I don't know what to tell you, man. Here's a search screen, and the results from one seller who has 8. Near-Mint, English, Innistrad. Check your filters?
Also, you might have to pay state sales tax? Kjeldor has no sales tax (but as you can see, I'm not logged in).

Oh wow, the prices I'm seeing are $10 higher. Checking from Canada, logged out.
What I meant in my post was "Snapcaster is coming in MM17, but if you could buy today at $10 below current market price, would you?".
If it actually sells today at $40, that's a different story. I did not see this kind of prices when I was checking (being in Canada may have something to do with this)
Is it time to buy Origins Nissa and Lili, or could they go any lower? They're at $8 where i live. They see virtually no modern play, but i suspect they have a decent casual demand.

Historically cards that rotate out in September bottom out on December/January, then start to slowly ascend. My guess is the bottom is still a month or two off. However, the decrease would probably be measured in cents, not dollars.

Ah, yeah, sorry. You've got conversion costs and extra shipping.
To answer the question that you wish you'd asked, would I buy Snapcasters at ($CheapestPrice -$10) each, the answer is still no. Part of that is the fact that I simply don't have a huge amount of disposable income, part of that is that I already have my playset, and part of that is that I don't think that he has that much upside. He's a great card, but he's also a known quantity, He's not suddenly going to spike and become $150. Could he go up to $80? Sure, if there's significantly increased interest in Modern. Will he? I kind of doubt it.
If he's $40, letting me buy in at $30, then I can turn around and sell him for ... $37.50? That's a gross profit of $30 on the playset, minus whatever transactional costs I incur (probably 15% [or $22.50] in eBay/PayPal fees; if I'm lucky I can also charge shipping). Plus, my audience is shrunk since everyone and their brother knows that he'll be reprinted in five months. So even getting a $40 discount on a playset nets me under $10 profit when all is said and done. Or I hold them and wait for him to go up to $50 (in another year? two?) in order to see a significant ($50 net) profit. Or I can try to trade him, which lets me avoid the fees, but at that point why am I buying a card and then waiting instead of just buying what I want to get in the first place?

Would I be an idiot or just slightly slow for buying foil Leovold, Emissary of Trest for $150? He seems like he's starting to pull a Dack Fayden - three years ago I was looking at Dack foils at $100 and thinking "There's no way he keeps that price." Now he's $300 (for an original printing foil) and the last foil I still don't have from Conspiracy I.
Will Leovold do the same thing? Or is he going to come back down to earth?

I do believe that the current MCM price of 125 euros will stick or stay pretty close for quite some time, with still some movement upwards possible. The card is pretty busted and Commander demand will stay pretty strong, unless there will be a judge foil at some point, which I find pretty unlikely.
The foil prices really went up fast in US, and MCM prices went up much slower, with some real sales and some sellers upping their prices. I unfortunately haven't followed this as closely as I propably should, as I got mine at close to bottom (at about 60 euros) and caught a bad flu to follow that. I propably should have bought couple more.
One card that I would also compare this is the original Marchesa, the Black Rose, which was the second most expensive foil for original Conspiracy, moved from 40 to 80 a month after release, but now has dropped somewhat, as demand has been dropping and some dealers have either listed their backstock or opened few pallets of the older set.
The big difference in the two Conspiracies is that ConII has better spread of valuable cards (at least in mythics), so there's limit on how much value any single mythic can hold. There's real demand for Sanctum Prelates due to legacy play, Selvala Foils are also staying much higher than I hoped not to mention Kaya foils. Berserk has dropped more than I thought possible and Show and Tell foils might strat going up a bit in the near future.
I'm collecting a full foil set and was targeting the foil mythics up until about two weeks ago, when sleeping started to seem a better idea than hunting possible bargains. Hopefully I didn't loose too much money by getting sick... Luckily I only need few bigger cards and then the rest seems to have been relatively stable.
My favourite picks for future gains are foil Expropriate and Selvala's Stampede foils. I actually really like how the Council's Dilemma makes both cards work differently each game, making them less boring than either Time Stretch or Tooth and Nail respectively. Stampede is also costed to be playable in casual duels.

Thanks for the detailed answer once again, particularly under "Nuts and bolts". Your reasoning makes sense from financial speculation point of view. I am just looking to acquire a playset for Modern, and am on the fence. Kinda need the card now, but also kinda hate to lose 4x$20 = $80 in 4-5 months...

I'm kind of concerned that he's going to maintain his price tag and continue to grow. There just isn't a substitute for him in Commander. Additionally, seeing what Dack did with the reprinting gives me hope that even if Leovold is reprinted, the original foil will still be fine.

Hey, someone is selling an Affinity deck for $500 when the whole list goes for $750 on TCG. Now I don't actually need Affinity but the price is very tempting. What do you guys think? Do you play Modern? Do you want to? I find Affinity to be a pretty fun deck that generates a lot of tough decisions (mostly "Do I sac my board for a lethal attack, or do I let him draw another card?"). If you're thinking about playing the deck, I'd go for it (I presume that you have none of these cards already). It's possible (likely, in fact) that we'll see some reprints in MM17, but those won't crater the prices of your top cards. Mox Opal just got reprinted twice (MM15 and Kaladesh Invention), so that's not likely to get another go. Ravager and Inkmoth are the ones that are in the danger zone.
Also note that you're spending about $100 to upgrade some cards to foil. If that's relevant to you.
If you're not going to play the deck (or lend it out), and you're just going to let it sit as an investment vehicle, I'd hold off. I'm very bearish on Modern cards.

Want to buy x10 each of the new Commander Rebecca Guay lands as I love the art and want them for limited/constructed. They are preselling for $0.49 each. Is that a good deal? I know she is a popular artist and these can only be found by opening up commander decks, so I assume they will be hard to find.

I wouldn't say it's a great deal, but it's not a horrible use of your money either. I'd guess that you'll eventually be able to find them for about a quarter apiece, since that's what most box set basics go for. In general, preorder prices drop.

Figured since they are from a highly sought after artist, plus only come in pre-constructed commander decks they'd be a little more expensive.
It's not a lot of money so I'll probably get them since I want them, not worth waiting for the price to drop to $0.25

Eventually, they'll go up. However, they might get reprinted, or offered as foils in order to push a box set or something. Remember that Guay is a very polarizing artist - some people really love her work, and some can't stand it. Plus, there will be a ton of these around - each deck has 3-7 basics of each type.
18 Plains
19 Island
17 Swamp
19 Mountain
22 Forest
Which deck gets which and how many won't be known until tomorrow, but it's probably a pretty even distribution. So someone buying a full set of decks will likely end up with about 6 of each Guay basic. Stores that want to crack the decks for singles will generate 6 of each Guay basic per set of commanders that they get. My FLGS solves this problem by dumping the basics into the land station. I'm sure that others will do the same. Is that worth $25 to you? If so, go for it.

Thanks for the reply. I do play Modern but I only have one tier 1 deck (Infect) so i'm contemplating getting another t1 deck. If I buy this I will most likely keep it as a lender or play it every now and then. I'm also planning on trading the foils for non-foils (I'm not big on foils) and just like you, I'm really worried about Arcbound Ravager, it should see a reprint soon.

I know that this isn't what you want to hear, but ... none of them.
If I understand you correctly, you're saying that 4x of each are available, and not that you're getting 4x for the quoted price. 4x of any of those sets would be a great deal at the listed prices. However, those are all pretty reasonable prices for 1x of a set. Not something you want to scramble to get cash for. Those are not unique deals, and are pretty far from a "once in a lifetime offer". If you have the cash, then buying one of those sets for the listed price is not the worst thing in the world. You get some pretty useful cards for a reasonable price. But unless you're looking to open a store or really make your collection a lot deeper, running out to buy complete sets isn't where I'd put my money.

It seems fine. And maybe, like, me, you can switch to Affinity once your primary deck gets banned!
Seller claims most of rares/mythics are a 4x. Condition is NM and they are in binders (I have seen photos). I might be able to scramble some cash to get one of them. Which one should I choose? I play EDH.

Actually I was almost sure that I'd got a reply like that but I wanted to double check with you guys. Purchasing one of these would be a deviation from my MtG budget so I wasn't quite sure at all. Thanks
