I would be very excited for a Lorwyn or Shadowmoor revisiting. As a somewhat newly-returned player, the Innistrad block was dripping with theme, and as I've picked up a few cards from past sets, both Lorwyn & Shadowmoor give me a similar feeling where I can pick up a few cards and 'get' what the block is about.
The RtR block has been a dud thematically, and I haven't gotten that feeling from the cards. Even if Theros is going to be brand new, I hope it gives a feeling of excitement like Innistrad did. Also, a lack of gold cards would rule.
Honestly, after playing a bit of Modern Masters which as been my first real exposure to that era of Magic, I kinda get that there are some aspects that would be worth seeing. Arcane seems really cool and tribal.
That said if Theros had Arcane and Tribal elements maybe that could scratch that itch without going backwards.
My other thought would be this what older planes would fit and our be enhanced by NWO? or Top Down Design?
Because I think that will have a large impact on what they revisit and what they don't. I look at things like the thalid's with spore counters and things like spikes and grafts and I kinda just go that's to much house keeping etc.
A return to Ulgrotha would be awesome (although, we are still fairly close to innistrad, thus it is unlikely), as would Rabiah (would be interesting to see again). But realistically? Probably Lorwyn/Shadowmoor with less of a focus on tribal.
That is *if* we are doing a revisit.
If we however are revisiting a plane that has been visited, but not actually been the main setting of a block, I'd say Muraganda.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
If they did another Asian-themed set not based on Kamigawa, there's always the plane of Mongseng, which I'm pretty sure is supposed to be Mongolia/Mainland China. Like Kamigawa it would be dripping with flavor and tribal themes (monks, yetis, and nomads, anyone?) and would probably have better synergy between sets than Kamigawa (IMO the hugest problem with that block)

Otaria was blown up during Time Spiral. And by the end of that trilogy Dominaria was too much of a ****show to ever be worth revisting. Actually, even by the start of it. For a nostalgia themed set, it did a great job of making it abundantly clear that the entire plane was a post-apocalyptic wasteland, and that there's not really anything left standing to revisit.
The flavor text on Armored Cancrix seems to indicate that things are getting back to normal on Dominaria.
Maybe 2018 would be a good time to go back to Dominaria. Go back to where it started for the game's 25th anniversary.
There have been two 'revisit' blocks in recent years, with one set seperating them. A pattern, this does not make. I won't be surprised to see an entirely new plane after Theros.
That said, my money is on the next revisited plane to be Zendikar.
A friend was explaining to me that apparently quite a lot of time has passed story-wise since kamigawa was last featured, like a few thousand years or something.
I bet they'll do a Descendants of Kamigawa block that's set in a Neo-Tokyo futuristic setting with magical gundams fighting samurai and other such debauchery. The core rules will also be updated to require the use of motorcycles.
Why not go back to Alara?? Since Theros was play 1 color they should revisit alara and say ok either play 1 color Devotion or 3 colors. It could be interesting on who chooses which side to play
And no, four blocks don't mean a formula. The modern blocks were: new plane, new plane, new plane, return, new plane, new plane, new plane, return, new plane, return, new plane. RTR was even considered 'risky' being so near SOM.
When they do make a return block, they will return to a popular setting. Why waste time trying to fix what went wrong in a disliked setting (Kamigawa) when they can spend this same amount of work improving an already popular one?
Kamigawa is not coming back. Even a new Japanese-inspired plane is more likely than it.
Lorwyn actually has low chances too - it was not very well received either (Shadowmoor did a little better). Alara and Zendikar are more likely as the next eventual return.
They won't return to Alara too soon because they don't make heavy-gold blocks too near each other. The next block needs to have at most the level of multicolor seen in Innistrad or Theros.

Too soon for that particular plane, AND too soon for another multicolored block (right as RTR rotates).
