If you checked The Planeswalker guide to JOU part 1 maybe you saw a peculiar piece of art that has not ben discussed until now.
At the end of Theros I started to think that before this block ended there would be 15 gods that share not only colors but also have similar backgrounds, with this in mind I came to think that there could be alliances that could manifest into cards, 5 different cards to be exact. My speculation has two origins that I will share with you:
-15 gods equal to 3 gods working together, 1 mayor god and 2 minor ones.
-Then I recalled Dragon's Maze where the double cards not only focused in two colors, but alliances of up to three different colors.
This gave me the tools to start speculate about a new cicle that could change the course of the game in Standard. I am still unsure if these possible cards will be enchantments or instant/sorceries. So what are your thougths about this possible cicle? Will the gods ally to bring balance to Theros, or are these manifestations of an attack against the mortals?
I don't think there will be any 3 colored cards. There were only 5 in Dragon's Maze, which was a million times more multicolor than Theros block is.
Maybe it's art from intro packs/pre-release.
Maro mentioned a new mechanic with the Ajani/Elspeth art. Maybe this mechanic will thematically unite different gods / creatures / walkers together.
Maybe I was not specific enought.
When I mentioned the 5 cards of this possible cicle I was talking about MONOCOLORED cards that could play along different combinations. I know that the chances to 5 multicolor cards appearing is very improbable, and that is why we still need to think about the involvement of the current cards in the future sets.

Huh. I like this speculation. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this happened. I'm assuming it's a sort of "_____, and _____ for every _____ that shares a color with X", since even if Ajani is WG he would still share a color with Elspeth

3WWU, 2GWW, and 4RWW! These were the mana costs chosen to summon the perfect little angel! But Professor Avacyn accidentally added an extra ingredient to the concoction! Chemical x Thus, the Powerpuff Girls were born! Using their ultra super powers, Gisela, Bruna, and Sigarda have dedicated their lives to fighting crime and the forces of evil!
I have pointed this image out the very morning it was revealed. Got no reaction to that, as everybody was discussing the god arts.
It can easily be a promo art. The BNG guide has used the Xenagos bursting from a mountain art, other page used the "Anax duels the Rageblood" picture, that does not have its own card.
I am betting on promo art. It's almost too static to be anything else.

That there were exactly 5 three color cards in dgm may be a good reason to think that there will be 5 in jnx. If wizards truly doesn't want to differentiate between allied and enemy colors, than it becomes neccesary to aply this thinking to 3 color combos. Half cycles shouldn't exist in modern design. Wizards needs to complete the cycle and give us the other 3 color combos. Maybe they will do so in jnx. Maybe this whole post was pointless speculation...

Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.

The point wasn't that it was an incomplete cycle. The point I was making is that RtR was a multicolor block, and it only had 5 3-color spells. I sincerely doubt a block that has a lot more focus on mono-color is going to have 3-color spells.

Yea, I got your point and chose to reinterpret the data you provided to make it appear to somewhat support the idea presented in this thread.
