1) It fits thematically with "Hour of Devastation" and Nicol Bolas (an Evil god).
2) It needs reprinting.
3) It is the best time to print a strong sweeper, because it is at its weakest at the moment, thanks to vehicles and pushed 'walkers (Gideon mainly).
If we don't see Damnation in Modern Masters 2017, I would wager that we will see it in Amonkhet, though that "regeneration" clause will cause confusion with newer players.
Maybe they could do us one better and print a new version. Total Destruction 2BB Sorcery: All creatures lose indestructible until end of turn. Destroy all creatures.
You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. I can't wait till I can play my bicycle land out, thus making me heckbent, while I have Nessie on the field. You know, so I can attack with my Pervert.
A masterpiece damnation you say? Now that is an idea... Could be a pretty sweet card. They should make a legendary Pyramid land. Could be the one to Nicol Bolas, and could maybe function as a tutor.
I would say reprint pyramids but that's reserved we're going to get a pyramid thing just not this.
But damnation i guess it's possible since it fits the flavor of "hour of devestation" and also the masterpiece series.
And the professor from tolarian college clams that Maro is not always right and trolls. Basicly he's claming maro is lying about "regeneration" is getting replaced with gain "indestructible till end of turn."

That seems like a stupid thing to straight up lie about. MaRo frequently uses vague wording to bend the truth, but I've yet to see a straight up lie.
I mean...Regenerate is currently only on threecards in standard. And those are all from BFZ block. The two blocks before it and Magic Origins combined only have it on sixteen cards, twenty if you count "can't be regenerated." Regen's been goin' down the tube for a while.
And again, Development doesn't really seem to want 4 mana Destroy All Creatures spells any more. It seems...unlikely that Damnation will show up in a Standard legal set for a long while, if ever.

amen the closest we are probably going to get is 3BB sweeper
{tap} - Add 1 to your mana pool
2, {tap} - Target attacking creature is no longer a creature, and cannot become a creature until end of turn.
Mechanic: Dessicate
When this creature enters the battlefield, you may exile it. Target creature gets -X/-X until end of turn, where X is the exiled creature's CMC.

I wouldn't even mind a new black wrath that does something like
Hour of Devestation3BBB
Sorcery (Rare)
Each player sacrifices each creature he or she controls.
Also ties in with Persist if that's a thing in Amonkhet; where as I imagine it would be centered in black; giving all of your undead a chance to... come back!

Okay, but that wouldn't be anywhere near as good as Damnation. The reason we need a Damnation reprint (or a the printing of a comparable card) is because Damnation's price needs to drop, soon. So we need either a reprint or a new card of the same power-level.
To point out it already is dropping in price. Modern is dying due to wizards no longer doing pro tours for modern.
Oh on topic I think I got the golden ticket god tri color combos.
- Flavor. Give me basic lands with art that makes me want to run them in all of my casual decks. Give me camels, nomads, oases, deserts...
Ancient Egypt is primarily an agricultural and urban culture; so neither nomads nor deserts/oases would be flavourful: maybe the desert as a place for the dead. And camels are totally foreign to ancient Egypt.
Well, Amonkhet is not ancient Egypt, so it doesn't need to perfectly conform. Plus, Wizard's almost always goes with the popular idea of something, not a more historically correct version, and most people think of camels and nomads when they think of Egypt, so it's more likely than not we'll have them (or whatever the Magic equivalent of camels is).

Oh, hey, one of those is actually from Kaladesh. Camel tribal incoming?
Oh right! I forgot there was a recent camel (I knew there was the very old camel, but cards like that don't have much bearing on modern creature types). The camel in Kaladesh tells me that we will almost certainly have camels in AK.
Tomb of the Dead
When ~ enters battlefield, exile a card from your graveyard. T Add one mana of any color card exiled by ~
That would be like a Chrome Mox for the graveyard. Interesting concept for either a land or a new Mox, but I feel it might be a little perilous for development.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
I was actually concerned it might be too slow/weak. You have to get a card into graveyard before you play it. Also unless you pitch a gold card, it will be mono color.
Now playing it with the mox and you have two mana of any color on a turn.

We could also see a masterpiece Damnation or maybe a regular black shifted Day of Judgment.
