How much would you say the commander decks are worth? I've seen $120 recently for all 5, but Channelfireball sells them for $200. My LGS sells them for $150 also. I have a place where I can preorder them for $100 each. It is seemingly a great deal. What do you think about this deal and do you think there could be resell value (unopened of course).

Umm, if you can get them for $100 for a set, then go for it. Retail is $30/deck or $150 for a set, and even then these things are going to sell like hotcakes. Places are selling out of them online at $35/$175 respectively, so thats an indication. On a related note, Ive seen a whole bunch of people that have never played EDH before that have been asking about it, and looking at getting one or more of the new decks and getting into the format. Im not going to say the format is going to blow up after these things release, but it should see a decent sized surge in the amount of players, which should lead to at least some additional increased demand as those people look to upgrade their decks or try out new things.
Does anyone think the prices of the decks are going to hold at $35-$40 a piece online? I've heard that the commander decks aren't going to be a limited print run like the duel decks, and it seems likely that after the hype dies down they will drop back down to $30.
On a related note: Where did you see a set of all 5 decks going for even $150 shipped, let alone $120? Since they spoiled the decklists, they've all been marked up to at least $35 apiece.

Quote from Fry, from Futurama »
It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for the winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. But then the winter came and the grasshopper died and the octopus ate all his acorns. And also he got a racecar. Is any of this getting through to you?
Its definitely all hype as walmarts will have them for msrp. Paying more is silly. If you have a game shop or access to mtg cards anywhere locally its not like you can't get these at a nearby walmart.
Also we've seen a lot of hype in products lately all across the board. I guess if the bigger retailers can get people to buy them above msrp then power to them. A sucker born everyday. Any game stores that try to sell above msrp though are only going to hurt themselves.
Also brag thread. If you can't figure out 100 bucks for commander precons isn't a good deal then you're in the wrong section. Its a no brain answer. I'll take that offer from you if you're that unsure.

$120 was at CoolStuffInc.com I believe. They have since raised their prices. $150 is at my LGS, which is GMI games and collectibles in Riverside.
I don't think of it so much as a brag thread but if I should purchase extra sets to sell to others. Obviously I will buy 1 set for myself for play, but I would like to buy a few extras to sell perhaps. I learned a lot from this thread though, although sometimes it is tough to find stuff at Wal Mart.

Silly yes, but I totally understand the willingness to pay extra to get it today instead of saving 3% to wait 2 weeks.
