been completed already, but I want to get your thoughts. I'm basically trying to get playable standard cards/good spec targets.

Since you took some time to answer mine, I'll return the favor. I like Pile A slightly more in the first one and Pile B a lot more in the second one. Xenagos is pretty undervalued at $7 and may rise upon rotation. Then again, Thundermaw is something I've been keeping an eye on as it does see some Modern play. Rev is tanking as well, but I don't think this is the last we've seen of it. I just don't see any of the Gods there going anywhere in Pile A. However, the second trade you gave up a lot of smaller fringe cards for two awesome Standard planeswalkers and then some. There's really nothing that jumps out at me in the Pile A and I would have been fine just getting the 2 planeswalkers. Well done.
B pile: 2 foil force of will
I presume that "a set" is one of each.
Foil FoW: $750 each. Set of rv duals: $1400. So, by the numbers, you take the Forces. That said, I can't help but feel that rv duals are going to go up faster than the ridonkulously rare judge promo. Pile B ($418)

1x Wurmcoil Engine = 22
1x Liliana of the Veil = 62
3x Path to Exile = 12,18
3x Cavern Of Souls = 17 x3 = 51
1x Jace, The Mind Sculptor = 95

4x Blood Crypt = 4x 8,95 = 35,80

Pile B would be what I would be snap taking.
Moved to Pile A vs Pile B. - Sparki

After some research, the Taiga seems even better.
Pile B all the way.

Both piles came to ~$510 according to TCG Mid Prices (after factoring in condition)
Pros: The other side gave me really good prices for my SP/MP/HP cards
Cons: Some of the cards I traded are multiformat staples (Snapcaster, Jace, Clique, etc)
