New user, excited to join. I cracked open a MM17 box last night and got a pretty badly miscut foil abrupt decay. I was wondering if that had much value or not...thoughts?
A bit about me, I love playing UWB control decks and prefer to theme my decks over going for pure power.
Can we see I picture, we need that to tell the severity of the miscut

I've noticed in a lot of MM17 box openings, people are mentioning faded ink. What's going on here, as in is this real on a large or small scale and if so, is this actually effecting price?
I think this is probably nothing, but I noticed a small difference in border sides with this EM Wasteland. It's a little difficult to spot at first glance. When I measured it, there seemed to be about a 1 1/2 millimeter difference between the two sides. Normally I wouldn't bother to ask whether this affects price, but it is a Legacy/Vintage staple so I figured better to check than not.
Have a pretty interesting misprint from Modern Masters 2017. Interested in what actually caused this, and if, since they are on playable cards, if this would cause a good value increase.
Nice blotch! That's caused by some physical interference with the printing process. Across two cards (see if you can find that third one!), that's a pretty pricey misprint. I wouldn't say three digits, but probably in the $75 range.

Make a new post, start an auction for it and see where it goes. While you aren't seeing another card, this is a significant miscut and should increase the value.
Here is a picture of my Abrupt Decay MM17 Foil. Let met know what you think!
You can see part of the other card, but can't know what it is by the border..

Very nice! If you got your box locally, you should ask around aggressively at the shop and see if anyone else got a miscut foil rare. If you can find that other card (and then the next one and the next one that are all from that sheet ...), then you can get a better price.
Looks like it's a $15 card normally. With that miscut, I'd say $50. Maybe $75, to the right person.

Hi all, I ask for your sage wisdom; in a collection I bought I found a Demonic Tutor that has been signed. What would you say is a fair price as I have no idea. Thanks.

Doug Shuler is not dead, nor terribly reclusive. His signature does not add significant value to the card. Probably $2, given that's what he charges per sig. YMMV based on audience, of course.

Not sure if I'm in the right corner of this forum, but I recently bought a foil Selvala, Heart of the Wilds and this is what I was sent.
Basically, upon inspecting the card, I noticed two things:
1) The hologram looks weird and is not a perfect oval (like all the other recent mythics and rare that I have)
2) The upper right corner looks off: it's not as rounded as it should be (compared with the other corners)
Could this both be a miscut (the corner) and a printing issue (the hologram) or does this look like it could actually be a fake?
I've not come across any fake foils, let alone one with the new M15 hologram frame.
Any thoughts welcome!
The picture is welcome, but a better picture would be better.
I can't see anything wrong with the hologram stamp at that resolution. I've seen a lot of imperfect stamps fresh from the pack, and I don't open a ton of cards. It's not impossible for the stamp to flake, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.
As far as the corner goes, again, that's within tolerance. I'd call that a slight miscut rather than assume a fake. If anything, a counterfeiter would be more likely to cut perfect corners - that's probably the easiest part of the job.

Agreed on all accounts. Additionally if you are that concerned over whether this is a fake or not, buy a jeweler's loupe. you can get them off Amazon for $10. Especially if you buy a fair amount of cards online it's an easy way to check to see if cards are faked or not. I still have yet to see a fake with rosettes good enough to look original.
If you are really unhappy with this card you could probably go to the misprints facebook page and try to auction it off. Not sure if it would command much of a premium but it would allow you to recoup some/most of your money and try again.
Hello guys! Just found this thread, very happy to have. I open a lot of Korean booster boxes, ad recently I opened a foil Fatal Push. How much do you guys think I should be able to get rid of it for?
Also, is there a typical multiplier for certain languages?

Welcome!
While there is a language hierarchy, the multiplier varies depending on what the card is. So, while Korean and Russian are the rarest languages, their huge markups only apply to foil tourney cards. Casual cards (like Doubling Season, for example), are more resistant to the multiplier because casuals want card that they can read. There will be a multiplier, but it's not as high as, for example, a Polluted Delta or a Fatal Push. So foil Push is a good card to open in Korean.
Fatal Push is a $30 foil right now. Wow. Okay. There are actually several completed listings on eBay, from $60 to $100. All of those are successful sales, so I'd say that you could easily start an auction at $85, or have a BIN of $100.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I've had people telling me that they'd trade it for $40 or so, but I didn't feel like that was as much as I'd be able to get for it. Glad I asked then o.O
Also, what would Modern staples in Korean be worth on average in non-foil. Grim Flayer, for instance?

There's not really much of a premium on nonfoils. There's one available for $20 shipped, and that guy's taking best offers. Sold prices are at $20 and $15.
Offhand, I'd say that most of the time unless there's a significant "cool" factor for some reason, there's not going to be a significant difference in the price for nonfoil Modern cards.

Yup... Maybe a buck or two extra to the right person. I still have lots of Japanese shock lands in my edh deck I'd like to swap for English, just tough to find people with original Ravnica shocks that want to swap for Japanese.

Thanks for your responses and tips. I agree with the comment on the corner. You can see a higher resolution here. The hologram stamp just looks unlike any other I've seen by quite a bit.
Looking at the security stamp in your better picture (thank you for the better picture! I wish that everyone with a misprint would do that), it looks like a few bits have flaked off. It's nothing that I haven't seen out of the pack before. I think that MM2 was a particular offender with that stamp. Overall, I'd be fine with that card as a "normal" Selvala.

As long, as nothing else is weird about the card, a variance in coloring is normal. Especially if one card is from US and one from Belgium. They even feel a little bit different.
Another question: I guess a crimped Wrap in Flames isn't worth anything?

Concur - especially since it's such a blue (art hue value, not MTG color pie) card, one could even have sat in the sun for a week and it'd be hard to tell (reds bleach first, blues last).
As far as the crimped Wrap In Flames, unless the crimp is HUGE it's probably just a cool memento. Someone will pay a buck or so for it even if it's just barely crimped, but it's not worth big money unless the crimp is, I'd say, at least a centimeter deep.
