Really doubt they'd print Wasteland in a standard-legal set. It'd do way too much work in Modern, in addition to warping standrd. Encroaching Wastes seems more likely.

Highly doubtful. Wizards hasn't wanted efficient land hate in Standard for some time. Ghost Quarter has a much higher chance of being reprinted in the new Innistrad block but even that's borderline.
Which I'm going to do right now. This kind of speculation is on the same level as "We're returning to Innistrad - The moon plays a big role there - Ergo, Blood Moon reprint."

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
I think there will be a way to turn lands into basic "waste" essentially destroying any way for the land to produce colored mana or have any special abilities
It wont be an overpowered reprint like wasteland but ends up working very similar to ghostquarter
I could see Ghost Quarter getting a reprint in Shadows Over Innistrad, but I don't think Wasteland will be reprinted in standard, though I could see it getting a reprint in the next non-standard set released kind of like how they reprinted some legacy staples (Stifle, Swords to Plowshares) in Conspiracy.
Which I'm going to do right now. This kind of speculation is on the same level as "We're returning to Innistrad - The moon plays a big role there - Ergo, Blood Moon reprint."
You heard here first folks. Wasteland and blood moon reprints next set, start your pre orders now!
Totally baseless but what if thwy print a land that turns otherlands into wastes? Seems flavorful but possibly broken...

There is a suspicius looking space in the number crunch for a land between Unknown Shores ans Wastes.
It's not going to happen, but now would certainly be a cool time to do it. Turn those Standard manabases on their head. I could see them doing it if it weren't for the fact that it would be in Standard for well over a year. (And in Modern for ever, but I guess they could just ban it there, before release even, if they wanted to.)
I think it will just be a Wastes (Emrakul version of the corruption) -
According to a recent question on Blogatog about the frequency of Wastes, they are printed two times on the common sheet. So a third art seems unlikely.
Functional reprint if the new mana symbol is different from the colorless symbol we know today.

Now that thats settled. I still see this as the best place to reprint this card we will get.
It wont be an overpowered reprint like wasteland but ends up working very similar to ghostquarter
The primary reason being the absolute confusion it would cause with Wastes Lands floating around.

What if we see either of the following:
Blightland
T: Add <>
T, Sacrifice ~, put a depletion counter on target land. That land loses all abilities and gains "Tap: Add <> to your mana pool."
Blightland
T: Add <>
T, Sacrifice ~: Destroy target basic land.
As in, a straight up reverse Wasteland.
What do you think?

Perhaps a nerfed Rishadan Port that has 1, T: Until end of turn, target land loses all abilities and gains "T: Add <> to your mana pool."?
