What do you guys think will be the theme for the next block? I am crossing my fingers for a prehistoric theme, with dinosaurs and cave elves/merfolk/goblins/et-cetera, with primitive spells. Would be so cool.
What do you think? Is a prehistoric theme viable? Who else wants to see that?

That would be cool, but I think that we will get something different. If the trademarks hold out for the next block, it looks like Warlords of Khanar/Khans of Tarkir/Dragons of Tarkir are what we will get. I'm thinking either Mongolian themed or Barbarian themed. If they go with barbarians as a whole rather than just Mongols we could have some primitive-like spells. I can't see cavemen showing up though.
Also from the Trademark possibilities, if the plane has dragons already, they could fill the role of dinosaurs in terms of slowing humanity's progress and maybe even halting civilization and population growth. However, that would mean FEWER people, so I think we will see something like, "humans battle each other for control of the land and one is winning out over the others but OH ***** DRAGONS!"

After the very likely Mongolian/Barbarian theme of Khanar/Khans (a theme I'm not too excited about) I would really, really, really, really like to have a block that dove back into classic Sword & Sorcery & Fantasy themes/setting. No, the core set isn't cutting it for me. I want a set with classic wizards and knights and dragons and fairies and all that crap.
I was unaware of the trademarks... But Yeah barbarians... not exactly too excited about that, but I guess some cards could be pretty cool. I'm still just dying for a prehistoric dinosaur block... But I agree Bacl, a purely medieval plane would be fantastic.
This post makes me think that Bushido will come into this set to accompany the "going wide" theme some are suggesting. Could we also see a modified Flanking in the same set? However, the fact that we usually don't see +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters in the same set might also speak to this.
Well I think the story is that Sarkhan returns home with dragons in tow, (or perhaps just dragon eggs) then people here about dragons which haven't been seen for thousands of years and they are a coriousty. Sarkhan uses the power of dragons to conquer his home plane.

Failing that? Dinosaur plane. Failing that? Pirates. Failing that? Dinosaur pirates.
