Simple question. Say I have some creatures on the battlefield and there is a tapped Nevinyrral's Disk out. Would it make sense to hard cast a Bridge from Below?
My main question is, if a comprehensive sweeper like Engineered Explosives on 3 or Disk gets popped while I control both creatures and a hard cast Bridge from Below, will the Bridge trigger when all of the creatures die simultaneously and replace them with zombies? Thanks!
No, that won't work. Because of their 'intervening if' clauses, the Bridge's abilities work only from the graveyard, and 'die' triggers and other triggered abilities that specifically trigger from something leaving the battlefield need to be in place right before the event in order to trigger, they don't work if they're only in place after the event.
Now, you may already know this, but just to be thorough, if the Bridge is already in your graveyard when multiple creature controlled both by you and by opponent(s) die simultaneously, as the Bridge's owner, and thus the controller of its triggered abilities, you get to order them on the stack how you want, so you can get all your zombie tokens before the Bridge gets exiled.
I'm a former judge (lapsed), who keeps up to date on rules and policy. Keep in mind that judges' answers aren't necessarily more valid than those of people who aren't judges; what matters is we can quote the rules to back up our answers. When in doubt, ask for such quotes.
