Guys, guys. This is clearly what the names should be. Replace sword with shield if necessary.
Sword of Sense and Sensibility (WU)
Sword of Pride and Prejudice (UB)
Sword of Crime and Punishment (BR)
Sword of Sound and Fury (RG)
Sword of Mice and Men (GW)
I considered Sword of the Red and the Black for BR, but it seemed too on the nose.
Not Swords.
Shields. Alied colors need shields, and grant different abilities.
And to lower their impact on standard they could be a less powerful.
Ie they could be limited to only equipt creatures of either two friendly colors, and only grant protecting against their common enemy color, like green and white against black.

No...just no. Only one ended up with a name from a book. Well we might as well name another one Dumb & Dumber to get a movie one in there.

Really?? So what your saying is you want them to be niche and weak. Tell me, would you like opening Mindless Null as your rare/mythic? Also the point of equipment is that anything could pick it up and use it.
Make them shields. That way you only have to change them to trigger on blocking. Still have them get +2/+2, two protections, and two triggered abilities based on those colors.

I am not certain of how I feel about the swords of feast and famine and body and mind, but I do agree that sword of war and peace should have had different effects, since both of its effects had already been used on other swords in the cycle.
They'll probably come back to it when we go back to New Phyrexia, but I hope they only do two Swords the first go-round, then wait until the next Mirrodin/New Phyrexia block to release the remaining 3 allied colors.
They probably won't be printed, but I really hope they will be. If they do finish the cycle, I will want cards where the two abilities actually have synergy (example, Sword of Body and Mind mills and creates a token that you would use to attack) and aren't overpowered.
Sword of Blood and Bone 3
Artifact-Equipment Mythic Rare
Equipped creature gets +2/+2 and has protection from Black and from Red
Whenever equipped creature deals combat damage to a player, Sword of Blood and Bone deals one damage to each creature and then that player sacrifices a creature.
Equip 2
Sword of Power and Magic 3
Artifact-Equipment Mythic Rare
Equipped creature gets +2/+2 and has protection from Blue and from Black
Whenever equipped creature deals combat damage to a player, search your library for a card and then put that card in your graveyard and you may cast that card from your graveyard this turn.

Dude, those two are busted to hell and back.
I don't think that they will ever make equipment on the level of the Sword of X & Y cycle. I think Zac Hill actually said that nobody understood how stupidly undercosted the sword cycle was.
If they do any equipment that resembles the sword cycle, it will cost much more to cast and equip.
hypothetically, if this was to happen, i would much prefer it was done with swords than shields. Shields would lead to very stale game with neither side wanting to attack. Wizards has already come out and said that those kinds of board states are undesireable

The brokenness is just to match the other Swords in the cycle. However, dealing one damage to each creature is 1 mana and Entomb is one mana. Sacrifice is two mana, but there isn't much else that I can do for a one mana black spot that hasn't been taken by the other two swords. The blue ability on Power and Magic is overpowered, but if this card was actually designed, that would be left for development to work out.

Those two swords are busted even when compared to the original ones. Especially the second one, which essentially casts something for free when you hit an opponent

No, it doesn't. It says that you may cast a card from your graveyard. It doesn't say that you don't have to pay your mana cost.
So you just get a demonic tutor whenever you hit someone? What part of a card that's banned or restricted in every format isn't broken?
You can only cast that specific card on the specific turn you hit. Demonic Tutor searches your library for a card and puts it in your hand and then you can play it whenever you have the mana.

Why do you believe that?

Well the originals were effects the colors got for one mana (shock, raise dead, healing salve, reach through mists). The newer ones didn't follow this which in my opinion defeated the point of "completing" the cycle. Feast and famine should have lay of the landed instead of half a rude awakening. Body and mind should have battlegrowth or sprout and 3/5ths an index. War and peace should have, well NOT sudden impact and gerrard's wisdom.

Will be kept until 12/31/2013 to prove if Right or Wrong.Proven right 1/27/2013Shields? Now THAT is interesting. I think it could fit the flavor really well.
Shields - Allied color
Swords - Enemy color
Kind of like they needed the swords to fight off the Phyrexians, now they need the shields to help take back what was theirs. I could dig it.
on a side note, i always laugh when people say "Phyrexians", cause i swear it sounds like "Mexicans" which is hilarious to me hahaha

Having protection from allied colors is muuuuuch stronger than enemy colors.
Paladin En-Vec and Great Sable stag are 2 prime examples of hosers that completely shut a deck down.
