I was looking at Standard decklists and I came across something. Why is Razorverge Thicket worth more than 4x Suntedal grove?
Are there other cards you've come across that you feel should be worth the same amount but differ greatly in price? I don't always understand the pricing structure but I know that generally the more expensive a card is, the more useful it is.
the only thing that i can really make sense of is doubling season. its not useful for competetive at all, isnt that old, and why would a casual player drop 20$ on a card?

Really wouldn't say that. They both have their strengths and weaknesses, like many cards.
Not fair to say one is better.
No the Shards lands are pretty much better than the M10 lands. It doesn't matter much in casual or whatever but it would be a mistake (9 times out of ten) to play Grove over Thicket in Standard.
Here's my opinion:
In my G/W deck I've had major problems with turn 1 mana sources that give me the color I need to play Birds of Paradise or Avacyn's Pilgrim. I don't run 4 Sunpetal Groves anymore because I couldn't consistently draw turn 1 green mana. Razorverge Thicket is just way better than Sunpetal Grove in every way, especially that many GW decks run more nonbasics like Gavony Township, which also don't give turn 1 colored mana.

Well then we're just talking about the G/W one then I guess right? in that case in the current standard enviroment it's better. I thought the OP was talking about all of them though.
Sundetal Grove seems good mid game on while razorverge is best early game. To me it feels like Razorverge is only better in heavy aggro decks or decks with a low curve.

It's true for the rest of them too.
If there was a format where people didn't primarily play 1 to 3 mana spells then the M10 lands would be better but that isn't the case in Standard so the Scars ones are better.

In competitive play, most decks are designed to either win, make winning inevitable, or have complete control of the board state within those first few turns. The Scars duals help with that goal more than the core set duals.
In casual play (or in a format like EDH where there's rarely anything happening in the first several turns), the core set duals become more valuable (and in EDH, they tend to be much better than the Scars duals, due to the singleton nature of the format, and the availability of ABUR duals and shocklands which the core set duals can look to)

Casual player =/= Cheap person who uses only bulk rares
Doubling Season is expensive because it's awesome.

My Saffi deck
Thicket has a higher powerlevel and it has seen only one printing.
There's a lot more supply of Sunpetal Grove due to it being printed 3 times in core sets.
Supply and demand.
two reasons
1)There are many more Sunpetal Groves in existence
2)Razorverge Thicket is better

In standard and other competitive formats, in the current decks that see a lot of play, thicket is more crucial.
G/W decks looking to play T1 birds need thicket and grove completely doesnt do it.

That was exactly what I was going to say.
Magic is an expensive hobby, and casual players arn't the same as budget players.
