I feel like the card may fit thematically in a block about fighting giant monsters with heroes and planeswalkers. Also it could work well in standard since we have an abundance of legendary creatures thanks to Khans of Tarkir block and we are sure to only get more in BFZ block.
I use the Duels Of The Planeswalkers layout, though I'm right-handed and keep my deck and GY to the left. I dare you to ask me how tempting it is to hold flying creatures in a floating pattern over the table.
It fits more Magic:Origins I think. The last two blocks where the heavy-legendary ones, I expect BfZ to feature less than 10 legends. But Origins could very easily feature many legends besides the planeswalker. If we get one non-planeswalker legend per visited plane that already makes 15 we could have a big enough legends as-fan for this card to see print at uncommon (5 mythics 15 rares makes it slightly above 0.3[counting foils impact], 5 mythics 10 rares above 0.2, I think below 0.2 the card won't see print).
Honestly, I fully expect somewhere between twenty and thirty legendary creatures in BfZ, including the three Eldrazi (who will get new cards). About half of those legendary creatures will be rare, and the other half mythic.
Why? Two reason primarily, first off, it fits the presumed theme of the set, desperate times has a tendency to create heroes and other great individuals. Secondly, WotC loves the commander format, it is basically a cash cow sub-franchise, and as recent blocks (RTR, Theros, Tarkir) have shown us, we accept higher numbers of legendary creatures as long as not every rare/mythic creature is legendary. At most, half of the mythic creatures in the block will be legendary, and no more than at most 25-30% of the rare creatures.
Also, just for fun, some stats from the last three blocks:
RTR: 20 Legendary creatures, distributed among three sets.
Theros: 26 Legendary creatures, distributed among three sets.
Tarkir: 24 Legendary creatures, distributed among three sets.
Not that many actually. In RTR the legendary creatures are evenly distributed among rare and mythic, in Theros, there are slightly more mythic legendary creatures at fifteen, and in Tarkir there are slightly more rare legendary creatures at fourteen.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
from my understanding there will only be one eldrazi on zendikar because they other two left (not sure if they could be pulled back in anyway) but I do agree that any eldrazi that are in BfZ will get a new makeover. I do also think that There will be 15-20 legends in the block.
I do not think that time of need will be reprinted though. one reason fetch lands. WoTC already don't like the amount of shuffling/ searching/ time used with these lands so I doubt they will print much else of that sort of effect while fetches are in standard. I am going with the assumption that the other 5 fetches will be reprinted into standard in BfZ. If the other fetches aren't reprinted into standard then I will lean the other way. Time of need can fit in any set really and I do agree that thematically it works on zendikar.
