I doubt it. His time in Constructed has passed. He's a strong EDH general which keeps his price up, especially the foil version. Get him now, cause he won't get any cheaper any time soon.

A mere ten days after the Mending, a young knight of Valeron and a young ranger of Eos made a discovery that would change Alara forever.
Nothing in this game is degenerate or completely dominant. They haven't banned anything in standard in a long, long time. Hell they should have banned affinity right away, but they didn't until boxed sales collapsed too. Hasbro had to come in and fire people.
I'll enjoy watching all the whiners eat crow monday.
Rafiq is going to be a foil card in this year's From the Vault release. I'd wait a bit.
I doubt that will affect the value much if at all. I think that his value is as good as it's going to get. If you want him, I'd suggest buying him now.
Let me get this straight... You are wondering if a $4 card will get any cheaper? Just get it and thank yourself for not getting the Happy Meal that that $4 would have bought. If he does get reprinted it kills his Value and he goes down to what? $2? A loss of $2 over how many months?

Damn right!
At first I thought that maybe the online stores are maybe $6, but BB.com shows it as low as $3.25. If you can't pay that much, it's hard to play any format in Magic.

As above, he's currently a $3 Mythic that doubles as a popular general in EDH and is Extended legal. At worst, his value will fall when he rotates out of Extended or after a FTV print, at best, his value is going to rocket up as fewer copies circulate because everyone is snatching up their Rafiq in a mad rush to curb the available supply.
That last one was a joke. I'll be here all week. Tip your waitress.
I would say pick one up. Its already a 4 dollar mythic that sees play as an EDH general. The foils wont be dropping much but a 4 dollar playable mythic isnt a bad price. If it drops, it would go down to 2 dollars at most. The way I see it, if I buy a card for 4 dollars and play it for 6 months then it drops 2 dollars, its money well spent since i enjoyed playing the card.
Hey guys, on that note, you think basic lands will go down some? I've been waiting to pick up like 30 of them, but 10 cents each from my LGS is rough.
Basically the same thread right there. Will they drop as more enter the supply? Maybe, but Rafiq won't have nearly as many entering from FTV as lands will from... well.. everything.
Many have said the same without baiting. Troll warning.
Odds of pulling a JtMS from a WWK pack: 1:80
Odds of pulling any specific rare in 5th Edition: 1:133
So, on average, 1 JtMS every 2.222 boxes or 1 Bird of Paradise every 3.694 boxes. Yeah, I'll take my odds with Mythics, they are easier to get than old rares.

My reply to the OP conveyed the same message as yours but did so in a respectful manner. Yes his question is a tad odd and one thats not normally asked but that doesn't mean we should be disrespectful and make fun of him. I am not trying to attack you at all, just saying. The nicer you are, the nicer others will be and the better the forums will function

But what if I'm a jackass?
Jokes aside, you're right, I could have been more respectful. The correct way to have phrased that would have been:
At $3.25 it does not have much room for dropping anymore, but it does have room for growth as EDH grows in popularity and due to the lower print run caused by his mythic rarirty.

When my gut reaction is "Dude, give me your address and I will send you one for free" I have a hard time with it too. But, I also know some of the kids at the shop are trying to support a habit with the money their parents give them and $4 is actually a real amount of money.
I heard someone ask if they should wait to buy Ajani Goldmane a few months ago and literally left a hand print on my forehead when I facepalmed.

For some reason I was under the impression we were talking about the foil version of Rafiq. But yeah, normal version probably is going to stay where it is now.

To put it simply, foil version will drop, regular should stay put. Over time it should go up though.
Honestly this is the case. $4 legend to $20 legends, unless a better version comes out they aren't going anywhere south of their current price. EDH has proven strong and healthy over the past years and now has received a substantial boost in popularity. All playable generals are actually worth something purely because of this.
I doubt foil versions will drop by much, and if it does it will spring up quickly. People will still want the original over FTV. There's a lot of people who dislike FTV foils. It also will depend on if it gets old or new art. Look at FTV Sensei's Divining Top and Aether Vials vs the originals pack versions.

I think a lot of people look for the original foils because they are far more rare than the FTV version. Also the FTV cards tend to warp quite a bit :/

I agree. I personally don't play any FTV Foils and I've bought many of each of the Relics and Exiled. (Haven't opened any yet.)

All the assumptions of the foil price behavior from FTV is based on the fact that the new FTV: Legends will have the same print run as previous ones. If Wizards decides to print more then the foils will definitely drop more so than normal.
Speaking of which, does anyone have any type of data regarding print runs on FTV: Dragons vs FTV: Relics? From my small, limited experience it sure seemed like FTV Relics was more available than dragons. (Also see how the original duel decks are more expensive than the later ones due to print run increases).

I could have sworn there was a number like 5,000 or 10,000 attached to these. To make them available enough you can find them, but collectible enough that they're still a rarity in their own rights,.
I've been waiting a long time to buy Rafiq of the Many now, and I was just curious, does anybody think he'll drop even cheaper?
