What does Shadowmoor have to do with anything, especially since Shadowmoor as its own separate thing no longer exists?
What comes after dominaria? My baseless guess ( no more or less baseless than any other guess )is Shadowmoor.
Jace's connection to Vryn has been mentioned several times in recent stories due to his getting all of his memories back.
Ravnica has also been referred to in the story several times throughout Ixalan and has many hanging plot threads, and Ral Zarek is an agent of Bolas. Ravnica is also a popular plane and relatively "safe" where player backlash is concerned.
Kaldheim was actually mentioned by name in one of the recent stories, and is a plane we've never been to before. Gideon returning to Theros and confronting his past has also been built up to in the story by Amonkhet block. Regatha is to Chandra what Innistrad is to Liliana, and since Jaya is re-entering the story in Dominaria, that plane also has the opportunity to get a proper set.
The only connection Shadowmoor has to anything relevant to the current lore is Nissa, and it no longer exists as the flip side of Lorwyn, as The Great Aurora stopped happening. Also, Lorwyn-Shadowmoor is very low on the Rabiah Scale, just above Kamigawa.

jezz man, calm down wow
And again, it is a guess as much as any of those. They could even go to Rabiah for what we know. You are exalted, sir
Given the story article today on the mothership, it seems likely we will seeing Ravnica in the near if not the immediate future. Including the article, there are a couple of reasons to think this:
The declining sales (addressed at length in a thread in Magic General, though the later pages have shifted focus to standard design philosophy and is discontents) would make it a good business move to follow up Dominaria with a sure fire hit like Ravnica.
Story context clearly indicates that Ravnica will be of paramount importance somewhat soon. Given Magic's new trend of basing sets on the story, it seems likely that R and D will follow.
Apparently, Nicol Bolas was somewhat careless on Amonkhet and let Jace see a sliver of his endgame. Jace couldn't make out much, but could tell it had something to do with Ravnica. To that end, Jace has decided to go to Ravnica (soon judging by the tone of the article) to work with Niv-Mizzet to hatch a counter plan. In addition to the most recent article, past articles have established a link between Nicol Bolas and Ral Zarek, who is (presumably) still on Ravnica.

Well, and there was another thread ( that i can't remenber very well, and that i can't find ) from the time of BFZ that stated inistrad, egypt plane, and ravnica. ( also the leaker stated another thing that turned out to be true )
that 4chan post seems like a total shot in the dark. while it got "egypt" correct, it got literally everything else wrong. i hope we see another plane before ravnica besieged/battle for ravnica/invasion of ravnica (wow they are going to have a hard time naming this set).
kaladesh, amonkhet, ixalan were 3 new planes in a row, so it's possible they would do 2 returns in a row (dominaria and ravnica). the fact that dominaria and ravnica are the two most important planes means that putting them back to back could work well. honestly what i hope to see is dominaria act as a downbeat. ajani can talk some sense into the guildpact and basically give them each a mission to accomplish in preparation for the defense of ravnica.
liliana needs to kill her last demon and that could take place on viking plane with raven man. (viking set) chandra can go to regatha with jaya to learn how to burn things good. (core set?) giddeon can go to theros to rescue elspeth.(return to theros set) jace can go to vryn and do some mage ring stuff. (also core set??) nissa is boring so i guess she can do whatever. if these ding-dongs want to take down bolas i feel like getting garruk back would be a decent idea.
actually it occurs to me that garruk could simply be FROM the viking plane. his armor has celtic knot designs all over it. that would make it easy for lilliana to go meet up with raven man, kill belzenok, and un-curse garruk in one set. maybe we'd get a good G/R walker out of garruk restored.
Although if the gatewatch want to take them on they are on for a suicide train.
Which is not necessarily a bad thing, as long as they keep Ajani and Chandra alive and somehow wrap up Liliana's story with the Raven Man. Although they might all become interesting characters over time, given how we got some serious development for Nissa on Amonkhet and Jace on Ixalan.

I feel like the next New Phyrexia set is more likely to be the 2nd Phyrexian Invasion, whether its Dominaria again or somewhere else I think its more likely that the Phyrexians will be taking it to someone else rather than PWs returning to New Phyrexia to try again after Koth, Venser, and Elspeth failed to save the plane last time. Honestly at this point who would they even be saving I swear everyone other than Koth has to be dead or corrupted by now even with Urabrask being intentionally lazy about wiping the last of the Mirrans out.
I certainly hope that Wizards goes back to the New Phyrexia storyline before we get to the Invasion of Ravnica. MaRo has mentioned that they think it was a mistake story wise to do Shadows over Innistrad right after Battle for Zendikar, basically resolving Emrakul's loose end rather than giving some time for more anticipation to build
I think it kind of makes sense to have a Return to New Phyrexia (or War on New Phyrexia) set. If we get Return to Theros after Dominaria, which is likely, Gideon could run into Ajani there and they could both resolve their unfinished business on the plane, freeing Elspeth at some point. After that we could get a set in which Elspeth and some other planeswalkers (maybe 1 or 2 others) return to New Phyrexia to try and find out what's going on there. That could be a full-on war between the factions, with the Mirran resistance just trying to stay out of it and survive. Maybe they're fighting for control, or a new Father of Machines is (hatching, I guess? In a kind of 'larval' state) and each faction wants to be the one to 'educate' him/her with their philosophy. If Wizards did this, it could: a) Score points with Gatewatch-haters, as they're getting a whole set without a single Gateswatch pwalker; b) Deliver a set in which the main conflict is between 2 or more bad guys, which would be awesome; c) Bring back New Phyrexia, a set with (in my opinion) the best flavour and atmosphere of all the planes. Maybe they can even tie it in to the larger story by having Bolas have plans in New Phyrexia, or something.
It will either be ravnica or a couple sets of jace gathering allies and making plans followed by ravnica.

SonofaBith - Wizards was so excited about making the packaging for Modern Masters 2 recyclable, they decided to make most of the rares and all but 1 of the UC's recycle-bin ready too. Convenient!
Ahem-ahem. Three sets on Ravnica. Nevermind me, baseless hypothesis here.
Two sets for the usual guild stuff, and one set for Hour of Devastation 2.0.
Seems reasonable to me.
If they do this, they should have another set in between the two 'presentation' sets and the third one. It would build expectation, and prevent players from getting tired of the plane and/or storyline.
I don't know the plane we are visiting after Dominaria but there is one thing I am almost completely POSITIVE on:
Core Set 2019 is going to be Magic Origins except focusing on MTG's 'Rogues Gallery'. Tezz and Nicol Bolas art revealed.
Yaay!! pull out the twirly capes, bloody alters and sinister piano!!!
......D-D-D-DUNNNNN!!!! <manic cackle and a clearing of throat>
I wonder if it'll include Nahiri to provide the white.
It'd have to wouldn't it? the only other white PW that could be considered an antagonist is Dovin. Sorin would not qualify and he's a bit stoned right now anyways
if tezzeret is shown on alara and vryn has been so heavily referenced i wouldn't be surprised if the theme was "homecoming" - showing each character going back to their home plane. it would be a good segue from dominaria (where lilliana goes home) to return to theros (where gideon goes home).
it would also be a good chance to take us back to nicol bolas home plane of kamigawa : - )

Since they may have figured out that's where bolas is going to strike and amonkhet may have not only making the army it was a practice run.

Sleepy town, dusty road, a few scattered shops... Doesn't say much, but could be western. Doesn't much fit Kaldheim, though.
