Oh sorry, I meant the Kaladesh invention version of Mana crypt.
You'd better be sorry ;-)
Kidding aside, I'd call that a long-term hold. If you want to get into the short-term flip and rebuy, you're about four days too late for ideal results. More will be hitting the market tomorrow - or this evening, depending on your time zone. In general, Masterworks will appreciate, and this is one of the better ones.

Actually I like all of the reprint masterpieces as long term holds.
I agree. WotC has already stated that they're not going to repeat masterpieces and there's going to be some persistent demand for these, particularly the ones that are playable in eternal/non-rotating formats. Something like Vial is a lot more likely to go up than down after the initial burst of them hits the market.

Yeah, the set hasn't even been released yet. Hence my inclusion of the phrase "after the initial burst of them hits the market". Anyone reading this subforum should recognize that prices for preorder and immediately following the prerelease are more or less irrelevant long term. Virtually every card in the set is going to fall over the next few weeks, inventions included. There are only a tiny handful on the market right now so they're at a premium. That's why the advice you get from people who have spent any amount of time looking at the MtG market is almost invariably not to preorder cards or buy immediately after the release, unless you need them for an event or are very confident your card evaluation skills are better than the internet hivemind.
Most of the inventions are going to be good long term holds. Most of them are going to fall from their current prices after the set drops. Those two statements aren't mutually exclusive.

I do understand supply and demand. Unfortunately I missed my window to sell it right after the prerelease. I'll plan on holding it long term now.

For stuff like this, I feel like going out of your way to gain an extra $20-40 is not worth the time and effort spent getting rid of it...then patiently waiting for it to come down. That's just me though. Maybe it's also partially because I'm afraid the version I buy back won't be as "perfect," as a pack-fresh one.
Currently just waiting for Masterpiece Sword of Feast and Famine to go down. I absolutely adore that card.
Reprints the one card that people point to when saying that art objectifies women.
Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.
My suggestion listen to some comedy radio for a while, pandora is free, youtube is free there is something out there for you. ***** go make fun of somebody. The whole world is so serious and campaigning for some cause, or someones rights, everything is a hate crime, racist, sexist. blah blah blah.
"O no mcdonalds must be slandering a hate crime against skinny people every time they make a big mac." hahaha jeeze You're just someone perpetuating another groups negative perspective that they've made you believe is correct. Look at the picture for a hour and tell me what's wrong with it? I don't see anything.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
Legacy - Sneak Show, BR Reanimator, Miracles, UW Stoneblade
Premodern - Trix, RecSur, Enchantress, Reanimator, Elves https://www.facebook.com/groups/PremodernUSA/ Modern - Neobrand, Hogaak Vine, Elves
Standard - Mono Red (6-2 and 5-3 in 2 McQ)
Draft - (I wish I had more time for limited...)
Commander - Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build) (dead format for me)
Interested in short term or long term? Short term, that's fine. Copies are moving around $30, so $25 is reasonable right now. Long term, I would expect him to go up more. EDH playable foil legends tend to do well and named characters are a little less likely to see foil reprints, plus he's very popular and very powerful in EDH/casual play. DKA is only a few years old, so there's still room to grow.

I'm worried about her reprint. While she isn't a splashable card like tarmogoyf, she is in high demand in modern (jund/junk/8rack), will it fall with the reprint?

Do you need the card for a deck? Then buy it. If you don't need it for a deck, sell it. Mythic reprints in MM (like she'll probably be next year) don't typically crash prices, but they do rein them in and they can depress them.
Basically, you should only buy nonfoil Modern staples if you want to put them in a deck.

¿Hold or sell? ¿Its gonna go up more with Kaladesh PT?
Are you going to play it in the near future? Is your timeline the next week or so? How long-term are you looking if you're holding?
I´m not playing it, if I hold I can hold years, but pref. selling it when she is in her max price in the nearest future.
In that case, sell ASAP. The track record for cards holding above $40 isn't good. There might only be 1 or 2 like that in standard at any given time and they invariably decrease in value. With the exception of the 2 Jaces (Vryn's Prodigy and the Mind Sculptor) pretty much every other card went below $40 and usually below $30.
If you had an option of buying a playset of Snapcaster Mages for $150 today, would you?
TCGPlayer will send you a playset in NM condition for $160. So $150 isn't a great deal. I mean, it's a deal, certainly, and if you're looking to build one of the many decks that run him, go ahead. That's a fine price. Personally, I wouldn't, but that's because I both have my playset already, and am not planning on attending any big events where I could trade him.
Keep in mind that next March we're due to get Modern Masters 2017, which almost definitely has Snapcaster Mage in it. That's less than 6 months away. Even if he's printed as a mythic (which, because of price, he might), he'll take a temporary hit. That's not going to push his price down for very long - look at Noble Hierarch for a good example of a heavily-played card reprinted at rare that barely moved the needle. But if you're just looking to speculate or have them available "in case", I'd say hold on to your money until March.

Well, it might see print in a Modern Masters edition. It'd be a good candidate. That would lower the price. It's probably not going to see a Standard reprint again.
Personally, I don't think that Modern staples are good buys, in general, unless you're going to put them straight into a deck.

Yep. Agreed with Knick here. I'd keep the Judge foil and the Masterpiece versions. If its an EMA version (Foil or not), I'd sell.

As usual, I concur with Seal.
Unfortunately it's already dropped by $30....

He should drop. The amount of play he's seen in Modern since the inclusion of Grim Flayer has significantly decreased.
I'm not sure how it's doing in Standard though. Maybe that's what's keeping the price inflated?

Soooo this! With regular reprints of both MMA and EMA, there's little reason to purchase anything that you don't absolutely need right now for a deck.
