Armada Wurm
Do you think this card will maintain it's $15 price tag? Craig Wescoe thinks that it will drop while Chas Andres think it will hold its price if it finds a home (and I think it will).
Good thing I pulled a foil one in a box of RtR I purchased at midnight.
As the others mentioned, Armada Wurm will still see value at a minimum of $10. Some variant G/W decks that have Trostani, Voice of Selesnya love running Armada Wurm because you gain 10 life and populate.
I predict it loses 50% of it's value. I predict the same thing for virtually every card in RTR, except one (not telling until I build up a stock of copies).

I predict more than one card in RTR will maintain or rise in price.

Not Armada Wurm because there's at least three seemingly competitive (possibly tier 1) G/W/X builds where he's a finisher/enabler.
And yes, many will lose ~50% of value but not for AT LEAST 2 months. This shortage is just starting to be felt and some fear it could last longer than Innistrad lasted (~1.5 months).
I think Armada Wurm is going to peak @ $30 if it's in a tier 1 deck being it's sold-out already @ many big retailers/dealers.
It's an instant speed 5/5 trampler for 4. Wtf do you people want seriously? It has applications in populate/ above the curve beats decks, or in Bant control/ flash. I seriously think anyone mad at this card for any reason other than losing an attacker to instant speed wurm, should go home and make their own awesome card game and leave the rest of us alone.

Not a chance of peaking at $30. It'a already at it's peak. It's a fine card, but pales in comparison to Angel. I could buy dozens of Wurms right now if I wanted to so it is certainly not sold out. And decks that play both are going to play more Angels than Wurms.
Yeah the Wurm is basically always going to be playing second fiddle to Angel of Serenity. This doesn't mean people are just going to stop using it but it does mean that it will stabilize lower than the Angel does, and probably lower than it is now. 8-10 sounds right. There will be a 2-3$ spike every now and then when the meta moves away from cards that can beat it and it becomes a really scary thing to see across the table, but by and large it will be a big dumb beater that most people will be able to beat one way or another, and it won't be a marquee threat the way Geist of St Traft or Huntmaster can be, so it won't command those kinds of prices for long.

I'm guessing that this card is either Mizzium Mortars or Cyclonic Rift.

The only good thing about this post is the edible chocolate roaches they gave out! Mmm mmm!

Wait a minute, edible roaches don't crawl! EDIBLE ROACHES DON'T CRAWL!
I'm guessing that this card is either Mizzium Mortars or Cyclonic Rift.
Both of those cards are good, but I think they are priced about right. Probably $3 rares in a month. Mortars could go up a bit. Cyclonic rift is a limited bomb, but is potentially a touch too expensive to overload, and a touch too expensive to play without overloading. I think $1-$2.
As regarding the post above that says some cards will appreciate, that is undoubtedly true, but I think it's very tough to predict those cards. I have my eyes on one though...
Armada Wurm is the typical over-hyped card. See: Thundermaw Hellkite. Is is really good? Obviously. Will it maintain it's price? My prediction is the same as for Hellkite--no way.
(Also, obviously the cards will have a month of high prices before dropping).
It's going to be way more than a month of high prices... heck, States is going to cause another significant jump all by itself. Remember when Contested War Zone shot up for a good week because of supply issues @ SC and social media? Well, this year @ States has the making of some INSANE inflations which will last much longer than a week. Starcity is already screaming to use "pick-up-on-site" for ALL pre-orders... something they've NEVER done before.
I agree Angel of Serenity has more "potential" than Wurm. Heck my own list is x4 Angel / x2 Wurm, LOL. But the developing competitive here and an aggregate "Pros list" has Wurm to Angel ratio and nearly 2:1.
So yes, it depends on what breaks-out here soon as a fighter for tier-1. But anyway we look at it, there is going to be insane prices for probably at least 6 weeks... which still affects casual and everything to an extent.

I seriously think anyone mad at this card for any reason other than losing an attacker to instant speed wurm, should go home and make their own awesome card game and leave the rest of us alone.
I think it'll stay put. Here's why:
-Restoration Angel
-Mythic Rarity
-Lack of 6-drops with Titans and Wurmcoil gone
-Populate
-etc.
Only argument could be that GW isn't a T1 deck so there will be less demand. There's gonna be like a dozen kinds of aggro in standard from now on and even with mana dorks 6 mana could be too much without some ultra-ETB effects like the mythic angel.
If tokens makes its presence known, and a populate build shows up, it could stay near its current price.
If G/W/X midrange/ramp/things turns into a deck, it could retain its value or only lose a little.
If spitting out 2 creatures from 1 card turns out to be underwhelming, watch it drop in price.
With the apparent speed at which Zombies will operate, and potential Mono Red/Rakdos aggro decks that will appear alongside Next-Level-Delver decks, not to mention speculation on Jund, 6 might be too slow, or 2 ground-pounders may not do anything to those flying 4 and 5 drops Jund can run.
There are also several 2-cmc spells that can hit half of the card (selesnya charm, dreadbore, abrupt decay, bounce spell, mono-colored removal spell). Sure it still leave a 5/5, but 1 wurm is still only blocking 1 creature....and on turn 5/6 blocking 1 creature may not be enough to live.
I think the idea of populating your six drop is a bit win-more. Plus, after dropping armada wurm do you really have cards left in hand? (for example didn't you already use your restoration angel?) obviously if you untap with two 5/5 trampling wurms you probably win. Most six drops win the game if you untap with them. I can't see the card maintaining the $15 tag long term. Now, in the short term I could see a quick demand-based increase because of states. I am sure people will test it at the very least if they remember Broodmate Dragon.
In summation.....Star Trek wins a prolonged naval battle against superior, yet less technologically advanced, numbers, with Picard leading the assault, while Kirk takes your soul by laying out Solo and probably his manservant Chewy as well, before impregnating and ditching your Princess.
after testing against aggro, trostani on board you play armada wurm, gain ten life and get 10 power on board. unanswered you can close the game by swing - then populate, gain 5 life. i can see where the value in that comes from. But yes, if aggro and control can best that kind of value then I can for sure see a dip in value. Then again, my meta has quite a few G/W fanboys I can see it being a hot commodity amongst anyone who enjoys playing those colors.

The best decks, imo, are running ~2 wurms and using as "stall/distraction" for a next turn Angel of Serenity. There's plenty of ramp with up to 8 dorks, farseek, elk and a few others. But, yes, Armada Wurm fits in significantly more aggro decks than the Angel ---> more demand.
After selling out many times this week, Starcity just bumped Armada Wurm to $20. SC also bumped the Angel to $20 but Wurms have sold more (Troll and Toad has been sold-out for most of the week).
Prices on almost everything isn't coming down anytime soon, folks, you've been warned on MTG Salvation by many people in many places. Grab what you need now if you are going to use in it the next couple months.

No one at my LGS will even consider trading their Armada Wurms. Thankfully I have 3.
If Primeval Titan could hit 50+ and stay solid over 30 for several months....then Armada Wurm will probably stay around 20+....absolutly no lower than 15 for the forseeable future.
