How do you know when abilities in the graveyard work? For example, reassembling skeletons has the ability 1B: Return Reassembling Skeleton from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped. It's fairly obvious that this ability only works from the graveyard, but is there a specific ruling regarding this?
Another example that comes to mind is Bridge from Below. I know what it does; I'm not questioning that. But there's nothing on the card that states it's a "graveyard ability" besides the fact that it says "if ~ is in your graveyard." Hence, it almost seems like a catch 22 in that it needs to be in play for the ability to "activate," but the ability's requirement is that it's in the graveyard.
112.6k. An ability whose cost or effect specifies that it moves the object it’s on out of a particular zone functions only in that zone, unless that ability’s trigger condition, or a previous part of that ability’s cost or effect, specifies that the object is put into that zone.
Any specific card that has an ability which functions in or from the graveyard says so, or at the least has a keyword which includes 'graveyard' in it's rules text (flashback, dredge).
