Add serum visions to that list as it wasn't reprinted in the block featuring scry.
Amazing what not reprinting a card and banning it's 2 better alternatives can do to the price of a card.
I wish they would allow Preordain or Ponder exist. Not both, just one.

Well the price of serum visions isn't so bad that reprinting it in conspiracy will completely crash the secondary market.
Well, to be fair, I was responding to a poster who's concerned about the potential price rise in certain cards as a result of increased pressures from modern season. The cards that poster was concerned about are already expensive in terms of absolute value (>15 - 20$). Serum Visions is not absolutely expensive, but rather, relatively expensive for a common - quickly becoming at least rare in the format that wants it.
This card, when played, is often 3-4 in the main deck of many blue bearing decks. It will be featured in many, if not most/all, blue decks of the future. Wouldn't brainstorm make your legacy deck better if you were already in blue? I've often seen it said that "you're doing it wrong" if you're building a deck with blue as a prominent color but omit the brainstorm. Serum visions is the brainstorm of modern.. This sentiment might be controversial but it probably not far.

I know. I was just assuming that Wizards wasn't completely oblivious to the secondary market.
I feel there's a calm before the storm with regards to Phyrexian Obliterator (or should I say another calm phase), what are the thoughts on this now staple beater (Tough pull from a small out of print set, also it has a minimal chance it appears for a soon reprint).

I'd guess that it will see another period of active growth in modern season. This card is a casual favorite and might easily dissapear from the market once bought up because many people will still want them for casual reasons even if he doesn't stand the test of time as a beater staple.
I predict that the cards for MBC, other than 8-rack, or a mono black midrange deck will come together nicely in the not too distant future. I wouldn't be surprised to see a version sporting some of the Standard mono-black devotion tech after printing a few more cards. A lot of people suggest that waste not might add something to predominantly black strategies; maybe for an unrealized mono-black midrange.
Do you guys think that Leyline of Sanctity still has room to grow? Could get my hand on a second playset for 40$ (Cnd) and want to know if it can be a good spec target?

Bitterblossom does appear to have bottomed out at about $40. The TCG-mid price has fallen $5 as people continue to lower prices, so the range is now $40-$50 instead of $40-$55, but as I guessed it's not headed much lower.
Tendo Ice Bridge mid-TCG has climbed from $2.56 to $2.98 in the past 2 weeks. NM copies continue to dry up; this card is going to pop above $5 eventually. Time Spiral's Gemstone Mine has gone from $4.00 to $6.69 in the past 4 months, and it's a reprint; Tendo hasn't been reprinted.
Another week. Tendo Ice Bridge mid-TCG has continued to rise from $2.98 to $3.41. Most of the listings in the $3 - $4 range are deceptive because they are in LP or MP condition and come with hefty shipping charges. This is a $5 card in NM condition, and NM condition is getting harder to find -- out of stock at SCG, TNT, CFB, etc. Gemstone Mine (Timeshifted edition) has also risen from $6.69 to $6.99. But TIB has never been reprinted. Get on this train before it leaves the station.
No change in Bitterblossom; Gifts Ungiven finally saw a slight bump from $5.75 to $5.95 but it could just be a temporary fluctuation; it still looks flat.

Who cares? Seriously, I don't get why these three cards matter at all in a discussion about shifts in the Modern market? Is this useful for anyone or just a way for you to insert some sense of relevance in the conversation? I really don't get it. Why? Bitterblossom - Since April 1st has gone down every single day. This conflicts with "No change in Bitterblossom" and is frankly just bad information to post. Gifts Ungiven - After tanking upon reprint, the card is slowly creeping up a little. The change is so small that it's not worth even caring about in a thread about "Modern Huge Gainers." Nobody is hovering over a $5 card waiting for it to increase my 4% over a month. I guess if you looked for a 5 year investment 4% per month is sweet, but... Tendo Ice Bridge - Okay? It's seeing more play in a niche deck and has been since early February. The price has been ticking up - not surging - and doesn't seem to be highly playable except as a 3-of in a deck that sort of puts up results but reeks of "easily answered." Nothing about the deck or history says anything about it taking over the Modern meta game. I think the train on this one left the station already and it's a toy train.
Really though, I personally would like to just hear about modern huge gainers and not your predictions or how awesome your predictions are.

1. All of these cards are in the Modern market.
2. All of these cards have the potential to be huge gainers.
3. People have expressed the desire to know about cards BEFORE they explode, not afterwards.

The issue was that there were sales above market on eBay that suggested a possible move upward. I'm being honest and telling people that a move that looked to be about the happen hasn't.

No one said anything about it taking over the Modern meta game, so that's a straw man. All we care about is whether or not the increased play of the card will result in the price increasing. It has, and it looks like it could surge any day. Thank you for offering your opinion that "this one left the staiton already"; we will see if you're right in the coming months.

2. That can be said for a lot of cards.
3. That is typically how most things in life work.
This is sort of the issue I'm having here - you are providing information that isn't particularly relevant here and don't have any credentials to make us think your crystal ball is worth a damn. I've just seen a lot of people over the years here post like they have some insiders intuition and thus far your information has proven to be flimsy and sort of irrelevant.

No comprendo. That site uses TCGplayer prices. I guess I will apologize for not being totally correct - since unbanning it went up $1 once and has been relatively steady for a week. I guess I don't see 1 week being enough time to call it bottomed out. In my mind, the card is still in a transit until we see at least a month of steady prices.

When I said that there was the implication that in order to actually surge a card would need to either be exceptionally rare (not really the case here) or in super high demand (because enough people were playing the deck to trigger market forces - a.k.a. taking over the Modern meta game). If that was unclear, I apologize. If you want to prove me wrong, that's cool. I really don't care enough to keep track.

Could you create a blog for that then? This is Modern Huge Gainers. It's a thread about Modern cards that have jumped up in price dramatically. It's not about opinions, and you were not being harassed; you were simply off-topic. I come to this thread to find the news about which Modern cards have recently gained in price, which is the purpose of this thread. When someone posts here, it's only natural to assume that the post is related to the topic, not someone's opinion or thoughts on a card going down in price or flat-lining. There is an appropriate place for that, such as an article or blog or dedicated thread.
They've all gone down in the last week. Why are they being talked about here? This seems like fear-mongering, which is actually worse than speculation for the market.
I would not call it fear mongering. Pretty much all of those cards have had recent price spikes (and any price drops have been small in comparison), in many cases unexpected or after strong showings in a tournament. All are also core cards in several Modern decks and it is not unreasonable to be worried that some of them could go even higher as Modern rolls on.
