Archfiend of Ifnir shows that they aren't shying away from "cycling matters" abilities. Fingers crossed for a "cycling matters" commander, preferably in WBG. Even Astral Slide on a legendary body would be great.
It's odd...I think Astral Slide and "cycling matters" cards in general are well-liked, but Wizards doesn't really say anything about their players asking for a "cycling matters" commander so I don't know where one would be on their priority list.
Have you tried asking MaRo? He collects basic ideas for future legendary creatures (such as a legendary spider, or legendary werewolf, ect. They don't always nail it, but when they do, we get the Gitrog Monster, which is the perfect legendary frog). Just tell him that you would like to see a three color legendary creature with a "cycling matters" effect, preferably in those three colors you mentioned. And if he thinks it is doable in the next block they are doing cycling in, he'll stick one in the design file. But you have to be very generic in your request.
Unfortunately, Maro seems a lot more interested in making legendary [cool or humorous creature type] cards for the novelty of it than making mechanical lords for Commander, unless it gets requested a ton (*cough*UR artifact commander*cough*). Maro is also a strict adherent of the "not every legendary creature is for Commander" philosophy (which I agree with to an extent, but that doesn't mean that they should miss obvious opportunities like a RG werewolf in Innistrad 1.0 or make garbage like Dragonlord Kolaghan that will actively offend Commander players.) There's also the issue that a WBG cycling commander is quite narrow, as cycling is a block mechanic and tricolor cards are used sparingly. If they can somehow miss obvious, frequently requested things like a UR artifact commander for so long then that really reduces our hope for more specific or narrow commanders. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see such a card and others like it too, but I just don't think it's a likely thing to happen.
It's too bad that they missed their chance to make GUR energy commander (or, you know, any energy commander at all in a block that featured had tons of legendary creatures and featured energy heavily). And people are inevitably going to want a WUB zombie commander now that Amonkhet is here, assuming they don't print one. It would be really nice if they had the foresight to make the cards that they should know people are inevitably going to want for commander (again, RG werewolf commander comes to mind). As a general rule they should probably make a legendary creature using every major mechanic or theme in each block, preferably in the main colors of that mechanic or theme.
Anyway, back on topic: I would love to see typecycling besides basic landcycling show up. Future Sight showed us wizardcycling so any card type, subtype, or supertype should be fair game (although legendarycycling doesn't have the same ring to it). I would, however, like to see cursecycling if Amonkhet has curses plus typecycling for any creature type that gets tribal support (almost certainly zombies, perhaps others).

Problem was, no one actually asked for a UR artifact related commander until *after* Kaladesh was released, mostly because everyone thought it was obvious. Requesting a specific type of commander (say a red/green legendary Hyena for example), puts it on a list he keeps of possible future commanders. But even if he designs one and puts it in the file, there is no guarantee it will see print. We asked for years for a legendary spider, and we got one. Same with Werewolf and even Frog. Ok, granted Ishkana was kind of a failure because no one at WotC realized we wanted a red/green/black legendary spider and not a green/black one. But that was partially our own fault for not telling them. But the point still stands, they will try to accommodate us if they can make a cool design out of it.
As for the topic at hand, I agree. Non-land type cycling would be nice. I could imagine a creature that could be cycled to search for another creature (say a hunter that would cycle to find a beast), or a spell that, as you suggested, cycled for a curse. Would be nice.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).

False. People wanted there to be one in Origins, but there wasn't. Then there wasn't one in C15 either, instead they gave us even more instant/sorcery-based UR commanders as if didn't have enough already. By that point people were actually pretty upset and telling Maro about it. And there was probably a desire for a UR artifact commander long before Origins, but it wasn't among as many people and it wasn't as widely know as it is today. Now granted, the backlash for the lack of such a card in C16 was less than the backlash for Kaladesh, and Kaladesh had probably already been designed by then. But it's still somewhat appalling that they haven't made one yet. Maro himself stated that the main reason he hasn't designed one is because he that thought one already existed. While for the most part it's a good thing that design and development plan ahead so far into the future, since it prevents mistakes and such, a major drawback is that if they miss something, it will take years for them to get back to it even at the earliest opportunity. I'm sure that werewolf fans can confirm that.

Does Maro really make a additions to a list like that, even from just one request? I know that he keeps a list of plane themes on "the short list" but I've heard nothing about something like that for legendary creatures. I always thought that he just made certain legendary creatures because he got lots and lots of requests for them (RG werewolf and legendary spider, for example). But from just one request? If he really does do that, than I should send some ideas in and hope they get designed eventually.
I remember wizards not liking the '2cc' cycle this card. Therefor they created a bunch of cards with cycling effects. Archfiend of Ifnir seemed to go back to the old '2cc' cycling but they seemed to infused a 'Astral Slide' like ability to the card. So I won't be too surprised that we do get an Astral Slide card (but it's going to be a creature). I'm not sure about cards. I do like Archfiend of Ifnir because if we have more of these guys with lower casting cost, it would be awesome.
Fingers crossed:
Goblin wild shooter R
Goblin 1/1
Whenever you cycle or discard another card, Goblin Wild Shooter will deal 2 damage to target creature/player.
Cycling: 2
I like this card!!!!
That is wildly overpowered compared to its cost. >.<
I say make it deal 1 damage as a 1R 1/1 jackal and you have a card.
Plus can we get a printing of a magus of the wheel or some other wheel effect in slandered to combo with these cards we need hand disruption.
