I had a slightly different idea on what might do it:
White God - "As long as you control three or more other creatures" -- Works well with Embalm because your creatures get double the use.
Blue God - "As long as you have six or more cards in your hand" -- Opposite of Red, works well with "Knowledge is Power" theme. Casting two spells a turn is not always the easiest task.
Black God - "As long as there are five? seven? or more creatures in your graveyard" -- Seems more manageable than requiring a creature to die each and every turn.
Green God - Formidible - I could actually see this being the activation.
Red seems off in this case. Yes I know, madness is the one of the red subthemes, but you guys' mechanics are so basic, looks like "if an opponent was dealt damage this turn" fits it much better when Hazoret ability is different.
I'm in agreement with @Urabrask on the conditions for white/black/green, but I'm going to say that Bontu will be something like "B, Sacrifice a nontoken creature: Draw a card/Scry 2." (one of those two abilities, not modal), because Embalm loves you. It also has synergy with these previewed black cards that care about things dying, so there you go.

Nice idea would be fitting for the god of ambition, but the blue one already draws cards, would they be willing to make two gods draw cards?
If not, scrying as you said would also be good, or gaining some amount of life by sacrificing a creature.

Rhonas (the green god) can't use +1/+1 counters because Amonkhet is a -1/-1 counter set. So if the green god does need a creature with a certain power in order to turn into a creature, it would have to be achieved through other means. The activated ability could in theory involve auras (unlikely), equipment (even more unlikely, this is green we're talking about), or temporary power/toughness pumping, which is possible but it would be odd because it would make the green god switch between attacking/blocking and non-attacking/blocking modes much more often than the other gods. It still seems like the most likely choice to me though. If the green god ends up caring about total power (like formidable), then creating tokens would work too, but I doubt that they would do that as token creation would make much more sense for Oketra (the god of solidarity, hence caring about number of creatures and making tokens).
I think that Oketra requiring a certain number of creatures and creating tokens of some kind is extremely likely. Same goes for Bontu counting cards in the graveyard, but it could be either creature cards or total cards in the graveyard. If it ends up being the former, then creature sacrifice would make sense for the activated ability. If it ends up being the latter, self-mill might be better. (Discard would work too but it's unlikely because of Hazoret.)
The only ones that don't have synergy for existing are Hazoret (1 or less) and Kefnet (7 or more) and are also opposite colors.
You could have Kefnet, Hazoret, Rhonas and Oketra together.
Depending on your hand state, Kefnet or Hazoret are active, sun-moon-vibe.
Oketra is always active while you have at least three other Amonkhet gods out.
Rhonas is always active as long as you control either Kefent or Hazoret. If you only control Oketra aside from Rhonas, you buff her to satisfy Rhonas's condition.
There is also a pattern at work here. 3W, 2U, ?B, 3R, 2G. So I would say its likely that Bontu costs 3B.
I would think that Bontu would have wither as a keyword.
He is activate based on the size of the grave.
His activated ability makes a player sacrifice a creature.
His power is equal to or less than 5.
His toughness is equal to or greater than 5.
Although this assumes he cares how big your grave is, not how small it is. If the opposite is true, then he has an activated ability that either:
A) Returns a creature in your graveyard to your hand/battlefield.
B) Or exiles cards in a graveyard.

Bontu involves graveyard amount.
Rhonas involves power. (Though I have no idea how he's gonna work since they said no +1/+1 counters.)

Bontu is a she.
Alright she. But anything else you would like to add? As the actual subject matter is how Bontu goes from being to passive to active.
Graveyard amount or types.
And a ability that bryou nags stuff from the graveyard back or exiles stuff from the graveyard.
Just like you theorized.
