First impressions of the first week spoilers is that there are quite a few interesting cards in the set, several standard powerhouses and possibly a few modern playables (anything with Emerge has potential to be broken, Thalia, Heretical Cathar, Harmless Offering, Eternal Scourge, etc.) All in all, I'm excited.
However, there are a some things missing that I really hope were simply not spoiled yet.
1) Better tribal support, especially Spirits and Zombies. The latter had Gisa and Geralf which helps, but the only Spirit spoiled so far was an intro pack rare. Meanwhile, White Humans got a great new Thalia and a couple of powerful new angels. Vampires and Werewolfs both had a couple of good cards, but I don't feel either is standard worthy yet.
2) Better color balance. Once again, White has the bombs and Human tribal support, Green has a couple of exciting 1-drops Gnarlwood Dryad and Kessig Prowler and interesting rares, and we get a Bant Planeswalker that will see play in the dominant colors of standard. Black, Red and especially Blue need some love too...
3) Reprints, Reprints, Reprints. Throw us a bone here, at least a Cavern of Souls. It's not like we'll be using counterspells anytime soon anyway!
Not exactly liking the first week, so far it's been Eldrazipalooza, and barely had anything of note pop for me. I'm hoping the second week will have more to my taste, but I'm not exactly banking on it either.

Unfortunately anything from Innistrad or RTR blocks (the pricey stuff at least) aren't going to see reprint when MM3 is around the corner and probably already being or been planned. They don't want to take away from Masters sets, for some reason.
