Now that they released a small Zendikar campaign setting PDF thing for D&D, perhaps they will no longer have strict rules about keeping things separate, and we can get some D&D settings as future planes to visit?
Imagine Eberron as a world to visit in a future set!
The various dragonmarked clans, different kingdoms and continents.
Inspired agents messing with things, and perhaps Jace trying to deal with it? Or perhaps the other way around Ashiok being friendly or at least studying them?
Tons of cool artifacts and artifact matters creatures in the form of artificers? On top of that, those people who turn themselves into living constructs might draw the interest of Tezzeret to adopt some of their techniques to improve his own enhancements?
Warforged might be seen as a sort of fellow created construct people to Karn?
Draconic prophesy and the dragons focused on it catching the interest of Bolas, Ugin, and/or Sarkhan?
All sorts of weird moons catching the attention of Tamiyo?
Perhaps a return of the level up mechanic to represent adventurers?
Undying elves? Daelkyr? Rakshasa rajahs?
Liliana getting involved in Blood of Vol and/or Vol the Lich Queen stuff?
Arlinn fighting against anti-lyncanthrope prejudice?
Sorin treating with Kaius III?
Vraska working with Droaam related groups as an assassin to earn money or cool artifacts or something, or just keep in practice, or fight for some kind of monster-folk ideals?
Perhaps the odd-man-out neutral aligned member, nominally Dark Six of the Sovereign Host and Dark Six sets of divines, the Traveler, was actually inspired by an ancient visiting planeswalker? Might fit some of the themes of the Travler's worship, and the shapeshifting abilites of oldwalkers?
MaRo has stated, even right after the announcement of Planeshift, that he doesn't want to mix D&D and Magic because people apparently already confuse then for each other(which I have literally never heard but okay). And it's apparent that directly releasing a Zendikar setting in D&D contradicts all of that but... That is what he said...
But I would really liek to seem some classic D&D themes explored in Magic.

That sounds like more misguided policies that're holding back Magic from becoming a household name, like Marvel or Warcraft. Blizzard and Marvel are doing everything under the sun to push their most coveted IP into as many products and media as they can. The defunct Warcraft CCG became the major influence for their following hit digital CCG. Other big CCGs like Pokemon, Yugioh, Legend of 5 Rings, successfully expanded their brands into other media, including anime, movies, video games, and even P&P RPGs. L5R is in some ways even more popular as a RPG than card game.
Meanwhile Magic and D&D is still meandering for 20 years. They even had to downsize D&D and scrapped all the worlds except one. The Magic movie has been in the planning stage forever. Their digital CCG platform was superseded by Blizzard's Hearthstone overnight. Another newcomer HexTCG plays pretty much like Magic and puts MTGO to shame--the latter had a 13 year head start.
They should have cross-bred Magic and D&D long time ago, which would amplify their success and brand recognition to the levels of other IP (like Marvel, Warcraft, Pokemon, etc.) Computer RPG series based on Magic worlds, lore, and characters using D&D rules would sell like hotcakes, while boosting both brands' fame and profit with periodic releases.
