Domri Rade - the -2 ability, do stats like flying, first strike, deathtouch etc still matter or is it just math? I'm assuming you can't -2 your Exava, Rakdos Bloodwitch on an opponent's Olivia Voldaren because she flies, but wanted to double check. Likewise if you did the same with Exava and another 3/3 creature, she would survive due to her first strike, right?
Also, the Legendary Enchantment Creature Gods...if your +1 revealed one of them when Theros comes around, I'm assuming that counts as a creature since it says creature unless someone's heard of ruling on this since it's a new category.
Fighting means they deal damage equal to their power to eachother. Effects like first strike and fyling are not considered, but things like lifelink and deathtouch (that work with any damage) are. Exava can fight Olivia. First strike has no impact on how it works.
The +1 will count them as creatures. The Gods are creatures everywhere except when they're on the battlefield and you don't meet the devotion requirement.

Abilities like first strike and flying don't apply to fighting, since those are pertinent in combat. Deathtouch, however, applies to all damage dealt by the creature it's on, so it does affect fight damage.

Yes, a legendary God enchantment creature card is a creature card in all non-battlefield zones.

Fighting has nothing to do with the combat phase. As such, abilities that modify the rules of combat don't affect fighting in any way. Flying, first strike, trample, landwalk, double strike, intimidate, defender, reach, vigilance--none of that matters in a fight.
Lifelink and deathtouch, however, do matter in a fight, because they aren't limited to affecting damage dealt during combat--they affect all damage the creature deals, including the damage it deals in a fight.

And so people say to me, "How do I know if a word is real?" You know, anyone who's read a children's book knows that love makes things real. If you love a word, use it! That makes it real. Being in the dictionary is an artificial distinction; it doesn't make the word any more real than any other word. If you love a word, it becomes real.

Thanks everyone, that was very un intuitive, I thought it would've been all or nothing, odd Lifelink and Deathtouch are excluded.
Yeah, that's right. The damage dealt by Hellrider during the resolution of the triggered ability is affected by lifelink.

Yeah, that's right. The damage dealt by Hellrider during the resolution of the triggered ability is affected by lifelink.
Damn...
So when I started out with my crappy BnW token deck, when I used Vault of the Archangel and creatures died with Blood Artist...and...all...those...missed triggers...no wonder I lost...LOL.
The reason why a Lifelink Blood Artist doesn't cause you to gain life is because it is written "target player loses 1 life" and not "Blood Artist deals 1 damage to target player".
Here is the relevant rule for lifelink:
702.15. Lifelink
702.15a Lifelink is a static ability.
702.15b Damage dealt by a source with lifelink causes that source’s controller, or its owner if it has no controller, to gain that much life (in addition to any other results that damage causes). See rule 119.3.
702.15c If a permanent leaves the battlefield before an effect causes it to deal damage, its last known information is used to determine whether it had lifelink.
702.15d The lifelink rules function no matter what zone an object with lifelink deals damage from.
702.15e Multiple instances of lifelink on the same object are redundant.
The creature just has to deal damage, whether combat or not. It's static and doesn't use the stack, so you gain the life at the same time that the damage are done.
My own rules when building a Commander deck:
1) Underrated general that I can build around but the deck must work without him/her too.
2) Every card must be legal in both banlists.
3) No infinite combo that could win (and ruin) instantly a multiplayer game.
4) Synergy at all costs; stay on theme, avoid goodstuff.
Yep. The reason both lifelink and deathtouch end up working is because they don't change how combat works (like the others) but literally how the creature deals damage.

So if you put a "Gift of Orzhova" on Hellrider, the triggers count as lifelink?
Yeah, that's right. The damage dealt by Hellrider during the resolution of the triggered ability is affected by lifelink.
