But that has nothing to do with why the price went up. The price should be going down because the market is about to get flooded with copies.
There is suddenly demand from a standard and modern point now though in untested waters. Everyone is jumping the gun essentially but it doesn't surprise me that it's going up as that is what I assumed it would do.

Also, any reason Glimmervoid might make some upward movements?
Depends if the deck keeps placing.
Also, Affinity just won the last Modern GP, so Glimmervoid upticked a bit.
We're through the wringer of three back to back Modern GPs now, and there's not another one for quite some time. Prices will likely start to settle in the interim.

Onslaught fetches were made modern legal, have far more demand, have the exact same availability as Piledriver, and dropped in value by about 40% when the reprint was announced. What is happening right now with Piledriver is totally irrational.
Well, there was always some constant demand for the onslaught fetchlands, but as soon as they were revealed, that constant demand was put on pause for however long they had to wait for release. Piledriver is a bit different, since it didn't have that same constant demand. And, the price is unlikely to go down until the new copies are release because demand + no actual new supply (yet) + the Hypetrain causing overdemand, is a recipe for a price to go up. The fetch reprints couldn't really get the Hypetrain treatment, since fetches were a known quantity in modern, and having the other half of the set wouldn't shake the format too much, only putting a few more % into a couple decks that could now run the right ones.
I don't think Gilt-Leaf Palace will survive the prerelease with a price like this.
As of today, foil copies of Gilt-Leaf Palace seem to be at a $20.00 minimum and normal copies seem to be in the $10+ range for NM copies. I bought a playset of foil copies on EBay last week when the elves got spoiled for $5.00 each just as a fallback because I knew it would spike.

Yeah auntie's hovel spiking to that much surprises and doesn't surprise me. People try to make money off anything these days. But what black cards does goblins run? Thoughtseize? Can't think of anything good in black for goblins in modern.
Piledriver going up is people being irrational. For piledriver to be 20 it would have to be on the level of thoughtseize, which has been 20 for quite some time after its reprint sure it dropped below that but that further proves my point. Piledriver is nowhere near thoughtseize in terms of playability. Onslaught fetches are in the same boat where they are staples and they still hit down into single digits for some. Lots of people seem excited about piledriver but it's going to tank on them hard once they realize there is no goblin warchief or anything to back it up especially after rabblemaster rotates out.

Any lucky owners of foil aether vials and foil darkness?
darkness is so dumb, it spiked because of the Ad Nauseam deck that top 4'd, but Holy Day does the same thing in that deck and is easier to cast. People just net-deck and never actually test the deck to find alternatives.
Probably. It only has a "reprinting" in a From the Vaults set, so they are probably somewhat tough to find. It's funny that they're really only played in 1 Modern deck though and the deck has some extremely polar matchups.
(I should say that I realize that they're also played in conjunction with Punishing Fire in several various Tier 2 Legacy decks.)

I don't feel like 70 is sustainable on Grove. Tron doesn't even *need* Groves, it just uses them because they're the most convenient RG lands that ETB untapped painlessly. Heck, the deck might even be stronger with 4x Wooded Foothills 1x Stomping Ground 1x Forest to more reliably make its Green against Blood Moon decks.

I mean, that might not actually be true. The only decks in Legacy that run Tagia are the occasional Jund and Lands lists, and those lists ALSO run Burnwillows, and often in a higher concentration (since you can always fetch up your Taiga but it's harder to find Grove and you need it for Punishing Fire). So it's already almost 3x as popular in Legacy as Taiga is, and then it has more than 5x as many top8 copies played in modern than it does in Legacy, for overall a more than 15x as many copies played in recent top 8's for any format.

Continuing on the trend of land spikes, Horizon Canopy is completely gone from TCGPlayer. The few copies left range from $65-70. Also Mutavault is rising with the prospect of Goblins being a thing in Modern. Currently the M14 price is $13 up from $10.
I think there's still a ton of room on Legion Loyalist with $10+ still possible depending on how good Modern Goblins ends up. Piledriver is up so high because of the aggregate demand of Modern spiking in the last ~3months (price spikes don't lie :P) in addition to Goblins possibly being a standard deck. Personally, I didn't think it would reach $15+ this quickly but above $10 was a no-brainer with a ton of room depending on how Modern and Standard Goblins turns out.
Warren Instigator speculation is just dumb and an obvious speculation play being that it's played in zero competitive Modern Goblin lists. Completely understand jumping on it to an extent but why people are rushing to get MAYBE 2x on a card when Legion Loyalist (and is the NUTZ paired/curved with Piledriver) was a lock for 3x+ is just laziness and ignorance.
If Goblin Guide doesn't get reprinted in Zendikar 2.0 or something soon, it will get even more stupid high but my $$ is on a reprint very soon.
It's an instant speed 5/5 trampler for 4. Wtf do you people want seriously? It has applications in populate/ above the curve beats decks, or in Bant control/ flash. I seriously think anyone mad at this card for any reason other than losing an attacker to instant speed wurm, should go home and make their own awesome card game and leave the rest of us alone.
