Hey guys,
I know this could go in the trash talking thread....maybe.....but I have some mtgo questions. Last night I stared a game and was slow to play...new home brew deck and was deciding on a mulligan etc. not overly long maybe 30 seconds, and then on turn 1 I was a bit slow again. Deciding on which initial play would be made. Again maybe 20 seconds or so....now this happened in the just for fun room, and it was a pauper match. The other player started just going nutso in the chat....calling me names etc...I just said hey man, chill for a minute....then he goes off and says that he reported me....? What does it mean to be reported? Also since is guy was being a feminine hygiene product and the bag it came in....isn't he the one that should be reported? Can anyone please explain this reporting thing to me? Can you see if someone reports you....and do you get a certain number of strikes so to speak?

If someone reported you for no good reason, absolutely nothing will happen to you. On the other hand, if you have violated the Terms of Service, your account MIGHT be suspended. In this case, if your story is accurate, you didn't violate the terms of service, so nothing will happen.
You cannot see whether you have been reported.
If you want to report someone, ask an orc how to do it.
I'm not sure you can get in any sort of trouble for slow play in the Just for Fun section. And now that I think about it....you can't get in any sort of trouble for playing slowly anywhere, that's why you have a timer...
If you weren't cussing the guy out or anything you're fine.
He was probably just raging for the sake of raging.
Well since it was turn one and i was on the play...he didn't have lethal...lol
If anyhting if they have any way to review it, he was the one swearing at me etc, so if he reports me, I am sure he will be the one to get in trouble based on his behaviour....

You're probably fine because when you report someone, you need to give a screenshot and the game number id (if it happened in a game). They'll review your game and see that you didn't do anything wrong.
I just started with MTGO as well, and I have run into this exact stuff too. I don't understand it either, it's the Just For Fun Room for beginners.
Do people come in with decks or play in there just to beat noobs?
You and I could exchange info and play, since it seems to be half d-bags on mtgo.
Cheers
MTGO is full of trolls and asshats waiting to spoil other people's fun. There are people who bring tier 1 decks into the area for new players and curb stomp people. Sad but true. The thing is not to dwell on them and try to make connections with cool easy-going players. Best way is through banter while playing. When you find someone you enjoyed playing with buddy them and/or ask them if they want to play another game. MTGO is only as good as you make it and through effort and making friends, you eventually won't need to jump into queues with random players.
Even if you were talking crap in response it would take something very offensive to bring down any kind of punishment... they are pretty good about not jumping on every accusation (sp?) that comes their way
Yes. It's a very popular game with asshats and douchebags of all ages. As long as they're having fun doing it...
I only recently started playing again, and when I first re-installed modo I didn't have any decklists saved or anything, so I started playing in Just Starting Out. During the dozen or so games I played there I must've faced at least 50% t1 decks. I think that's an even higher number than you see in Just For Fun.
