theres really two ways to do this as I see it. one, although a lot more time intensive, may make you more money, and that is seperate out playsets of fairly desired cards, and sell them individually. It will take a lot more work on your part, but you may make some decent money, depending on what commons and uncommons you have.
The other way is to sell the whole lot in bulk- you will get a lot less for it than if you broke down the stuff, especially if you dont list what is in the lot- but it will save you a ton of time, and if just getting rid of it is more important to you than making top dollar, thats the way to go

I couldn't be an active member here without at least one infraction point!
I usually sell batches of 10-20k unsorted commons and uncommons at PTQs and the like after a year or so of drafts, etc and get basically gas money for two tanks of gas.
You can usually get $2-3/1000 commons and uncommons if you sell to dealers, if they are unsorted and you don't know what if you have, which is why pulling good cards that may be worth money is important if you intend to sell bulk, because you will be losing soooo much money in value when you sell the cards.
Starcity gives you $4 dollars per 1000 in person. Other stores may give you $5 per thousand.
Unless you have cards like Aether Vial, Sensei's Divining Top, Isochron Scepter, etc, there's no reason to break up the cards into playsets. If you have playsets of playable cards that will sell for 5+, it's worth it. Otherwise, you're doing a lot of work to make a dollar here and there (if that). It's not worth you're time. But certainly make sure you're not bulking out something that isn't bulk.

Thanks to Craven at Epic Graphics!
I just bought a set. I am new to MTG and thought it might be fun to go through them with my son and see what's there.
I have bought 10k from a local player getting out of the game for $100. It has been a blast going through all the cards (mostly UC).
Cheap, clean fun.
Now if I could just get the hang of the massive complexities of this game...
