I was wondering can I gut shot a stormblood berserker when it comes into play while the bloodthirst ability is on the stack to kill it assuming I was dealt damage this turn or is the creature automatically a 3/3 so my gut shot is useless?
Bloodthirst is a replacement effect, not a triggered ability.
That means the berserker enters the battlefield with the counters already on it.
So there is no time where you can kill a bloodthirsty berserker with a gut shot.
Bloodthirst isn't a triggered ability, it's a replacement effect that modifies how the creature enters the battlefield. So the creature will enter with 2 +1/+1 counters on it. So by the time you could cast gut shot it will already be a 3/3.
