What is Kaya doing? Well she's a mage with a very particular specialization: Killing spectral undead. She also winds up leading the Orzhov Syndicate in some fashion (possibly in cahoots with and possibly at odds with Teysa).
It's conceivable that Teysa learns from some anonymous source about Kaya, and upon meeting her, hires her to eliminate the Obzedat. As part of Kaya's price, she demands the position of Orzhov Guild leader. Teysa initially objects, but Kaya mentions that she isn't personally interested in the responsibilities of leadership and is only seeking the position to keep someone worse from taking it. She'll leave Teysa in charge of managing the day-to-day affairs, allowing Teysa to shape the Syndicate as she sees fit. I expect that Kaya and the Obzedat will be in RNA while Teysa herself will be part of a cycle of guild legends in the third set, alongside Feather.

Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

And planeswalkers have answers to most ghosts. If someone hired her to get rid of Invisible Stalker (human though btw) or Geist of Saint Traft I'd understand better. Brago? Ghost council? What she does doesn't seem so special.

Holy S*** guys! Was just talking with my brother about things and said, "If Bolas dies, even if he has his soul tethered elsewhere could Kaya still banish him?" And then we both had the same realization. THAT'S WHY SHE'S THERE! What's another name for ghost? Spirit. Who had been Bolas' foil since birth? Well that's his "dead" brother of course. Bolas knows he's alive, the Core 2019 story tells us that, and that's why he brought in Kaya. When Ugin arrives like we all figure he will, Kaya is there to "Exorcise" Ugin!
If this plays out I will be sad to an extent but so damn happy because Bolas is always 2 steps ahead and I love it!
