So, recently a good friend told me that he knows a very reliable source for Magic, and they told him that Magic: the Gathering will be reprinting the Onslaught fetchlands soon. Including that $100 Polluted Delta. Now, when I heard this, some of my other friends were near, and they know a lot about the story behind magic. He tied it together all perfectly.
According to her back story, Kiora was on the plane of Zendikar while the Eldrazi were there. She fled in search of help. Link here.
As all of us currently know, Kiora is on the plane of Theros and doing what her lore says and gathering the most powerful Krackens, Leviathins, etc. in hopes to go back and fight off the Eldrazi.
So, could the next cycle be RTZ or Return to Zendikar? We all have heard that within time, the Eldrazi will be making another appearance some time from now. So, being a puzzle solver like most, (and a conspiracy theorist) I feel that with the proposed theories and lore, soon we will be having a return to my favorite set ever, Zendikar.
So, for discussion, what do you think? Have you heard anything similar, or any thoughts/ideas/evidence that proves/disproves my thoughts?
This belongs in Baseless Speculation with a different title.
The next block is almost certainly Warlords of Khanar/Khans of Tanar. We will probably return to Zendikar one day, although I imagine it won't be for at least two more years. Seven years seems to be the sweet spot for revisiting a plane. As for your friend's speculation about Fetchlands, he's probably right, although there's certainly no guaranteed time table for reprints.
We'll inevitably return to Zendikar eventually, as it was incredibly popular and successful, and the story isn't even resolved. But it probably won't be till at least 2016 or 2017. As for the fetchlands, they'll probably be in the set, to make them easier to obtain and help bring down the price.
Hopefully we'll get another busted Jace to play with, something subtly powerful with small incremental advantages not in your face absurd, something that rivals Lili of the Veil in power.

Just so I'm clear on this Khanar is a plane in and of itself? In other words its not a region of Zendikar?? I don't follow the stories too much but I've never heard of Khanar before so I'm just wondering if Khanar "potentially" could be an uncharted part of Zendikar? Because to tell you the truth it sounds like a highly mountainous region (hopefully of Zendikar) and that Chandra will make an appearance. I don't know why but it just sounds like a mountainous terrain name or won. Almost like Shiv.
Edit: Would like to point out that at Pax East in Boston on Sat April 12th we will know for sure what set (plane) this is. It will be announced at that panel.
The problem with "X planeswalker is connected to Zendikar, we're going back to Zendikar" logic is... to date, we've had Sorin (INN Block - Was directly involved on Zendikar), Jace and Gideon (Were both on Zendikar, Gideon was directly looking for resources to go back to Zendikar), and now Kiora (from Zendikar). THREE. BLOCKS. STRAIGHT. The only block that wasn't the case for was Scars block.
Are we going back? Yes, one of the most popular planes to date. Are we going back because of Kiora, or plans for Nissa, or because the sky is blue, water is wet, and today is a day that ends in y? No.
We will probably return to Zendikar one day, although I imagine it won't be for at least two more years. Seven years seems to be the sweet spot for revisiting a plane.
I love how people make sweeping generalisations on a sample size of two. Scars was seven years after Mirrodin by chance and RtR couldn't have been any earlier. Returning to Mirrodin as New Phyrexia was planned all the way back in Original Mirrodin and it was initially supposed to be a surprise that this would turn out to be Mirrodin, so it wasn't placed to capitalise on nostalgia, it just happened to be seven years later. As for Ravnica, they didn't know they'd be returning when they designed Original Ravnica, it was at the start of the Six Year Plan and Scars was at the end. So the first chance they had to plan a return to the now-beloved setting was when MaRo set out the Seven Year Plan, but it couldn't be the first year of that because then it would immediately follow Scars which by now was known to be going for the Mirrodin angle rather than Phyrexia to start with. So RtR had to come after Innistrad, which happened to be seven years after Original Ravnica because 6 + 1 = 7.
It's just a coincidence that the same interval exists for both Mirrodin and Ravnica, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Blood block is set on Zendikar.
I have my own speculation: Most planeswalkers that were in Zendikar are getting cards/reprints. So my theory is that we will get a new Nissa (probably playable and BG) in a random next new block, and then we will return to Zendikar with AT LEAST Nissa, Jace and some other planeswalker.

A new Nissa certainly makes sense when they are making one of the figurines in her likeness.

Kiora, considering they've outright told us she's questing to stop the Eldrazi.
Given that, I doubt RTZ will be the next block (we literally just got Kiora 1.0).
Now I would *love* for my favorite PW to get cards in back-to-back blocks, but I'd be very surprised.
Also, why Jace?
He's pretty much stuck on Ravnica for now.

If an A-team is ready to take on some "big bad multiplanar threat" like say Eldrazi or Phyrexians or Bolas, then he might be convinced to leave Ravnica for the greater good.
And then Ravnica 3 gets to deal with the aftermath.
Also, why Jace?
He's pretty much stuck on Ravnica for now.
Because after Nissa screw up everything that she loved, Jace ran away, and after some time to think Nissa went after him to find some help. (Probably went in some planes and experimented black mana too)
About Alara, I would prefer a BizzarAlara, where the color combinations of the "shards" are the wedges.
I'll return to anything other than kamigawa, my god i hated that block...personally of course. However I do like zendikar and especially all the lands and kors leonins human ally weenie stuff! Hope this happens soon rather than like 10 years later.....
Also since there are rumours flying around about a GW Ajani in JIN, alara might be a better bet since Kiora can go to alara and summon progenitus right? Lol....

Well Nissa went after Sorin.
She had been into Lorwyn too (MTG site) but it is before Zendikar plot ( She went there and learned about The Elf Race being the RULERRRSSSSS of multiverse and traveled back to ZEN to spread those big news...)

As for Dominaria and Alara:
well . . .
Dominaria is like a wasteland now.
And we get quotes from Alara alot of time ( Like in the commander precon' generals)(Hello kaalia hello bird girl etc..)( also prosh is from dominia)
He doesn't have to have a reason, but when he says "most likely" I imagine he does. And I'm curious what that reason is.
Well beside the joke part IT IS most likely that we will revisit another "loved" plane before we revisit Zendikar. I suppose Zendikar 2 will be kept to be released after a "bad" block just to save the day. And I don't mean "some people say it's ok, others say it's not" block. I mean a total failure (experiment in something?) block.
Just imagine playing a bad block and then get a spoiler that in 6 months they will reprint Zendikar. *poof* you don't care about the current block anymore, you just wait until it rotates.
Alara may be revisited because of all the wedge thing that could happen which will totally change the feel of Alara, but I don't see coming back to Dominaria. We had that story for 8 years in a row and it ended with big blast leaving nothing behind. Maybe if we ever get a nostalgia block again many years from now we will hear something about Dominaria.

I always wondered how many people have a negative view of Kamigawa based on the power level of the block being rather low. I mean Saviors of Kamigawa has got to be a top 3 worst set of all time.
Why are we assuming that reprints of fetches have to be in a Zen2 block. They can make them the set of duals in any block even if it is not as thematically correct as it is in zen2.

They could but I think that from now on Fetches are connected to Zendikar.
They could do the brave move and print in a Mset for example but I don't think they want fetches in a core set because the target group are new players.

I always wondered how many people have a negative view of Kamigawa based on the power level of the block being rather low. I mean Saviors of Kamigawa has got to be a top 3 worst set of all time.
People dislike Kamigawa for a number of reasons that compounded with each other to make it the most reviled block of all time, including but not limited to: Parasitic mechanics, bad-mechanics, over-saturation of legendary permanents, underpowered cards compared to their casting cost, and getting stuck between two very popular and very powerful blocks (Mirrodin and Ravnica).
That is not to say that the block did have its good points, such as Bushido, Ninjutsu, and a few very nice cards (Including Umezawa's Jitte). But even with some good stuff, the bad stuff far outweighed it.
Return to Kamigawa is three years overdue, so Khanar must be future Kamigawa!
Considering it is the most reviled block of all time, highly unlikely. Future visits to Kamigawa will primarily be in auxiliary products such as Commander and Planechase.
He doesn't have to have a reason, but when he says "most likely" I imagine he does. And I'm curious what that reason is.

Just like they where connected to Otaria before that... >.<
There is a reason why the fetches (and the shock lands, and the tap lands) have setting neutral names. They can be reprinted whenever they feel like reprinting them. I predict that the next time we see the Onslaught/Worldwake fetchlands we will get the entire 10 card cycle. And it won't be in a "Return to Zendikar" style set.
