I've got a Japanese foil Deadeye Navigator I'm looking to unload. Problem is: I have no idea what to value it at... I can't seem to find any online. The only one on eBay is $50 obo, which I think is high. The only completed listing is the one that I bought right before the jump... Any ideas? Also, for future reference, what is the best resource for finding this type of info? Teach a man to fish yadda yadda...
magiccardmarket.eu is usually pretty decent for finding foreign prices. Just don't take it as gospel, espcially when there are very few copies of a card. As to the deadeye, there is a disproportionately smaller number of casual players that like foreign foils than competitive players. The premium over English is likely to me much lower than a jap foil legacy staple/playable.
Commander-players are into pimping their decks, so I believe that the Japanese foil Navigator should find a buyer around 30-35$ on eBay eventually. Put it up at 40$ or best offer and hope that the right buyer notices it. I feel that the 50$ is wishful thinking from the seller, as not many people expected the jump to 20$ so fast. If you really want it gone, I would expect it to be snapped up at 25$ in a few days. But as with other pimp cards, they are valued at what the current buyer is willing to pay.
Also as the jump on Navigators is so recent, many players feel that the price will come back down and thus wait. If the price stays at this level, buyers will slowly come out of woods and start buying again. If the price starts ticking up for some reason (somebody decides to buy these out at current price, which would be pretty bad idea IMHO) the buyers might panic and start buying these up at even higher prices, but I really doubt that Navigator can move up again. It's just too recent card in a set that was printed enough.
So if you need to move it fast, I would suggest offering it around the 35$ price and see if you get any bites or just sit on it, untill the card price stabilizes and they start selling again.
As for using MCM (Magiccardmarket), the price there is the lowest not sold item, but sometimes postages can really shift the price ranges up. If some seller has bad feedback, buyers will have to pay extra 4 € in postages, making them usually sell cards at discount to get back to the good side of the site. It's agreat tool, but there are some pitfalls.
Got this back when Onslaught was released. Anyone know how much it is worth? It is Near Mint.
Thanks
Well, it's not an overly distinguishing mark, and the card is pretty much a bulk rare. I'd say $5, maybe $10 if you get lucky. I don't think that I've seen that kind of scribble-effect before, but it's just not that interesting.

My friend traded for a foreign white bordered Tropical Island today at FNM. He believes it's German and it has a date of 1995 on it. Does anybody know what set and how much it will go for if it is legit?
It's simply a FWB Tropical island which is revised. It might be worth a bit more to the right person, but not much.
Thanks for the reply. The card was noticeably darker though, but the other guy said it's common with foreign cards. My friend was trading for it since it was in close to NM condition while the Tropical Island he gave away for it was a little beat up.

Good trade then. As far as foreign duals go, German are the most expensive.
Ok, so I'm pretty excited - I was able to persuade my local store owner to sell me his personal set of Antiquities Foglio artist proofs tonight. The eight proofs included are of Mishra's Workshop, the four versions of Mishra's Factory, Energy Flux, Primal Clay, and Millstone. Some incredibly iconic cards there. I can't find a lot of info on value in terms of their fair market value/resale price, does anyone have any idea/opinion, especially on the Workshop? I know they're not technically tournament legal, but they are mad pimp for something like EDH. I hope I didn't overpay... there's demand for these, am I right?
Your best bet would be to check completed ebay listings or dig around old forum posts. I can help look once I'm at home.
You're the second person to ask that, I was posting about this elsewhere online too - I guess the Foglios normally signed and/or numbered their proofs according to some. These are totally unmarked, but I have no reason to doubt their authenticity. I basically had to sign over a firstborn child to get them from the store owner. I can post pictures tomorrow.

I paid $450 for my signed set back in 2010, but that was having a friend get them from Phil and Kaja for me. None of my Foglio APs are numbered - I don't think that was something that they did, but again, I haven't really been paying attention to them since I got my sets. Many other artists will number them, and lower numbers sometimes command a premium.
Prices range quite a bit - I do a lot of eBay searches for artist proofs, and the Workshop is all over the place. I've seen it listed from $350 to $999. I don't really check completed listings on it, but I have seen the same listings over and over for years now.
As far as demand goes, there is a small but quite dedicated community of people looking for artist proofs. I only know one or two others, but I would estimate that I probably spend more on proofs than I do on "real" Magic cards. I've never actually seen them used as casual pimp, though. If you're looking to flip them, I'd suggest bringing them to a large event and offering them for trade. Feel free to contact me if you have AP questions that would go off-topic for the thread.

When Return to Ravnica came out, I bought an Izzet intro pack and discovered the commons/uncommons were cut weird. Some are just misaligned while others are cut so you can see the top of the next card. Are these worth anything? They've been unceremoniously living in a box because they're too weird to be sorted into the normal cards.

It's absolutely worth something. If you can find out which cards connect to each other vertically, it'll be worth significantly more.

Just curious to see what you guys thought the value on a foil miscut Phyrexian Revoker is. I know the normal foils are close to $15, so I figured I'd see if this would earn any premium. Thanks.
The miscut Revoker could garner a 5% or 10% (at most in my mind) if you find the right person. It does show the corner circle in the bottom left and a hair of the next card on the sheet, and those help. It's strongly a matter of who wants it. A miscut collector probably wouldn't have a problem paying some sort of a premium while someone just looking for a cheap foil would claim "damage" and try to save on the price. It all boils down to if you can get a premium for it, then go for it.
Kinda curious as to why the English Sliver Legion if far more than the foreign ones, including Japanese and Russian. Taking about non-foils. I figured the print run would've been smaller for Russian and Japanese than English and thus command a higher sell price. but SCG has Japanese at $25 for NM and $24 for a sp Russian. whereas a NM English they list at $40. TCG has them at $30 but still higher than the foreign listings. Anyone with any ideas as to why?? I thought the whole print run regardless of language was in short supply.

Right now foils are north of $20, so I would expect $40+<p class="merged-comment"><i>2/7/2014 12:08:08 PM</i><br/>

Foil Japanese can be had for ~$90, so I would put it at or above that. $90-$110.</p>

probably $15 would be my best guess.
I would guess that as well, maybe $20. but not much more. Great sideboard card imo.
