The problem is my point. Other comments here and other threads have included some cards that might well be Bulk or at least not a big shiny object. When does the Chase end for these? When its 1\3, 1\2, 2\3 made up of easily attained and relatively cheap reprints? Will the foil be enough to keep interest? How many truly "desirable" cards will be done out of the 100 a year?
I like them but if they are not that lottery pick they should show up more frequently.
Why wouldn't Theros have Sylvan Library? It has a Sylvan Caryatid grove in the Nessian/Nistos forests.
Greater Auramancy, Theros-themed, would be brilliant to see in its collection. It's $20+ and a great card for Enchantments, Auras and fans of both which Theros is all about.
I believe if I counted righ, there are 36 individual planes walkers not counting the different versions. Obviously some better than others.
Would have to combine them with another theme
The Masterpiece themes always tie in to the creative and mechanical themes of the block in question. For top-down blocks, I think basing the Masterpieces on the mythological source in general should suffice. Theros and Amonkhet both should get Masterpieces that reflect the mythological bases for their worlds. For Theros, that means a mixture of Heroes (such as Intrepid Hero as well as legends like Daxos of Meletis and Anax and Cymede), Monsters (Gorgons, Hydras, Krakens, etc.), and God-related cards (enchantments, some instants and sorceries, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, and quite likely the original 15 Gods themselves plus the artifacts). Elspeth, Sun's Champion also deserves a spot in that one. I would call it Theros Myths or Theros Legends.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
guild leaders and signets for ravnica 3
and i don't know where they could fit them but I want masterpiece elves ( llanowar elves, heritage druid, nettle sentinel, elvish visionary...) if only we were ever going back to lorwyn
Huey, Dewey and Louie are always dressed in RUG. it is CLEARLY going to be the wedges block Pioneer: WURFaerie fires BRGDragons ModernBGElves WRBurn UR Fires Turns URGift Storm UG Twiddle Storm
Considering that Signets are easily reprinted in supplementary products, I'm not sure they want to spend ten slots of a foil premium reprint set on them. Sure, Sol Ring got reprinted, but that's one card, not a cycle of ten.

I would like to see some truly game-warping or annoying pieces to spice up a few draft games. Since they're Masterpieces it would happen very rarely and them being played in streamed/taped tournaments would go insta-viral;
Drop a Humility and enjoy their "no way!"
Play Stasis and hear their their lamentations ShahrazadWorldpurgeTime SpiralNaked SingularitySoldier of Fortune, oh I could go on...
[...]
Phyrexia - Phyrexian themed stuff - not these has a lot of mediocre cards like Phyrexian Gargantua, but it can have some good cards like Phyrexian Arena and cards from SOM block) Too bad Tower and Dreadnaught are on the RL.
[...]
Edit: If Amonkhet is death-obsessed like the ancient egyptians are often depicted, there could be some grave/tomb theme. Entomb, Gravedigger, Ancient Tomb, Grave Pact...?

Humility, Shahrazad, and Time Spiral are all on the Reserved List. I wouldn't expect any of those to see print. And I don't think they would want to add the complexities of Shahrazad anyway (even to limited) seeing as it is banned in every format.
I liked JinxedIdol's idea of Phyrexian themed stuff (namely Phyrexian Tower as it needs a Foil reprint at some point).
For Amonkhet, I too am hoping for Gods as Masterpieces. I really want Thassa, Erebos, and Karametra. Though, of the mono colored gods, the only one I don't care about is Nylea. I play all the rest in different EDH decks.
I am just sad that Cyclopean Tomb and Pyramids are Reserved. They aren't the greatest cards, but they fit the theme of "Egypt World" pretty well. Maybe we will get a Masterpiece Cyclopean Mummy as a troll from Wizards
I believe WOTC poorly planned just how many special cards to include in each set.
Scouring TCGPlayer, it would cost me ~$1,600 to collect all 30 inventions. Three months later and another 24 pop out for what'll likely be over $1,000. By the time Kaladesh rotates out, there will likely be 200+ Masterpieces in total, each one probably AVERAGING $50. That's close to $10,000 for just one of each masterpiece.
I realize that some collectors have the pockets to spend $5,000 a year on investment and showcase cards, but the vast majority of players don't. Further, I feel that money that would otherwise be used on other Magic products is spent for collecting these.
Hell, you could get a PLAYSET of every From the Vault for under $5,000 and not have to worry about dropping $5,000 more a year to keep up.
I think these masterpieces are very cool, but I think that they're releasing too many in too short of a time. 25 over a whole block could have probably been a good number; it would allow even most players to try to collect a set if they only had 12-13 to try to collect over a few month period.
I could see the masterpieces follow along the lines of the From The Vault themes since the two known masterpiece sets already follow along this line. Zendikar Expidtions follows of FTV: Realms"s theme and Kaladesh Masterpeices follows FTV: Relic's theme. However this doesn't mean that I think the masterpeices will included all the cards in the FTV series that they mimic, but I feel each will share a few.
So with that in mind, I think here's what next masterpieces might be:
Masterpieces in Destruction: Mass removal spells and perhaps popular spot removal spells to pad out the numbers. I have a feeling this might be in the next set because of Bolas.
Materprieces Legends: Every commander player's dream, probably will be done on the next set on kamagawa if they ever revisit it. If not I could see them doing a legend themed set on another plane soon.
I don't think we'll see angels and dragons any time soon because we just visited Innistrad and Tarkir and I don't see either theme showing up on other planes. As for other FTV themes, some are just harder to fit within a plane's theme like exiled (cards that are on the banned/restricted list) and Lore since it would require a set to take place on dominaria or be a plane/time hopping set similar to time spiral block.
I feel like the Masterpieces for Amonkhet are going to swing one of two ways, depending on how they do the block.
If the block focuses less on the Egypt elements and more on the Nicol Bolas part, it might be Greatest Hits of Nicol Bolas, the Masterpiece Collection.
If the block leans more towards the Egyptian elements, than it might be more inclined towards the mythological aspects, but mostly those relating to Egypt. I have doubts about anything from Theros showing up here.

I could see only Grixis-colored cards to emphasize the Bolas angle, maybe at least in the first set of the block.
I can see this for a return to Lorwyn, the set that was based on tribal creatures & spells. Was the tribal card-type deemed a success or a failure, I forgot (BUT I do remember enjoying it). I just hope they'll keep out the Changelings - the creepiest tribe of them all.

Going by Maro's tumblr:
The Tribal card type is not going to be used again. A reprint of tribal-typed cards can be done in non-Standard sets or as masterpieces, but no new cards.
By the way, Lorwyn itself has very low chances of getting a return anyway. If they do another tribal-themed block, it will more likely be on a new plane.
Masterpiece Legends seems like an easy one especially with Commander's popularity
Masterpiece Enchantments seems easy as well
Masterpiece GOLD
Masterpiece Beatdown
I agree. So far we have had lands and artifacts.
So that leave instants, sorsorry, enchantments, creatures, and plains-walkers. So with us reviving 2 sets a year as well as excluding plains-walkers we get will have a full masterpiece rotation every 3 years.
Plus if they only do 60 cards with 50 reprints that still leaves a lot of cards to be bedazzled.
We don't have a walking barista masterpiece, dark-steel colossus, stocionic resonator, tangle wire, time shiv, master transmuter, or vedalken orrery. All of these would make for excellent masterpieces and who know mabe in 3 years they might be.
I would love to see panharmicon and batter skull as masterpieces.
