I suspect that the Dominaria set coming next year will feature various throwbacks to past Dominaria sets and blocks: Antiquities, Mirage, Ice Age, Tempest, Urza's, Invasion, Odyssey, Onslaught, and Time Spiral, chiefly.
Ice Age is of interest here. There's been talk about Snow returning, though Maro has indicated Snow-Covered Basic Lands will not be returning. Coldsnap gave us a cycle of ally-color snow duals:
Perhaps Dominaria can finish the cycle with enemy-color Snow Duals? Enemy-color cheap fetches would be nice too, but I doubt we're getting two cycles of enemy duals in one set, though fetches would probably generate more interest than snow duals.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Well, flavorwise, the snow lands were due to an ice age that has long passed. There isn't currently any justification for snow on Dominaria, and nothing dictating that snow can't show up elsewhere. I doubt they'll try to force snow to share space in a set that already has a lot of nostalgia beats to hit, rather than save it for a set where they can give it proper space.
I won't expect any throwbacks in Dominaria, if i do i'll surely end up dissapointed, but like the dude above said, there's no reason for Snow-covered lands since the Ice age is gone.

I can't imagine they'd force snow lands into Dominaria, unless the area(s) we are visiting briefly for the story are in a snowy area.
Honestly I'd rather they just reprint the snow basics in something like Conspiracy or a Masters set. The basics are starting to really need a reprint somewhere.
I belive we will see snow soon, but i think it will be in another plane where we will see a minion of bolas that may or may not replaced sarkhan in the release of the eldrazi ( in the new time line)

I don't think basic snow lands will return, but they could do it similar to the recent Desserts making non-basic lands.
Actually it would be neat if a non-basic land could give a basic land that Snow type. Like Soulbond but for lands.
