primeval titan attacks and fetches a second wolf run. image + 1 token blocks thrun, while prime titan is blocked by the other 3 tokens. he chooses to wolf run the thrun for +2
but why do all 3 tokens blocking the titan die? don't you have to assign lethal damage to each blocker before assigning damage to the next one? so wouldnt he only be able to kill 2 tokens?
thrun doesnt have first strike, and no instants were used. please explain
It looked to me like he pumped the Titan by 3, so it had nine damage to split between the 3 blockers. If he'd pumped Thrun, his opponent would have taken damage.
The Titan ended up 8/6, meaning it kills two, and deals two damage to the third. The Thrun does 3 to the Captain, killing it, and 1 damage to the second spirit. The last spirit blocking the Titan dies because it drops to a 2/2 and has 2 damage marked.
The other spirit blocking Thrun should not have died, and the commentators later commented on that, but said it wasn't significant enough to change the game and no action was taken.

This is absolutely incorrect. The Titan was not the target of Kessig Wolf Run. Further, the pump was for X=2 and not X=3.
Paulo clearly points to Thrun when pumping him, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on that; it might have been an illusion created by a weird camera angle. However, at the 69:18 mark, Paulo is angling that Jelger should've taken a point of damage from Thrun. This absolutely undeniable: Paulo explains to the judge that Thrun had six power!
Need further proof? At this time, Paulo has nine lands tapped. Two were from Primeval Titan's trigger, two were to regenerate Thrun, and the remaining five pumps Thrun for X=2. There were no other pumps. Still not convinced? The judge explains that there is no Trample damage because the spirit token was a 3/3 at the time combat damage is assigned.
I agree with yamateh. Under the old rules before M10, it would have been possible to split damage however you liked: back then, having the Primeval Titan deal 2 damage to each of the blockers would've been a legal play and that would've resulted in all three spirit tokens dying.
That is not the case anymore: now, you must order blockers and deal lethal damage to all subsequent blockers before choosing to damage the next blocker. The reason why Jelger doesn't suffer Trample damage from Thrun is the same reason why only two of the tokens blocking Titan should die; damage is assigned before it is dealt.
the defending player has a drogskol captain, a phantasmal image copying the captain, and 4 spirit tokens (hence 3/3's)
attacking player has a primeval titan, a thrun, the last troll, and a kessig wolf run

The latest Comprehensive Rules are also good, and can be found here.
and even if he pumped his titan, a 4/4 thrun wouldnt be able to kill a 3/3 captain and 3/3 token

What should have happened has already been covered, I'm going to preempt this getting speculative and do everyone a favor. Closed.
