BIN prices are sold out sub-$50 and holding at $50. Most auctions are firing at $50 or more, but many may be inflated by pre-ban bids.
Jace will probably remain a $60 card unless it gets forced out of Legacy. It's a 4-of in any deck playing it, a staple of Vintage, still nuts in Extended, and likely an integral element in Modern, if that becomes a thing. Also essential for blue EDH decks.
I think most people are willing to hold on Jace if they can't get value out of it, as it's still ridiculous in all non-Standard formats. There is no reason to think suddenly because Jace isn't in Standard it's going to be a $20-30 card. I doubt, but would also not be surprised, if it hit $40 for some time if the market got flooded.

well I wouldn't say that it is a instant 4 of, only in the case of a few decks. Most decks run ~2 now, though it may creep up as the meta changes. And in vintage it usually competes against tezz, which straight up wins the game in 2 turns basically, its usually preference which one is used.
I'd say there is a great chance JTMS and/or SFM get banned/restricted in the new Modern/Overextended... he should be safe in Legacy, however.
Jace maybe for modern, but LOL if you think SFM would be banned in modern. It has a much larger card pool so SFM will just be another "good" card. Let's ban Knight of the Reliquary in modern too. Or Tarmogoyf. Or Dark Confidant.

Post less. Three months ago everyone LOL'd at people that said SFM would get banned in Standard, and here we are. Can you consult your crystal ball and tell us what going to happen in a format that doesn't even exist yet? I wait with baited breath.
Did you see WoTCs banned list for the Community Cup for Modern? There were less powerful cards than SFM on the banned list. HTH.
I think Jace will stay between $40-$50 for a while and then slowly move back up in price but I think that might take a while.
I have to question how many Legacy players still need Jace. The most I can see the average player needing is 2, if that. I would expect the real demand from newer Legacy players like myself. I just got back into MTG so don't have any Jaces and am just finishing up a Merfolk deck. With Standard players I guess it depends on how many of them either didn't have Jace or traded him to help with the transition costs. The problem is when will they buy Jace?
Maybe things are different in North America but over here in Japan most of the Legacy players seem to have everything they need, unless they are buying cards for a new deck.

Well i'm in the camp who disagrees with the banning anyway. Jitte survived standard and people ran jittes just to combat jitte, and a lot of games could be decided by who got theirs online first and turned their creature sideways.
Tarmogoyf unlike stoneforge only needs a forest (i say that loosely) to be relevant and by turn 3 can start turning 90 degrees for 2+ damage. With stoneforge you need to dedicate card slots to it and it's essentially a squire that cheats in weapons for you. Lets say you batterskull or cheat in a sword on turn 3. You will still have to wait for turn 4 before either one does anything, while goyf was a threat on turn 3 and didn't get banned from any formats. The only argument is that goyf just attacks and blocks, but that's the same as the "dies to removal/can be countered" arguments with any creature. The only benefit stoneforge would have against removal is that it's still a +1 that forced removal, but +1 CA won't matter when you have 0 life.

It's the same all around, the "average legacy player" who's been playing longer than the past year usually has been playing the game for a few and therefore has a lot of cards/access to them. Cards don't rotate so it's easier to get everything you need overtime to play whatever deck you want.
With Jaces any legacy player who played standard and hadn't dumped theirs beforehand will just keep them for legacy. There's plenty of people in legacy who already had them anyway because it is legacy playable. some of us (including myself) cashed out our jaces in preparation for the fall and now will pick them up again before they start rising, but overall the supply will out do the demand from legacy players. Keep in mind how many people play standard over legacy, and that jace is a 4-of in standard but many legacy decks have it as a 2-of (with some exceptions being team america and landstill)
When do you guys think is the best time to buy JTMS? It dropped a whole lot yesterday, and I'm waiting for it to drop even more before I pick it up.
Jace is a legacy/vintage staple, right? Which means that it will dip after it's no longer standard-playable (now), and then go back up due to legacy/vintage demand.
Next week when the banned list is hit. Anyone cashing out their jaces will probably wait until then to sell if they have a PTQ this upcoming weekend, or are going to the SCG open.
And that depends on supply vs. demand. A lot of eternal players have picked them up prior to the announcement, and the rest will be over the next month, once that's satisfied, any left over will probably be stable. Players who play eternal and standard will just keep their jaces anyway and won't be driving the price up. Jace is a 2-4 of in legacy depending on the deck, and not all blue decks care about him anyway.
It may not even drop further with this kind of speculation. Everyone expects jace to drop heavily for now, and bounce back (very rational reasoning though) so it may stay where it's at now just because the speculators buying in now in hopes to resell in 6 months or a year are trying to pick them up too while on the cheap.
The only comparisons we have to jace is Tarmogoyf, which got hit heavy when extended rotation changed, but has since started recovering from its fall.

I agree with this completely. I would also like to add that I would make sure I always have cash available to buy Jaces when playing MTG for the next while if you want to pick up Jaces. Maybe you can pick some up between dealers buy prices and the new retail price as a lot of people will be looking to move them. It will probably be a lot easier to trade for them now as well if you have the top Mythics from the current block like Koth/Tezz. I would bring a well stocked trade binder the next couple of weeks to try to trade to the panic sellers.

Agreed. Grabbing a playset or two now for trading later is beneficial. Foils haven't dropped as much but some might try to dump theirs so getting them on the cheap now can happen. The current buy prices are so low that competiting offers is very easy. With SCG buying jace for $20, i'm sure many will cash out at $35-40 just in case it drops further from it's current $50 price tag.
Would any of you guys suggest getting rid of them? I have 3 currently. Was thinking of selling them now (ebay) and getting them back some time in the future if the price does go down (ebay).
Asking because I enjoy playing with them, and was thinking of building a Legacy deck.
Reprints the one card that people point to when saying that art objectifies women.
Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.
My suggestion listen to some comedy radio for a while, pandora is free, youtube is free there is something out there for you. ***** go make fun of somebody. The whole world is so serious and campaigning for some cause, or someones rights, everything is a hate crime, racist, sexist. blah blah blah.
"O no mcdonalds must be slandering a hate crime against skinny people every time they make a big mac." hahaha jeeze You're just someone perpetuating another groups negative perspective that they've made you believe is correct. Look at the picture for a hour and tell me what's wrong with it? I don't see anything.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.

I think I've seen more threads for people wanting to buy them after they got banned than I did before. They haven't fallen very much and I think they're probably at their lowest right now, which is $45 or so.
Seems to be holding at $50 - $60, and you're lucky to buy at $45. I'm not seeing the kind of selling people expected, and JTMS is effectively in rotation. I can't imagine those who would sell at rotation would not have done so already ahead of the ban going into effect.

The card still has 3 days of play left and some wait till the day of to drop them. To them any day they can play a event with them is a use. After friday it may dip more so.

Yes, I would definately sell now and buy them back later. They will go down more before climbing again.

WoTC, thank you for finally announcing the Modern format, an eternal format where everyone can participate.
You sure about that? I'm seeing a glut of people trying to buy Jace at $40-45 now.

It there are in fact a huge number of waiting buyers the demand will be high enough to limit supply and therefore keep prices at around where they are now. Sure, people are holding to play as long as they can, but I do not know of any big events unless I'm missing something here.

Do you think loss from ebay and paypal fees from selling now and buying back later might stunt any sizeable profit? For those saying that it'll drop further, how much further would it drop?

Guessing $30-40 after the dust settles, then he'll begin a slow climb back up, spiking again during extended season next year.
