Before I start, I just want to say that I know the future is impossible to predict. I just want to get everyone's educated opinion on what might be expensive in the future.
What cards do you guys think are going to be worth big money in the future, and why? Personally, I think Null Rod is going to be worth a lot some day. Paper is only 12 right now, but it's 40 on MTGO. Some day, they're going to accidentally print an artifact with a broken ability, and Null rod will be the perfect way to stop it. It just has so much potential because it affects every activated ability of every artifact. Also, being on the reserve list, it can only get better with time.
Foil 7th Edition Goblin Matrons go up every year at a steady rate, doubly so for foreign ones. Just sayin'.
But seriously though, we have no idea.
At some point, many cards are going to be far out of reach for the average Joe.
Then we have to play Standard.
In all seriousness, every Dredge staple is a safe bet, especially now.
Anything on the reserved list. 10 years is a lot of time for cards to become "rarer" when they've been out of print. Any cards with demand from the list will continue to appreciate value unless an alternative is made or wizards finally says "forget it" and breaks the policy.
5 years from now is something I look at every day as a trader for a few reasons. It's a long time away, but i imagine i'll still be trading then so it's good to know what i'll want to have at that point in time.

Alpha, Beta, Legends, Arabian Nights, Antiquities, et all will all take a bump in price - even the commons and uncommons.
White borders and classic frames may become a premium.

I am petitioning to get players to stop complaining about mythic rarity. Sig this to join the cause.

Duals are $50-$150 and mox are around $500.
So u would speculate in 5 years Duals will be $75-$225 and in 10 years $100 - $300.
