This is it. I actually bought some copies a month ago and they were around $1 each. It won't get high; as far as I know the deck is very glass cannon(y).

EDH? A lot of people want at least one in their deck for anti-mill, i know that is a bad reason but that is the sentiment i heard the most around here. Also, they arent bad as a possible repeatable draw 4 or vindicate.
Yes, with Emrakul, the Aeons Torn banned in EDH, these are the next two in line. They are Mythics in a 3rd set too, so that makes them pretty tough to get. A lot of it is price memory too. Kozilek, Butcher of Truths presold at SCG for $49. They did bottom out at $6, but the rarity, mostly from lack of competitive play, made the price go up slowly. They are just tough to find, with Ulamog being easier, due to the From the Vault.

I just noticed foil Gurmag Angler has raised in price from 4 Euro to 12 Euro at MCM. I just happened to get one (for like .25 Euro) earlier, and I'm not sure if I could get from it even more than that later. Should I keep or should I let it go?
it was a buy out, when mine 2x gurmag were sold (i find it odd cause i had them at quite a elevated price - 9€ each) there were no foils left. Meanwhile people started dropping them.
Huh interesting, somebody at my LGS mentioned it was this price and we kind of just brushed it off considering delver which is much more played in multiple formats was around that price range. I guess it really was that price for a while due to a buyout.

Hi I'm Infecter4life and ironically I only play GBx decks.
SCG buy prices on the Khans fetchlands are 1-2 dollars below tcg mid retail currently (12.50 SCG buyprice on a Flooded Strand, TCG mid is low 14's). I assume this means we're in for a price bump on them.

Channelfireball was buying strands at 11, deltas at 12 and the rest at 10 cash at GP Vegas.
Somehow I think it isn't going to work. Too many printed in MM1, and many earlier printings. Also mainly a sideboard card, due to how awful it is against multiple strong decks in Modern. No one is paying $65 for a sideboard card.

Interesting. Wonder why they would choose 8th and 9th edition in particular. Like you mentioned there are a lot of copies out there in that art/frame. If it were me I would have targeted The Dark editions, since they're more scarce/unique and some players prefer old borders, though I also think it's a bad idea in general.

Chains of Mephistopheles sees such a marginal amount of play, that I'm convinced people play it just because its old, rare and expensive, rather than it being better than any other particular card. I'm certain that there is almost no difference between jund with a 1-of Chains than jund without, and whether that difference is even positive.
Are people seriously comparing a card that's been reprinted in 2 modern-era core sets and Chronicles and Modern Masters to a card that has only ever been printed in Legends?
According to mtgtop8.com, these two cards see the following sideboard play over the last two months:
Blood Moon
Modern 22.3% of decks, 2.0 avg copies
Legacy 12.5% of decks, 1.7 avg copies
Engineered Explosives
Modern 17.1% of decks, 1.4 avg copies
Legacy 18.2% of decks, 1.2 avg copies
Similar competitive demand. Their MM 2013 availability is identical. That leaves a Fifth Dawn printing for EE vs. The Dark, Chronicles (a famously overprinted set), 8th, and 9th for Blood Moon. EE is $10. Blood Moon has been bought out across the internet and the few copies left are $40-$65. It makes no sense.

Makes me want to say that we should keep an eye on Magus of the Moon.
Chains of Mephistopheles would like a word.
Yes, Modern and Legacy are different beasts. But people will do what it takes for their decks to be optimal.
Tell that to Chains of Mephistopheles.
A better comparison would be Engineered Explosives.
