I think it would be interesting if they did an alternate reality set like time spiral block for either a commander product or a conspiracy like set. I think it would be interesting to see alternate version of new and old characters. I have loved the idea of purple mana since I read about it and I think it would be fun to play with it even not in a standard or modern setting. They could have each commander be one color and purple.
2 Colour Decks with a strong Race / Class tribal structure would be cool. Particularly if they bring back partner. Logically each deck could have a 2 colour Partner and 2 x 1 Colour Partners. Combined
with this years commanders you would open up an impress number of new and interesting combinations.
Another interesting approach would be to move away from a colour balance approach to really Focus in on key areas that need something new. Lets say you
did as some are suggesting a mixed approach
1 x 5 Colour
1 x 3 Colour
2 x 2 Colour
1 x Colourless
I think it be interesting to see a bit of a red slant to the decks, as red is the weakest commander colour. So I would do UR (izzet Artificers) and RG (landfall), BWG (Amonket Theme (Just A Guess)), colourless (eldrazi) and 5 Colour (Dragons).
Allied Tribal Commanders is the only thing that makes sense, with partner being made a commander keyword so that they can fit more text onto partner cards if needed.

"The essence of every world, every spell and every thought is power. Nothing else matters, because nothing else exists."
Artifacts- One big piece to play with your commander, but you need the other pieces to assemble it for balance.
Enchantments- same thing.
Plain chase cards- adding a commander twist to them where the all players take a turn, the cards flips to the next plain of existence causing "x" to happen.
Tribal Commander- Slivers (all colors), Goblin war machines for crewing (red/green, why not, sounds cool), Humans clerics (white/green, life gain plus damage prevention, pillow fort), Fairies (Blue/Black, discard, flicker), Merrfolk (White/Blue, your lands are blue, deal with it), Artifacts infect somehow (black/red/blue?, the general is colorless, but has some color pie abilities). My dream list. Would be king of Cool if they kept it tied into the plains chase cards. Certain cards tie into the plains chase cards with abilities to boost you or hurt opponents for a turn.
add in a special commander life counter and not that crappy plastic one.
They don't need to come up with a new concept for the commanders themselves (but a new mechanic or two is almost mandatory). I mean, if they did shards again, people would be interested if the new cards are cool and there are good value cards in the precon decks.
There are also a couple of issues with it potentially being a way around the commander tax.
Not necessarily, it could work like Derevi. After all, suspend can be played around more easily with counters or by simply having at least a turn to prepare.
I'd like to maybe see 2 colour planeswalkers or commander sets based on planes so they can use commander sets to make cards for characters that haven't been represented by cards yet
I've seen some questions on Blogatog asking for Partners to return, so I'm guessing the concept will be popular enough to warrant making it a standard feature of future Commander products. I expect some future Partners will be monocolored, but I'm doubtful about the prospect of tricolor Partners, though being able to make a 5C deck without relying on existing 5C legends would be nice.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
It would be nice to have 3 WUBRG or more decks maybe one focused on slivers, other for elementals, other for grouphug, other for planeswalkers ( maybe make some really bad and almost all at 6+, it could be a walker deck with just 14, i think ) and one for artifacts
I agree with Fiveod. I think the next themes, after they make the allied pairs probably next year, will be "archetypes", "tribes", etc. "Deck themes" rather than "color combinations". I think getting five tribal ones is bound to happen, and they don't have to be all monocolored or all color pairs. For example we can have BG elves, UW merfolk, R goblins, B vampires and GW humans as our decks. Or we can get decks based on card types: UR "artifacts" (that is due to happen), GW "auras"/"enchantments", UB "spells", and so on.
I think a cycle of tribal Commander decks would best be served by technical WUBRG legends that each put one color as the dominant of the deck. A Merfolk deck for example would be dominant blue, a Goblin deck dominant red. The biggest downside of the Tazri model is that there are only so many designs you can make that use WUBRG as a cost; we might see some wackier options like a monocolor card with two activated abilities that each require only two colors of mana, or we could see FRF Khans-style Partner legends that are technically tricolor but only require two colors of mana to access their full potential.
At this point, I would most like for tribal decks to feature a combination of a Tazri-style WUBRG legend and two FRF-style partner legends, like a WUBRG Merfolk Queen and two Merfolk partners, one with a (W/B) ability and the other with a (R/G) ability.

From what we have so far allied is the obvious choice. But I wish they add a 6th colorless commander (which they should have done during mono color commanders)
My Magical Magic Christmasland desire would be Ally-Color Decks:
- Primary Commander uses Experience Counters (to finish the cycle).
- First Sub Commander is a 2 Color Commander with Partner.
- Second Two Sub-Commanders are Monocolor Commanders with Partner.
10 new Allycolor Commanders (5 with EXP, 5 with Partner)
10 new Monocolor Commanders (2 per color, all with Partner)
I know, I know, we drift dangerously close to being Highlander with so much room to make goodstuff decks or to use a Partner Commander as a Splash source. But since we already have 5-color Scarecrow and 5-color Dragon goodstuff I think that isn't a reason to allow such beautiful variety. Especially if the monocolor commanders can be split between an Early Game and a Late Game commander set-up.
...The Experience Counters are strictly because I want Allied Experience to be a thing. So it probably won't happen.

They should have waited on Monocolor Commander precons then, what a waste.
We actually just had ally colored commanders in this year's decks and allies have a good chunk of options already. 5 color could really need some help with only Cromat, Progenitus, and Child of Alara as non tribal options. Of course, it's also too bad Progenitus doesn't have a serious mana cost like 2WUBRG or something, although considering those 5 mana 8/8 tramplers green gets nowdays, WUBRG wouldn't be impossible if they could have a redo costing it. I mean protection from everything basically just gives it shroud and unblockable as big as it is.
Allied color is the logical next step, after that I fully expect them to make themed decks, one year each deck will represent a specific plane (a good way to show some love to some of the less popular planes such as Ulgrotha), another it may be a year of tribal decks (insert obvious sliver deck here, but I hope we get something more interesting, like an actually playable b/g fungus deck that makes Thelon of Havenwood playable as a commander), and one year it would be "play style" (a controllish deck, a combo deck, a stompy deck, a weenie deck, and a "chaos" fun deck). After that they can start over with wedges/shards/what have you.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
I think a really good idea would be to do five five color decks, but have each one have a main focal color like five color green, five color blue, ect. It would also be a good idea for that set to bring back partner. For example have the blue commander partners have an Esper colored partner and a Temur colored partner.

I really like the idea of planes as a theme. There are quite a few planes that are very unlikely to get an official revisit, so why not use this product for that purpose?
If they are going to do allied colored commanders, I want them to be tribal (class or race) focused. Its actually getting to be kind of a drag that tribal focus is downplayed and doesn't show up. The last commanders from these products I can even recall that even had a modicum of actual tribal focus was Kaalia of the Vast, Ghave, Guru of Spores and Prossh, Skyraider of Kher. Two of which are from the 2011 Commander product while the third is from the 2013 product. Seriously like where is the "Legendary Creature - Squirrel" card that focuses on Squirrel Tribal? I would have thought something like that would have been the down the pipeline by now.

The year after that, wedges like the first set, and then repeat the cycle.
Stay reasonable, be mindful of your expectations and don't feed the trolls.

I can only keep wishing for the return of planeswalker commanders, perhaps multicolored (allied or wedge)

GRhonas the IndomitableG - Indomitable Four Drops
WUBOloro, Ageless AsceticWUB - Loot & Renanimate

Club Flamingo Wins: 1!
Then it will be either WUBRG or C
(As for C no dodging it most likely one or more will involve new Eldrazi Titans but some will be like Karn or breya.)
