Following historical trends, these cards typically bottom out in December/January, then begin to start climbing again. Since it is still Standard legal and critical card for a tier 1 deck, people are still trying to play it. My guess is that it will continue to fall throughout the remainder of this year. I'd guess the low point will be in the $7 range or so. It's a staple in a couple modern decks so don't expect the bottom to completely fall out.
Given you can already purchase for $9, you might save $10 on a playset if you wait. It's up to you if it's worth the risk and lost playing time for $10.
Thanks for the response, i think the same, i'll just get 'em now and play right away.
If you can use everything listed, I would go for it. Land Tax and Helm alone probably go for almost that much, Helm is reserved and played in legacy, Vale is just reserved. I would still consider it if SP, anything below that is a judgment call and depends on individual conditions.

Really? Looking at the graphs, there seems to be an upward tick after a plateau.
You may be seeing activity from people who said "I need this card for a Legacy tourney in X days, so I'm willing to wait only so long". It may have reached a point where some folks said "I'll buy this card at that price", regardless of whether that's the nadir or not. I agree with Gerbil - the set's been out for five days at this point. Let more weekend drafts fire.

Really? Looking at the graphs, there seems to be an upward tick after a plateau.
That's probably true, but if you look at historical trends of cards, they typically run very high in price for the first month or so until supply catches up with demand. You historically see cards will bump up a bit and slowly decline. A single uptick does not make a trend.
So a while ago I tried to trade my Dark Confidants away for some Lions Eye Diamonds. That deal never happened and I never really looked at my Confidants again.
Today someone wanted to trade for them again and just as before, I'm still unsure what to do. I still love Dark Confidant as a card, but I never put him in a deck. Looking at mtgstocks it seems like I missed out when they where selling for twice as much and that currently the price has stabilised. Looking at MagicCardMarket the price is around 30€ and somewhat steadily climbing.
Then today they announced Modern Masters 2017. Is this a good time to offload them? If they do reprint him again (which I doubt, think he'll be replaced by Liliana) the price will tank. But if they don't, will the price rice (because more people will want to play Jund?) or will nothing happen?
The person wanting to trade for them is offering a revised Taiga, condition unknown, plus more. Probably looking at something like Taiga + 4 Khans fetches for 4 Dark Confidants; sell or leave it?
Recall that there were two black mythics in MM15 - Bob and BB. Lili could replace either of them (and, from its popularity, probably BB). If they do print him a third time in a row in the entirely-expected MM17, then his price may drop again. At 30, he's hardly a barrier to entry for a Jund deck - that honour goes to his costars Lili and Goyf.
All of that is saying that we don't know anything about whether he'll be reprinted or not and whether he'll go up or down or what.
Taiga is played in Legacy Elves when they're running Ruric Thar. It's also played in EDH, and it's one of the least (if not the absolute least) valuable/useful Revised duals. Yeah, trading Modern cards into Revised duals is supposed to be a snap-trade, but I'm not really buying it here. I don't think that I'd do this just to trade. If you need the Taiga, either for Legacy Elves or for an EDH deck, then by all means go for it, but if you're just trading to move your Bobs, I don't think I'd do it (especially if none of those KTK fetches are Blue, OR if the Taiga's not NM - either of those conditions is a dealbreaker).

This is a tricky one. On the one hand with Confidant being in both MM1 and MM2, its price has steadily decreased. I agree with your assessment and do not think it will be in MM3. That means we probably have some time to go before he's reprinted, meaning his value will probably slowly increase over time. You would likely be selling low.
With all that said, if you're able to trade them away for a taiga (NM) and 4 blue fetches, I'd have to think long and hard about it. It's a relatively even trade both for now and the near future (over the next 2-3 years). In a vacuum ,I'd lean ever so slightly toward a NM Taiga + 4 blue fetches if you can get that. But, usefulness trumps value. I'd go with whichever pile of cards I intended to play with.

This is pretty much my take on it. I'm a huge fan of trading recent stuff into duals, but Bob has been a lot higher recently and is likely still some ways off of another reprint. Taiga is not my first choice of dual to trade into, but you could still do a whole lot worse. I think both choices are reasonable, and would go with whichever stack you're more likely to use.

Definitely not. The set hasn't been out a week. They're quite a ways from the bottom still.
Conspiracy cards seem to have plateaued across the board. The set is sandwiched super closely between Eldritch Moon and Kaladesh, and with previews for the latter starting this weekend I imagine a lot of people are going to be saving their money for packs of that rather than doing Conspiracy drafts.

Thanks for the response everyone. Today I got the scans, and the front looks pretty good with some wear on the backside. I put the images up as attachments. If I can trade it for this Taiga and 4 blue fetches (2 Flooded, 2 Delta), would that be reasonable? I don't NEED the fetches, I have 6 of each, and I don't have any current plans for the Taiga. But since the Confidants have been in collection ever since Ravnica came out and rarely have been touched, I'm still inclined to move them since I can probably trade away the fetches and Taiga quicker for something I do need.
Yes, that would be a reasonable trade.

Thoughts on buying the new fastlands now or waiting? Lots of heavy speculation that they will be cross-format all-stars.
They're rares in a large, print to demand set with a couple chase mythics. I'd put odds at 95:5 that they drop. Wait for a couple of weeks after release. If you don't need them for standard and can afford to be patient, they're going to tank hard when they rotate out. Outside of standard, demand is pretty much exclusively modern and there's going to be a glut of them.

Do you think they'll drop a good bit sometime in-between standard rotation? I kinda want to test with the card, but I don't think I want to wait all year (or however long rotation is these days...).
Reprints the one card that people point to when saying that art objectifies women.
Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.
My suggestion listen to some comedy radio for a while, pandora is free, youtube is free there is something out there for you. ***** go make fun of somebody. The whole world is so serious and campaigning for some cause, or someones rights, everything is a hate crime, racist, sexist. blah blah blah.
"O no mcdonalds must be slandering a hate crime against skinny people every time they make a big mac." hahaha jeeze You're just someone perpetuating another groups negative perspective that they've made you believe is correct. Look at the picture for a hour and tell me what's wrong with it? I don't see anything.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.

The prices are at a high point right now. The set hasn't even dropped. It's rare for preorder prices to be the lowest price for a card, even while they're in standard. I can only think of a couple cases in the last 5-6 years off the top of my head where that was true.
Fastlands are a known quantity and at rare. There's going to be plenty of supply and everyone has some idea of how good they're going to be from the last time they were in standard and from modern. It's very unlikely that they're going to outperform expectations enough on the whole to spike the prices up from the presale prices, so you're really just concerned with particular color combos doing well at a high profile tournament. A couple weeks after the set release, there will have been a lot of product opened and the standard metagame won't be particularly well defined (I think? I don't follow standard at all and don't know when the big events are). You should be able to get a decent price at that point.
Anything farther into their standard life is dependent on future prints and how the metagame shapes up, so it's almost impossible to predict with the information we have now. Preorder prices being higher than post-release prices is almost a certainty, though.

2 Liliana, the Last Hope, keep or sell?
seems she's here to stay for a long time at the current price, coz it's really good
also need mentioning, that i'm planning on getting back into standard with the release of Kaladesh, if there are good card for a homebrew UBx control deck, but mainly playing modern and draft.

Liliana, the Last Hope has a lot of Standard potential, so if you're looking to brew something in Standard I'd definitely keep her. I don't know about her Modern applications; I've heard that she's good, but not as powerfully versatile as her older sister.
Disclosure: Personally, she's gracing the front page of my trade binder, but I don't play Standard. If someone offered me $50 in cash, I'd probably take it. But again, I don't play Standard (and I barely play MLV these days), so my use case is different.

At what price?
I presume that TKS = Thought-Knot Seer. It's Modern and Legacy playable, so it's certainly a legit card. However, as a rare it doesn't have a huge growth potential. I'd pick up a set to play with at $20, but not as an investment.

Ebay completed is $15-20 which on my budget means sell unless I have an immediate use for it, which I don't. (I mainly play casual and draft, and I have no foreseeable plans to get into Legacy.) Then again it feels "special" enough to keep in the collection until it finds a deck, so I'm waffling.

Show and Tell is a Legacy staple, and at $20 (TCGMarket price), that's about as low as it's going to go until it gets another reprint. I'd label this a mid-term hold. Keep it for a year or two and move it then (when you're not competing with every other player who got a nice mythic from CN2).
