So, obviously there are several Planeswalkers who are heavily involved with the Eldrazi, and the number is implied to grow: Chandra, Gideon, Kiora, Nissa, Sarkhan, Sorin, Ugin and Nahiri (assuming the latter two are both active at the time; most likely Ugin will be, but Nahiri is a little up in the air). Even Ob Nixilis has been dealing with the Eldrazi and could be a wildcard if he regains his spark. Gideon is actively seeking others to join the fight.
Anyway, this implies that when they finally do have the big battle, there will be a lot of walkers. Already we have more walkers than they would have in a regular set. How do you think they will implement this? I think there are two approaches, and they could use one or both. The first is either a prequel block or full on double block (4 sets in two sub-blocks like Lorwyn). This way they could introduce half of the walkers with the first/prequel block, and the second set in the block. The second, more interesting thing was mentioned in a question on Blogatog today (I have too few posts to create a link right now or I would link to it). Basically, the idea is to do Planeswalker team-up cards with two Planeswalker types. Something like "Planeswalker -- Sorin Ugin" with both depicted. I don't quite know how the abilities would be divided, but it seems like a fun idea. Maybe two plus abilities (one for each walker), then a minus and ultimate that are both working together? Maro indicated they were aware of the concept and saving it for when it felt right. Using these team-ups, you could potentially double the number of walkers involved. Not all would need to use the gimmick.
So the block could have anywhere from 5-24 Planeswalkers involved in the conflict and depicted on the cards depending on how they go. Anybody have any ideas of what other directions they could go with it?
There was also a blogatog question about cards refering to PWs that didn't have a PW card in the set being okay.
So you Major players get PW cards, and Minor Players show up in references i.e Daring Thief in Theros block shows that Dack was there.
IMHO I think Return to Zendikar is Tears/Fears (2nd 2 set block). I think Blood/Sweat will pick up Gideon's "Gather Allies thread" so 5 allies for Gideon merry band (Jace, Chandra, Domri? Kiora?)
then RTZ has Sorin/Ugin/Nahari (+ Nissa?), but also refers back to Gideon's Famous Five. Plus some minor mentions. Voila you can show are more active PW centric story with only 10 PW cards over
2 blocks.
M16 if it's a "special event" for the last core set, could also have a more significant storyline PW presence.
That's my best guess, no Idea where Blood/Tears will be set what the story will be just think it will be a spacer block between Takir and Zendikar, possibly it will deal with the repurcussions of time travel across several planes, (think Timespiral, but less complex)

Kiora very much has a vested interest and is conducting her own search to execute her own strategy.
Domri... no way. He's a snotty little kid and wouldn't willingly contribute.
Chandra... much much murkier. She's basically washed her hands of it and is more interested in "correcting" whoever pulled her strings rather than deal with the Eldrazi. Jace is sort of in this same area. He might throw his hood into the group, but he has concerns of his own.
Sorin and Ugin, if Ugin returns, would be important to dealing with it.
Nissa is already fighting the good fight, so she'd go in with that too.

I kind of want to know where exactly this whole idea came from. We have, what......a two-part UR to his lore, and that's it? We basically have him becoming a planeswalker, the knowledge that he's probably the youngest planeswalker on a card, and is in the "rebels" guild. Doug's "Where Are They Now" said that he could go either direction, good or evil...but what does all of this have to do with he's a brat that doesn't care about anything else? Stereotyping?

Social conditioning and what glimpses we have of his personality.
He thinks smashing stuff is fun and seemingly likes to pick fights. That's actually pretty consistent for a bratty kid even in our society, but add in the kind of society he's actually being raised in, and I don't foresee any real maturity or appreciation for greater things blossoming in him, certainly nothing in the gravity of a situation like this.
Because the Eldrazi are not tied to one plane, they could devide the titans across several planes (blocks) and thus increase the planeswalker to Eldrazi ratio.
