I have a somewhat related question - I still have Political Puppets and Heavenly Inferno sealed precons (unfortunately opened the other three). Would it be a good idea to keep them sealed? Are the prices on these precons going to keep going up or will they stabilize after a while? I really wish I hadn't sold my Scavenging Ooze at $16 but hey, what's done is done.

As a general rule sealed will always be worth more since you can always crack it and there will be less seals in tact as time goes on but expect to wait a while before you see much of a premium.

Well, the reason I ask about these precons in particular is that besides Flusterstorm, I don't see many high-value cards (i.e. Scavenging Ooze for Counterpunch). If I still had a sealed Counterpunch I would probably open it, sell the Scavenging Ooze and maybe a few other $1-5 cards, then keep the rest for my collection. A lot of the value of Heavenly Inferno seems to be in small value cards and casual demand. I see on eBay Heavenly Inferno is already up to around $40-45 (whereas around November-ish they were $25-30) so value has started to creep up already due to being OOP. I just don't know how far it will go.
ordered 6 boxes total at an average of about $34, shipped. Only 2 are coming from Go Hastings. I wanted at least 4, so I can sell/trade playsets. I did preemptively email Go Hastings and told them I didn't want substitutions; I got a form-letter back just saying that they will ship me what I ordered. We'll see.
All the decks that run ooze run 4 gsz EXCEPT a rogue delver list that ran 2 ooze.
K, thanks. I was stoked when I went to the shop right outside my dorm. They had just 3 Commander Decks left, and 1 of them was Counterpunch.
Unfortunately the other two were Political Puppets and Mirror Mastery...which are cool, but I already own Puppets, and well...I was hoping for Heavenly Inferno, because that was the one I wanted the most ever since it was spoiled. I kinda wish I hadn't waited, simply because everyone seems to be going out of their way to get those two (Heavenly Inferno and Counterpunch).

Man, wasn't Chaos Warp really expensive as well when it first came out? I checked recently, and it went down a lot now. :/

Good luck with Go Hastings. Apparently things go bad there (according to this thread).
Reprints the one card that people point to when saying that art objectifies women.
Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.
My suggestion listen to some comedy radio for a while, pandora is free, youtube is free there is something out there for you. ***** go make fun of somebody. The whole world is so serious and campaigning for some cause, or someones rights, everything is a hate crime, racist, sexist. blah blah blah.
"O no mcdonalds must be slandering a hate crime against skinny people every time they make a big mac." hahaha jeeze You're just someone perpetuating another groups negative perspective that they've made you believe is correct. Look at the picture for a hour and tell me what's wrong with it? I don't see anything.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
snagged the last counterpunch at my local target oddly enough they only had this and political puppets...

Does anyone know if the condition of the box matters much for the value of a sealed copy of Heavenly Inferno, picked one up at wal-mart yesterday to possibly resell and will probably just return it if the box condition matters too much for the value cause it's a little scuffed up. I'm seeing them on ebay with BIN of ~$50 but I can't check completed listings since I'm at work.

A few weeks ago, I saw just the cards in the sealed plastic end for 35-45. So, I'm guessing the box isn't huge to everyone if they are going to crack it.
Plains - John Avon - 230
Island - Jung Park - 235
Island - Vincent Proce - 237
Swamp - John Avon - 238
Mountain - John Avon - 242
Forest - John Avon - 246
Why exactly is Heavenly Inferno ~$50+? For the casual appeal?
Collectors, it being an actually quite fun deck, and the most popular of all of the commader decks by an easy 2 to 1 margin. All shops and all areas Ive seen sold out of the heavenly inferno deck far before any of the others. Plus the deck isnt terrible from a value perspective. Though the sealed deck itself is currently selling for greater than its singles value last I checked. Which I attribute mostly to there being far fewer of those decks (outside of the sudden and abrupt sellouts of the counterpunch decks recently) than any of the others and greater demand. Look at the old duel decks as an example of what supply and demand can do for sealed product, or many old OOP booster boxes of magic.
With the rise of potentially fun angels (and demons) in AVR, do you guys think Heavenly Inferno will peak right before AVR is released?
There were a couple at Target yesterday so I bought the one that had the best packaging. Wondering if I should list it on ebay to coincide with the AVR release or just keep holding it.
(Also, related, they also had at least one of each non Counterpunch deck)

I snagged a less than perfect condition Heavenly Inferno the other day. I'm just planning on keeping it sealed for a long time.
I'm hoping in a few years from now, it will have some appeal, although it being a bit scuffed up does worry me a bit.
I haven't had any other luck with the precons around here.

Be careful with decks that look a little beat up.
As I've noted in a few other threads, people are buying these, opening them, taking out the deck, and replacing with crap commons/uncommons/lands and resealing them to return. I got a counterpunch that way. It was done very well.
Luckily Target let me return it, but I'm sure if any time passes, you'll be out of luck.
I found another and opened it on the spot to make sure it was the real deal.

Bringing this one way back from the dead, but, I did some searching and there weren't any newer posts that really hit the same notes.
Anyhow, I checked last night to see that a sealed Heavenly Inferno (the original edition with the big commanders) is now around the $130 mark. Seems like this, and the others (around $70-75) will just continue to rise? I haven't been paying attention to MTG news lately, but there's still no rumors of these exact ones being reprinted, right? Any news on 2015 editions?
It was implied that we would get some news on the Commander 2015 decks at Comic Con.
If they're wedge decks I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the Commander 2012 Generals reprinted in them, but I doubt they're just going to reprint the whole deck.
If you have sealed decks, I don't think you need to worry so much about losing value, they are priced for a different market. Collectors would bs the ones who want, sealed decks, players would just buy the cards individually and make the deck how they want.
As a general rule sealed will always be worth more since you can always crack it and there will be less seals in tact as time goes on but expect to wait a while before you see much of a premium.
Currently looking to buy miscut Homelands, (my wife thinks I'm crazy too).

I guess to the collector it matters.
