Besides, at least two of the new walkers introduced in the set are pretty awesome: Wanderer and Kasmina. I don't know enough about Teyo to form an opinion about him yet. But Wanderer is the epitome of Mysterious Hero, while Kasmina appears to be as snarky as Jaya.
That is another thing I found interesting is that Kasmina is apparently a character they had for a future storyline and they figured War could a be preview for her. Also it seems Kasmina knew about the War and came to Ravnica willing and ready to fight.
Wanderer is fun, I wanna know about whats up with her spark.
Gotta love those Snarky red-heads.

While I agree a Viking / Norse plane (probably Kaldheim, Valla, or a renamed-for-trademark-reasons version of one of those two) seems most likely, I just heard another theory today about the Fall set: a true Dungeons & Dragons crossover set.
Last fall, WotC published the Guildmaster's Guild to Ravnica for D&D 5th Edition. D&D is huge right now, including streaming D&D games, and WotC is clearly looking to bring the Twitch crowd to Magic and especially Arena. So maybe it's time for MtG to return the favor and visit a D&D plane (such as Faerûn)? We've been promised a new plane, but that could just mean new to Magic.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
They don't really want to cross the "streams" so to speak, they only did the guildmaster's guide to Ravnica because people has been bugging them for a D&D campaignsetting based on MTG for nearly over decade.
That said, it is far from impossible.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

Well, Sword of Dungeons and Dragons was supposed to make Beholder tokens originally...
Of course, if they did make a "crossover" in MTG between it and D&D, they'd have to add the Aberration creature subtype, because D&D fans would get angry if Aboleths, Beholders and Mindflayers were represented without it.

I think a plane inspired by D&D is more likely. That way they have more creative freedom.
If Legends' legendary creatures were the manifestations of designers' D&D characters, then I think this has substance, and I don't mean in a thorny armour capacity.
TBH Shards of Alara had that basic fantasy feeling so hopefully, whatever happens, it is reminiscent of that with the adventurous nature of Zendikar I's design.

for the reprints here in core 2020 its looking more and more likely we will be returning to theros some time after rhe fall set
Or, you know, it was just reprints that were needed in Standard in general.
Somehow this always happens, and people end up disappointed when their prediction doesn't happen. I hope we get to Theros soon, but I haven't seen anything even hinting at it. On the contrary, with the number of powerful artifacts we've gotten in WAR and M20, I think it equally likely that we'll visit Kaladesh or Mirrodin. Or the number of vampire and wolf/werewolf tribal cards could be hinting at Innistrad. Or... you see where I am going with this? Sometimes we see patterns where there are none because we want something really bad.
Personally I'd love a return to a number of planes, but until we have more info about what comes after the fall set, it's baseless. We know the next set is a new world, we should concentrate on that one for now.

I would not be surprised if Archery is in fact a set that takes place on Faerûn. Tbh I’m kinda surprised that they haven’t crossed the streams more since buying TSR just so they could get their hand on D&D.

They bought TSR because it was dirt cheap due to massive mismanagement and they wanted to expand into other games than CCG's.
Seriously, TSR was effectively bankrupt when they got bought by WotC.
But no, I don't think they'll be crossing the streams further than the occasional campaign setting due to intense pressure from the fan base. Even that was only done because they tested the waters first by releasing a few smaller PDF's for worlds they visited and because people had been bugging them about it for decades.

I think Theros is gonna be the next return world. Its hitting the time for it return, its popular and not many worlds are up for returns now except for Theors, Alara and New Phyreixa, unless we get a huge curve ball with Lorwyn/Shadowmoor and Kamigawa.
Storywise the gatewatch had thought of going to Thero in order to bury Gideons armor which could be a hook for a story there.

That was part of it. WotC wanted a table top RPG for years and had tried to develop one that stuck, TSR’s bankruptcy happened to be fortunate for WotC. Mark has specifically asked about D&D mtg set and what people want.

Only when people have asked him about it, which they do, constantly. He's always constantly telling people that they like to keep their IP's separate. But him asking his followers about it is one of the reasons they finally caved and did the Ravnica Campaign Setting. There'd be a lot less contamination of the IP's in that direction (transferring MTG to D&D), than in the opposite direction. Once D&D is in MTG, there is no stuffing that cat back in the bag.

Bag of Holding explicitly crosses the streams in black border. Yes in the PAST they have wanted to keep them separate, however with the growing popularity of D&D, the success of the Ravinca book, this is the perfect opportunity for a set based on D&D lore. Hell idc if it’s a brand new world or not, the feel of an adventure world not Zendikar with it’s heavy destruction, would be great.

If you think the concept of a Bag of Holding is exclusive to D&D, then you'd be wrong. The concept originally comes from older fantasy literature.
