In "The "nkwell"'s comic "Casting Call" on WOTC Articles today, an upset amphibious humanoid chronicles how they are denied not having a damp enough plane for a prophesied Salamander uprising. Could just be comedic filler, but could it also be a plug for "Atlazan"? Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure it's just a joke on the fact that they introduced the amphin in 2011 as a "brand new race" and then only ever made like, one more, in a core set, a year later.
It would be even funnier if that were true though.
Just comedic filler to contrast with the fact that Amonkhet is a desert. I guess the Amphin lore-wise would be at home in a plane that (persumably?) has jungles, like Atlazan, but there's really nothing to this other than a cheesy joke.
Also, I'm kind of bothered as a Vorthos by it, because there's no reason to think that Gor Muldrak is an Amphin - why would he write about his own race in the third person?

I mean, the amphin never says its name. And Cryptohistories is not necessarily Gor's book, he could just be quoted in it.
Or, being the horrifyingly intelligent and despicable seamonsters they are, he could be...WRITING IN SOMEONE ELSE'S BOOK!
