"Trading on local legends, she created one for herself, borrowing identities as needed as she amassed power. One such facade she adopted was that of Callephe, the legendary mariner said to have sailed into Nyx itself. It was this lie that brought her path across that of Ajani Goldmane and Elspeth Tirel. The pair sought out Callephe for her skills, trusting her able to bring them to the Temple of Mystery, the ancient tree at the edge of the world.
Kiora agreed to do so, but for purposes she wasn't forthcoming about, dismissing it with a wall of good cheer. She led them along for the ride as she pursued her own agenda, never letting it slip that she was not who she said she was. The truth finally came out shortly after they set off, as Kiora brought them to the sunken city of Arixmethes. It was no city at all, in truth, but a massive kraken upon whom a city had been built. Thassa would not allow Kiora to take the beast from her, but first assisted Elspeth and Ajani in their journey.
The pair taken care of, she turned her attentions to Kiora."
After reading this, I became super excited, knowing that the Theros block is over, this made me wonder, how're we gonna keep up with these two powerful Merfolks battle? Then it hit me, there's likely a Duel Deck on it's way, which I'm going to jump for joy if there is, I mean, who else wants to see this? Comment

Well look at the DD Phyrexia vs. The Coalition, they featured a creature against a spell in that DD, so who's to say a god and a Planeswalker couldn't be the next twist?
I wish my 4/4s with haste and first strike that acted as Goblin Warchiefs were better and didn't die to instants and overshadowed all other 4 drops in the format. And that they had evasion too, and some way to dodge wrath effects.
I think it's blatantly obvious that the Duel Deck will be Elspeth vs. Xenagos. For the planeswalker decks from Large Small Small blocks, it seems like they prefer to pick 'wslkers from the big set as to not make it less worth it to bust backs of the small sets.

I fully support this. Also, they need to finish that story. "She turned her attention to Kiora" is such a cliffhanger.
Given that this would be Elspeth's last chance--and Xenagos's only chance--to be in a Duel Deck, I'd be highly surprised if it weren't Elspeth vs. Xenagos.

Could also be Ajani vs. Ashiok. Ajani now encompasses all Naya colors, and Ashiok embodies UB, the two colors absent from Naya. I'm sure they'd come up with a storyline reason for the conflict.

This/\ ashiok has killed some leonin maybe this may be the set up?
Knowing what we do now,
if they were to do something unprecedented like this,
I would want it to be Ajani vs. Heliod,
preferably with a Deicide or two in Ajani's deck

Which is lame, predictable and not what we want.
Jace vs. Vraska managed to stay as close to the trend as possible while being in a nontraditional block by reprinting the 'walkers. Sorin vs. Tibalt was a matter of them not wanting to do another Liliana vs. Garruk (which they couldn't do, as Garruk was a DFC in Innistrad). Venser vs. Koth was the first Planeswalker Duel Deck set to be released in the spring, and it follows the pattern too. Sorry guy, but it's gonna be Elspeth vs. Xenagos. They'll want to play up the epic conflict and give Elspeth one last hurrah before she leaves Standard forever (barring Elspeth the Returned, of course).

And Elspeth vs. Xenagos was the main conflict of the block. But despite that, I think most of us are actually more interested in Thassa vs. Kiora. I just don't want to wait years and years to find out what happens next with those two. IDK how soon Kiora will re-appear in Standard again, but I feel like she'll be back in a Return to Zendikar, which feels only a few years off.
Everyone's forgetting that Elspeth and Xenagos never encountered each other before Xenagos became a god. Therefore, Elspeth vs Xenagos wouldn't make sense unless it was Elspeth vs Xenagod, which I doubt they would do.

but Thassa is not a Planeswalker and they are very unlikely to bend the rules for her.
However, this little story snippet could imply the DD is Kiora vs. Elspeth or Ajani.

I would like a kiora vs thassa thought but seems a litle off for the planeswalker duel deck...

Again, I want Kiora vs Ashiok, due to the fact that Kiora has seen the Eldrazi, and so must have some pretty epic nightmares.
I hope it's Elspeth vs Xenagos. Then I wouldn't hafta pay a premium for her.
