An interesting part of the story is that Emrakul and Kozilek have left Zendikar. It would be interesting to see this block become a follow up of the Eldrazi rather than a follow up of Zendikar itself. But I believe this is where they shift into 2 set blocks so they couldn't follow all three Eldrazi unless Emrakul and Kozilek went together.
So it would be like, cut to Zendikar where you have war against the Eldrazi, cut to other plane where you have an invading force of Eldrazi coming in.
Or perhaps they would dedicate 2 sets for Zendikar, then the 2 sets after them to where Kozilek is invading then the next 2 sets to where Emrakul is invading. If this happens I would think this might be one small factor that could have went into the idea of no more 3 set blocks since it would accomplish the idea of spending less time on a plane so you could make a cut here and there of invading forces. I guess this could work for future Phyrexian invasion forces too.
Given there are two-set blocks now, I'm not so sure. I could easily see them sticking around for one more set, then jumping on.
So you really think there going to start the new 2 set block rotation by giving us another 3 set block? What would the point in telling us now about 2 set blocks and a new rotation if they had another 3 set block to go? You didn't think at all before you typed did you?

Two blocks on Zendikar is what I meant, since you'd assume most blocks from here on out would not need the set up set that Origins is going to be. I could see them not wanting to shaft Zendikar and instead of giving them just one expansion, giving them three, and then sticking with two per world after that.
I doubt it. I suspect that they will jump the story line elsewhere. My suspicion is that they will go to where-ever Sorin has stashed Nihiri for the next plane so it will likely be a new one.

But Origins isn't part of any block. It will be Origins (Coreset) and then Battle for Zendikar block (one large set and a small set).
As much as I love eldrazi, I cringe at the thought of chasing them around the Multiverse for three blocks... I would like them to remain in the story but to go block after block dealing with one eldrazi and then the next and then the next would feel very repetitive (for the player) and difficult to design.
I'd rather they deal with the eldrazi and then visit eldrazi-devastated plane(s) in a through back to Dominaria after the Phyrexian Invasion. Although there's a good chance they depict a devastated plane in the BFZ block.
Since there are other open ends in the story (like the Phyrexians, Garruk's Curse, Bolas schemes...) I thingk they might put the Eldrazi part on hold and advance in other parts of the story.
My guess for the next block? Muraganda, with Domain as a mechanic coming back. Just saying...
There's been an increasing amount of hints on the MTG database talking about dwarves, as well as some talk by Maro. Though this opinion is still of itself baseless, I would suspect Underground World as being the world we'll visit after Zendikar's return.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. I can't wait till I can play my bicycle land out, thus making me heckbent, while I have Nessie on the field. You know, so I can attack with my Pervert.
Most likely, it will be based on the storyline. From what I observed, they bring back the least reprint walkers and discuss either an event or their origins.
So far we're looking at:
Chandra - Possible original plane + chase around another plane for the scroll guy - May Bring along Jace
Tezzeret - Possible return to New Phyrexia/Mirrodin - Will thusly bring in Koth/Karn along for the ride
Garruk - Possible resolution of his Curse or adventure that leads to cure/death - May Bring along Jace or Liliana
Jace - Although he is in Ravnica, Garruk and Chandra have interacted with him in the past and may be brought with either of them (my guess is Chandra)
Liliana - She still has to deal with her demons - If she gets reprinted in BFZ, she won't be the focus afterwards - If she isn't reprinted in BFZ, she will most likely be the focus and possibly involve Garruk again
So the planes:
- Mirrodin
- Chandra's
- Liliana's next target
- Garruk's home
Only time will tell.
BONUS: I will laugh if they make a Lorwyn/Shadowmoor return set.
BONUS BONUS: I hope to god they never ever try to make Kamigawa happen again. I liked the set but man was it just bad!
Remember, we are in the next stage of Design, so whatever the themes are in the setting after BFZ it has to revolve around a mood, theme or set of emotions that creative wants us to experience:
Theros: Heroism, patronage from gods, fate,The hero's journey, savagery (monstrosity)
Tarkir: Change, Choices, consequence, the more things change the more they stay the same, initiative over fate,Whoops-my-bad,
Battle for Zendikar- different Heroes same purpose, Avengers Assemble!, Teamwork, Allies?, inescapable Threat, Reunion, taking a stand, sacrifices (Speculation of Course)
Undergroundplane: Claustrophobia, eerieness, alien, hidden beauty,Societal pariahs, vengeance on the above ground?,limited resources, accepting differences? (Just for example)
I'm hopeing for a top down block since Tarkir and Zendikar are both bottom- up blocks.

I highly doubt it. The last time they made such sets was Coldsnap and Timespiral. Apparently these sets did NOT sell well at all and they announced back in RtR that they would avoid making more like those (damn it MaRo!).
AFAIK after this year's panel, they will most likely focus on the main story lines of our origins walkers and until all the events I mentioned are resolved, they will probably NOT diverge elsewhere.
I personally wish that they worked on the lore independently of the game and story. Nissa was a poor choice since she will have no real bearings after the Zendikar issue is resolved.

Personally, I think that they are likely to return to Lorwyn again in the next block or maybe the one after the next. I say this because of the fact that in Nissa's origin story, she was present when the aurora turned Lorwyn to Shadowmoor, so they could do a Shadowmoor story where Nissa trys to cast the The Great Aurora herself? Maybe in doing so, turns her Black/Green? id like this though it seems unlikely due to Garruk having also gone black/green.
The reason i see it as a possiblity that Nissa could maybe permanently fix the Lorwyn/Shadowmoor thing if she wanted to, not that im too familiar with the lore of Lorwyn itself, In the origin story she seemed to also have a connection with the Land calling itself Lorwyn as well, likely due to her being an animist, so i definitely dont think her story ends with Zendikar.
Block after BFZ is probably either the plane on which Razekath or Belzenok (Lili's other two demons) reside. With Lili's absence from BFZ we can pretty much assure that's who we're following next. Which means I suspect we'll see Garruk again. My bet is one of the demons or Garruk or both give her a handy but kicking because she's afraid of the power of the veil and she has to swallow her pride and go back to Jace and ACTUALLY ask for help.
I doubt it. I suspect that they will jump the story line elsewhere. My suspicion is that they will go to where-ever Sorin has stashed Nihiri for the next plane so it will likely be a new one.
This is my guess. Probably a new plane. Possibly also a plane that one of Liliana's demons is from. Although, with Sorin, Nahiri and Liliana that's a lot of black and white mana planeswalkers to perhaps not all that together in one block.

I doubt it'll be the next block, but I also believe a return to Moorwyn is in the future. Someone in another thread suggested that Bolas may want to try to harness / take advantage of the power of the Great Aurora like he did with the Conflux in Alara.
Liliana still has to deal with her demons - If she gets reprinted in BFZ, she won't be the focus afterwards - If she isn't reprinted in BFZ, she will most likely be the focus and possibly involve Garruk again
My bet is that the next block is all about Lili and the Veil. In fact...
My bet is one of the demons or Garruk or both give her a handy butt-kicking because she's afraid of the power of the veil and she has to swallow her pride and go back to Jace and ACTUALLY ask for help.
This seems very likely to me. Round 1 she's not much different than the last time we saw her, so we get a reprint in the first set, then she goes to get help (maybe from Jace, though my guess is the Raven Man) and gets a new card in the second. LotV wasn't reprinted in M15 because she would've made mono-black devotion way too powerful, and I don't see her getting a reprint in BFZ block (even if she shows up in the story) since Abzan is in a similar position. And as Khans showed us, having multiple versions of a 'walker in the same block is alright when the whole story line revolves primarily around them.
Liliana of the Veil will never see the light of Standard again. Way to strong. Besides Liliana, Defiant Necromancer was the last time we saw her. We know she's not going to be in BFZ, they confirmed that she is the only member of the Origins 5 that wont be there.
As for Lorwynn/Shadowmoor: It is NOT a likely place for a return any time in the future, and definitely not in the next block. They've said multiple times that the block was unsuccessful and had lots of failures. Don't get me wrong. It's more likely than Kamigawa or Ulgrotha but don't get your get your hopes up.

Liliana is not in BFZ, on his blog, Maro once said that the 4 origin walkers (Not lilianna) are all on BFZ.
Liliana looks to be the focal point of the set after BFZ. Since they're moving towards a more story telling oriented design and since Lili is the only origins walker not in BFZ it stands to reason that her setup is for the next set. Possibly to hunt another one of her two remaining demons. I'd say Garruk could show up but that's be dangerous close to Innistrad again (which I wouldnt mind).
So it would be like, cut to Zendikar where you have war against the Eldrazi, cut to other plane where you have an invading force of Eldrazi coming in.
