If its buy, only get the dungeon geists, I still really like the card and hope it plays big post RTR.
As for the hellrider, its not very good anymore so I wouldn't buy or sell it at that price, but who knows after rotation. Just throw it in the casual binder for some other day.
looking to play magic in the Albany, NY area? come on down to New York Sports @ Yankee Dugout. We do events almost every night of the week including our Sunday night standard. Check us out for a fun place to play.
Confidant at $30 is an insta-buy. Buying Dungeon Geist at $1.50 as well, but probably selling Batterskull at $9 since it's on the verge of rotating out.
Yeah, it sees play as a 1-2 of in Stoneblade and in variants of Maverick and D&T as well. But it'll fall through rotation then start to rise around the first of the year. It'll be cheaper to pick them up in October/November in the $5-6 range, after which the price will slowly rise due to Legacy/EDH/Casual play.

Yes, that's what I had in mind. The pattern for cards like this is like clockwork around this time of year.
Buy Birthing Pod @ $2-3: there's no real downside; I'd be shocked if you couldn't pick them up at $1 or $1.50 though, since there are tons floating around.
Sell Thundermaws @ $15-20: For a big facebeater with no real board impact (destroying Lingering Souls does not count)... eh. For comparison, Primeval Titan was in Thundermaw's price range.
Sell Batterskull @ 9: Sell ASAP. These things can be had for $5-6 right now. If Wizards keeps printing OP equipment and creatures though, this guy could just stagnate, but if not, I could see $10 within a few yrs.
You might be able to get it a little cheaper than $3, but that's a card that's already tier 1 in Modern and is beginning to see a small amount of Legacy play, not to mention being nuts in EDH and probably in casual as well. I would buy for sure below 2.50, but I'm more of a hold at 3-4 for now. (Copping out, I know).
Here's one for you: Trading post at $1.00?

There's not really any downside to picking up some Pods. It's an interesting, potentially-combo-driving card, but it's not being played as such in Standard. There's always going to be some weird Pod deck in Modern, and essentially plays the role of quasi-GSZ. Worst-case scenario, you have 50 Birthing Pods and lose like $20 over a period of 6-12 months.
I'd buy Trading Post @ $1 too. At $1, you're swapping extra Lightning Bolts for this thing. It plays well with Tezz and Karn and just about everything else from Scars block, though everything rotates in a few months, but again, it's freaking $2 for a playset. Just buy a few and move on.
I really don't like picking up any of the "hot" cards of a new set till near the next set comes out. The prices just fluctuate so much in the beginning and in all likelihood will be near the top of their price of their whole time in standard. The only cards I could see not dropping much/at all that are rotating are cards that see casual/EDH play but no standard play (most of the praetors, unplayed planeswalkers, caged sun, mimic vat, etc).
Sell Ulvenwald Tracker at $0.75. He has that "1/1 with super-marginal upside" feel on him like Hex Parasite (or Scute Mob from long ago), and you know how much that card is now.
Buy Gavony Township at $1.50. Standard (OK, UW Delver) is de-powering once it loses Day of Judgment - you'll be stuck with toughness-based sweepers, or Mutilate (LOL Mono Black), or Planar Cleansing, or Terminus. That gives weenie decks a chance. That Gw deck by Travis Woo seems promising.
Buy Bloodghast at $2.75. I like anything that can enter the battlefield for free without jumping through too many hoops (Narcomoeba, Basking Rootwalla).
Sell Countryside Crusher at $2. Tarmogoyf is the de facto big dumb beater. This thing just ensures that you'll never get to 4 lands.
Buy Mox Opal at $5 and don't look back. I'd also have a hard time not buying Ulvenwald Tracker, a rare 1/1 for 1 with an interesting ability, at $0.75. I probably wouldn't buy 100 of them, but having a playset around for $3 seems like a reasonable risk/reward proposition.
There's been a lot of speculation that Karakas will be reprinted in the upcoming FTV: Realms. On one hand, it's a common, is banned in EDH, and is generally played only as a 1-of in Legacy (except for Death & Taxes, which runs 4). On the other hand, it's still extremely hard to find due to the scarcity of Legends, it has a unique and powerful effect, and the fact that it's banned in EDH makes it less likely that Wizards would want to print a premium foil of it.
Personally, I think that the closest analogue is Berserk. Ultimately, a reprint didn't hurt the value of Bersek all that much, and I could see the same thing happening here (although the key difference being that there is a higher demand for Karakas). FTVs have a very limited print run, so this would release only a few thousand on to the market. I could see it dropping to about $40 for a couple months following the release of FTV, and then slowly climbing back into the $60 range after 6 - 12 months.
So, if I'm thinking long term, I'm still going to buy Karakas at $50.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.

I'm thinking it will drop to 1 or 2 initially when it rotates then eventually rise to 10+
It's a good deal currently, but I worry that he'll drop soon (but I can't imagine him being worth less than $15).

Ulvenwald Tracker @ $.75
