What is the easiest way to acquire revised dual lands? Most people who have them do not want to trade them. I feel like you could spend a fortune on getting a play set of just one dual land.

What DD said, or trading for them at major events. You probably won't get them locally except for purchasing them, and then it's going to be quite a lot of cash to buy.
Unfortunately with cards nobody wants to trade either they want a lot for them, or you have to buy them.

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
you have to know your trade partners. there are people that only play legacy, and people who only play "ptq" formats (extended, limited, standard). if you trade legacy staples to legacy players you can usually bargain with them and get type 2 staples for cheap. legacy players have no use for a baneslayer, so you could trade for a value of 20$ and maybe less. then you go to the type 2 players and find the guy who has played forever but only plays type 2. its realy realy hard, duals are the legacy "power 9" and are one of the few "true" investments (not saying its a great investment, but magic, despite what others think, usually doesn't have a lot of "long term" investment).
you do it slowly, figure out what you want to play that uses duals, get those, then slowly start collecting. i've been going after duals for the past year and a half, and i've only acquired 14 total. 1000$ would get me close to finished but not completely. like i said, these are the legacy "power 9".

This is great advice, especially the part about going slowly. If you feel you need duals right away, you'll probably just end up over-paying. Watch the ending prices of eBay auctions for a few weeks. Check magictraders.com, apathyhouse.com, and blacklotusproject.com to get a good feel on what the range of values is for each dual. Then you'll be informed enough to make a wise investment.
In the meantime, keep an eye out for duals in your local store. Start asking around. Sometimes you'll be surprised who has a dual or two at home. If word gets around that you're looking, sometimes traders with duals will start to come to you.
Duals have proven to be a very good, safe investment over the past 15 years. When I first started buying them years ago, I realized something important. When I gave someone $10 for a dual (remember, this was years ago), I felt like I still had $10 on me. That's because duals are so easy to re-sell, I could almost always find a buyer willing to pay the same price I paid. That train of thought made it pretty easy to keep buying duals. I've always been thankful they are on the Reserve List for this reason. I'm not rich, so after putting hundreds of dollars into these pieces of cardboard over the years, it is really nice to feel that they will continue to retain their value in the future.
Take your excess TII staples and sell 'em on ebay or on here into a paypal slush fund. Then, bid on the duals you want on ebay. That's the easiest way to convert TII staples to duals-most of the players that have duals have them because they do play Legacy and they use 'em. As such, they can be hard trades.

I just sold a half dozen on Ebay, they went for $20-$25 apiece.
Just buy 'em on Ebay.

Most people don't realize that many duals can be purchased for around the same price as a BSA or Primeval Titan. Often, those are the same people who don't realize what a waste of money it is purchasing those as opposed to duals

I agree. E-Bay is a great place to start. Find a deck you want to play, and start with those duals. They will hold their value over time and are worth it. I have the full set, and once you get there it is such a releif that the major cost with each deck is already out of the way.
I've bought most of mine from tha gunslinga sales thread on this site. His prices are really competitive and he discounts for card quality which I like if Im going to be playing them anyway. As to how to get the money/trade value there are entire sites devoted to that google pack to power for some examples. That guy managed to trade up from a single pack to a mox in under 100 trade so it can be done. For me whenever I crack a titan bsa or whatever hot card in draft I sell it to someone at my lgs (they mostly play t2) then use the money to buy t1 staples like duals.
Its strange the same people who wont trade a binder full of junk for a dual will usually buy the binder if they think their getting a deal 0.10 per card or something getting you enough cash to turn around and buy the dual from someone else.
Yes, don't fall for the "repacks" promising duals either. There is little garuntee that any is being sent out in the "packs".
The only really expensive one is Underground Sea, the rest can be found as low as $25 as some mentioned (usually badlands are lowest). Don't try to get them all at once, maybe a playset a pay period and before you know it, you'll have that mighty collection finished.

Actually, any of the duals that produce blue mana are expensive. Underground Sea is around 90$, and I have rarely seen Tundra or Tropical Island for less than 70$.
I have 23 of the 40 dual lands. I'm NOT looking forward to getting the rest of the blue dual lands as it's going to cost me (only have 2 of them).

Do you mean playsets of the 10 originals?
eBay is hands-down the best place to get them. Keep your eyes open and know your prices and you will usually find some deals.
One of the ways I find them is search for the name and then sort by "newly listed." there may be someone with a Buy It Now price that is fantastic who just wants to move it (how I got a Mint Volcanic Island for $25)

Yea, I want a playset of each.
Ebay is the place where you will find the best deals (unless you go to a garage sale and manage to get the whole set for 100$ or something) and you may get an extremely great deal sometimes (50$ for a Tropical Island FTW), but you also have to be careful that you don't buy something from a seller who's going to charge you 25$ to ship 2 cards.
JustPathitBrah, good luck in getting the Duals, dude.
Despite the price, duals are probably the best investment for any player since they're only going to go up in value with time. With legacy being played at higher level events more recently, it'll continue to increase.
See if your local store has any and is willing to accept trades for them. I just traded about 70 standard rares (mostly worth under $2) to my LGS for a mint Tropical Island and a near-mint Underground Sea. I was lucky in that the store owner both was willing to give near full value for my cards, and wanted mainly stuff I hadn't been able to trade for months (like a playset of Silence). Opportunities like that are unlikely, but you never know what you might be able to get if you look.
I picked up my playset of Revised duals on eBay for $1,159 (including shipping) last November. I felt like it was a bit much at the time, but seeing how much they've went up the last year I feel like I made the right choice buying them when I did.

I was driven from this once-great site by abusive mods and admins, who create rules out of thin air to punish people for breaking them (meaning the rule does not exist under forum rules) and selectively enforce the rules that are written on the forum rules. I am currently lurking while deleting 6 years and 2 months of posting history. I will return when ExpiredRascals, Teia Rabishu and Blinking Spirit are no longer in power.
duals are the best place to park your money, I don't have any, but if you dump all your type 2 money cards like a month before they rotate you can still get decent cahs for them, then sink that into a dual land or two.
but honestly, i prefer fetchlands and basics to dual lands, for a few reasons
a: They're way cheaper, the priciest fetch is like $10
b: They thin your deck
b: EVERYONE that plays legacy at my LGS plays the wasteland/Crucible of worlds combo, so nonbasics are pretty useless

It's not necessarily that they want to move it. I did mine by researching each and figuring out what the high price was and average price on Ebay, and then setting mine right around there, which worked out to about $25 for most of them.
Might just be someone being reasonable, personally, I'd rather get a little above average than gamble on getting the high price.

Seriously, Baneslayer and the titans are no investment compared to the original duels.
