So, with Lyzolda, the Blood Witch being one of my favorite legendary cards, i always wondered what's up with her eyes? They look like she is blind, but that's not the case, right? Is it some "magic" glow or is she indeed blind?
If im not mistaken lore wise Lyzolda, the Blood Witch doesn't exist
but there is a Izolda, the blood Witch.
It was a miscommunication between the teams.
They were meant to be the same character. After it was printed though, Cory Herndon said that one was the probably the successor of the other, to make the best of an awkward situation.

Yes, they messed up with the names, but as i understand it, the card was meant to represent Izolda character from the book, so the art was commissioned with her description in mind.
She's not blind.
It's just a glow to make her look menacing.
Remove the pupils of a character and their gaze becomes disconcerting.
You right, it's the most likely explanation. It's just that this "glow" is not actually glowing and is more reminiscent of the Mayael the Anima's blindness then of the way glowing eyes are usually look like in Magic art.

Eh, they do that occasionally, like with Nissa Revane.
Ravnica: Then and Now said Lyzolda was ripped apart and devoured in the Dissension novel, so it seems that they're no longer using the "ancestor and descendant" explanation.

Thanks to Rivenor of Miraculous Recovery Signatures!
Good point, thanks.
The same thing happened with Hesperia (novel, mentioned a couple of times by Obez Murzeddi) and Isperia (card).
