I took a look at what's been spoiled, and a thought occurred to me.
There's a lot of Legends, and a lot of High Color Cost Cards.
Having just left what was, arguably, a multicolor block, at least moreso than usual, and with these themes being present for Dominaria, I think we might be returning to Theros very soon. Story-wise, I'm not entirely sure why, potentially something with Gideon, or maybe Ajani pulling a "Hey, you went off and did your stupid thing, now let's go do my stupid thing." But mechanically, it seems like a good fit, for inter-set synergy.
I can see that. Personally I was expecting Ravnica 3 (for admittedly no real reason), but the Ixilan and Dominaria subthemes of Enchantments could point towards Theros.

Ravnica definitely seems more likely than Theros as the next block, as all signs have been pointing there. I imagine we'll get two sets of Ravnica, because they've repeatedly proven they can't fit ten factions into one set, and if they leave any out they'd have a mutiny on their hands.
Theros I can seem coming after the resolution of the Bolas plotline, as we've just roped Karn back into the plot, and he should be able to warn of the dangers of New Phyrexia as the next interplanar threat, and between him and Ajani we've got threats pointing us to bringing back Elspeth who can guide that fight, which would necessitate Theros. Plus, Gideon's got some unfinished business there.
The MMM cost cards could be a plant to interact with Devotion for a Theros return, but it could happen in the Spring of next year and still share a standard with Dominaria.

I can expect karn to tell the gatewatch about new phyrexia as a future threat
I could also see a possibility of having Ajani and Gideon go to Theros to get allies (Elspeth) against Bolas.

Hmm, this is a pretty interesting theory. I do hope we return to Theros soon, regardless. I will say that I'd expect Ravnica 3 later, only because it seems like the big wrap-up with the Bolas plotline, which still feels like it has a few loose threads to tie before the final showdown.
They definitely seem to be doing story arcs for each gatewatch member. Jace -Ixalan
Liliana. -Dominaria
Gideon -Theros
Chandra. -????
Nissa. -????
Meet back on Ravnica
Dominaria could just as easily be Gideon's block as Liliana's. And the thing is, Chandra's block was initially going to be Kaladesh, but that set got pushed forward, before Amonkhet, instead of afterwards, so it's a bit up in the air as to if she'll get a block for herself.
I'll go with Regatha for Chandra, gives us a new set. As for Nissa, she either took off to Amonkhet or Zendikar. It's way too soon for a return to Amonkhet, also for Zendikar but i can see them doing 1 set for it as an apology to it's fans for turning it into eldrazi central. Just a little revisit to see how the plane is healing itself with a bit of internal conflict and can also lead to another thread in the big picture with Ugin being there.
I can also imagine them doing a core set focused on Nissa helping to heal both Amonkhet and Zendikar.
We do seem a bit early for the endgame against Bolas. Especially since this arc based on the spoilers seems to end with another smashing Victory for Nicol Bolas so the idea Gatewatch is going to quickly recover from a second Bolas Beatdown in a mere 6 months seems unusual.
The only way i can see us going to Theros is if something happens in Dominaria that leads to Ajani finding out that Elspeth is alive or something bad happens in theros and Gideon finds out about (when i say bad i mean bad bad, Heliod's death bad) because of right now everything indicates Ravnica, like many have said Ravnica is Bolas endgame but also Ral and Vraska are working with Bolas, there's also Jace and Vraska's plot against Bolas.
Now if we look at the mechanics in the game you could use the CMC as an indication of Theros, but there's also many GW token cards and UG +1/+1 counters in standard right now, and they can be used as indication of Ravnica just as much as CMC can be used as indication of Theros.
IMO we should wait until we get to the finish line of dominaria's story, by then we should get an idead of where we're heading, i think Ravnica is the most likely of the options but like i said, with the right twist we could end up on Theros, and there's also the rumor of New Phyrexia based on Karn's speech on the trailer for Dominaria.
I don't know if they're going to go out of their way to give each of Origins 5 a(nother) leading role. Keep in mind that each one the opportunity to be the main character and/or face of a set within the first five sets after Origins - Gideon in BFZ, Nissa in OGW, Jace in SOI, Liliana in EMN, and Chandra in KLD. I do think that they're going to follow up on the home planes of each of the Origins. We already saw Nissa on Zendikar and Chandra on Kaladesh, and we're currently seeing Liliana on Dominaria. All of these story arcs have featured the character originating from that plane heavily and involve them having to face their past mistakes/trauma that they've been avoiding. It makes sense that we should be seeing Gideon on Theros and Jace on Vryn in the relatively near future. They've also been dropping a lot of hints regarding Jace's past on Vryn and Gideon's on Theros recently in the stories. A Gideon-centric Theros set or block and a Jace-centric Vryn set or block are a when, not an if.
i think it return to theros will come before ravnica at war. the confrontation with bolas was only a block ago, and rescuing elspeth really fits with the theme of building a team.
There is no way they will conclude the Bolas arc on Ravnica so soon after this new initiative of the Gatewatch for forgiveness, growth, allies and a better strategy.
I don’t know if Theros will follow this year’s Core set but I’m confident that a Return to Theros will precede a rereturn to Ravnica.
Quite Frankly, I’m kind of hoping for another new world/new old world than a return after Dominaria, and this is coming from a guy who loves Theros.

Nissa's Hour of Devestation precon seems to indicate that she returned to Amonkhet after the Bolas incident to help restore nature there, teaching some of the population druidic traditions. So that is likely at least one stop on her journey. She'd probably also go there to help Samut and try to recruit her in the battle against Bolas. Nissa has experienced first hand what hotheadedness and shortsightedness brings and will likely take whatever time is necessary to gain the power and allies that are needed to take down Bolas, and that includes helping the weak become stronger.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
Tetsuko Umezawa, fugitive is covered in constelations. Maybe just a coincidence, maybe not. On one hand, she is no planeswalker. On the other hand, constelations are really strongly tied to Theros and the artist could have gone with any other effect to accompany her teleporting. Besides, the Umezawas have a history with interplanar affairs.

Well, she may not be a Planeswalker now, but we don't actually know if she has a spark or not.
